MAH CET 2017 MBA Reservation Criteria

MAH CET 2017 application process begins from February 12, 2017. The last date to apply online is February 23, 2017. MAH CET 2017 is held for admissions to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM program. It is state level entrance examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The candidates must check their eligibility before applying for the MAH CET 2017 exam. The candidates appearing for the MAH CET 2017 exam or any other entrance exams like CAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA are eligible to apply under All India Seats.


MAH CET 2017 Eligibility

For the admission in Maharashtra MBA colleges, Candidates should pass graduation degree of minimum three years of duration from this university or any other recognised university by securing 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

  • Only Maharashtra state candidates who belong to the backward class and persons with disability category must secure 45% marks.
Or
  • Candidates studying in the final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have appeared in MAH-MBA/ CAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ XMAT/ ATMA test are also eligible to apply for admission under All India category.

Note: -

  • Candidates are advised to convert grades/CGPA into percentage from the university where they have obtained bachelor’s degree.
  • The Percentage will be rounding off to two places after the decimal.
  • There is no age limit of the candidate for admission.

MAH CET 2017 Reservation

Seat reservation of the candidates divides into three types i.e. CAP seats, Institute level seats, and Minority seats. Following table shows the types of the seats and reservation percentage which are:

  • State level seats: Seats will be available for allotment for all Maharashtra State Candidates through CAP.
  • Home University (HU) seats: In this seats are reserved as per the type of institute for Home University candidates. Seats will be allotted through CAP.
  • Other than Home University seats: These are called as OHU seats belonging to Maharashtra state other than the university.
  • All India Seats: These seats are available for both Maharashtra and Outside Maharashtra state candidates.

Categorization of MS and OMS candidates

In Common Admission Process type of the candidate and their Home University play an important role. There are five types of candidature i.e. A, B, C, D, and E who are eligible as Maharashtra state candidate. Candidate’s type decides their status of Home University. Therefore candidates are advised to read the guidelines carefully before submitting the application form for CAP.

Candidates are categorized into MS and OMS category. Those who belong to A, B, C, D, and E types of candidate category are Maharashtra state (MS) candidates. Those who do not belong to any of the type of candidate category are known as other than Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates.

Following are the eligibility details of 5 types of candidature belong to Maharashtra State candidates.

Candidate Type A:

  • Candidates who born in Maharashtra or Domicile of Maharashtra needs to pass HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy and qualifying examination from the recognised university in Maharashtra state.

Home university: Place of passing qualifying examination should fall within the zone of the respective university area.

Candidate Type B:

  • Candidate who do not fall in above type but their Father or Mother is domicile in Maharashtra state and having domicile certificate

Home university: Place of issuing domicile certificate will fall in the zone of the respective university area.

Candidate Type C:

  • Candidates who do not fall in both the above-mentioned categories but their Father and Mother is Government of India employee and reported to duty in Maharashtra state before submitting the application form for CAP.

Home university: Posting place of Father or Mother will fall within the zone of the respective university area.

Candidate Type D:

  • Candidates who do not fall in any of the above category but their Father or Mother are an employee or retired employee of Maharashtra government.

Home university: Posting place of Father or Mother or place of settlement of the retired Father or Mother will fall within the zone of respective the university area.

Candidate Type E:

  • Candidates who passed HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy and qualifying examination from the recognised university in Maharashtra Karnataka border area and whose mother tongue is Marathi.

Home university: Place of passing qualifying examination must fall within the zone of the respective university area.

MAH CET 2017 How to apply

  • Candidates have to register on the official website of DTE and fill their personal and qualification details apart from choosing CET centers and upload the latest photograph.
  • After that candidate needs to choose the course and colleges in decreasing order.
  • After that candidate should pay the counselling fees and take the printout of the filled in application form along with payment receipt
  • Candidates can apply directly to the Principal/Director of the respective institute but before apply directly candidates should send the documents for its verification.

  1. Class 10th and 12th mark sheet and pass certificate.
  2. MAH CET  Admit card and Scorecard.
  3. A Person with Disability certificate (if applicable).
  4. School leaving certificate
  5. Character certificate
  6. Maharashtra Domicile (if applicable).
  7. Caste validity certificate issued by Scrutiny Community of Social Welfare Department.
  8. Tribe validity certificate issued by Scrutiny Community of Tribal Department.
  9. Non-creamy Layer certificates except SC,ST candidates
