MAH CET 2017 (DTE MBA) Document Verification Process

MAH CET  is the State Level entrance test for admission to MBA/MMS programs affiliated to Maharashtra State Universities. This is followed by a Common Admission Process (CAP). MAH CET 2017 Documents verification process will be published by the DTE Maharashtra. Meanwhile we have updated the Process details for Candidates. They have to follow the process mentioned below for the Documents verification at Facilitation Centres:

  • Candidates who have already registered/appeared for MAH CET need to log in as an Existing user and follow the steps mentioned later in the article.
  • Candidates who have taken CMAT/CAT/GMAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA and want to participate in the CAP rounds of MAH CET can click on New Registration tab on the official website, fill the Application form and pay the Application fees to register for the MAH CET CAP rounds.
  • All the Candidates (Already Registered/New Registrations) have to confirm the Application Form in person at Centres as per schedule.
  • The candidate has to fill up the Registration Details, Candidature Type Details, Qualification Details, Home University & Reservation Details, All India Exam Details and Upload Scanned Images.
  • The candidate also has to rectify the information filled. In the case of any correction, the candidate has to do it online before confirmation.
  • Candidate will not be able to change any information in the MAH CET Application form after the confirmation of the Form.
  • All the candidates are required to carry ALL Original Certificates/Documents along with one set of attested true copies of the documents in support of their claim at the time of filling up of MAH CET Application Form for the verification and scrutiny at the Facilitation Centre to get the Receipt-cum-Acknowledgement of MAH CET Admission letter duly signed by Facilitation centre.

Categorization of MS & OMS Candidates

Any candidate who will fall in either A, B, C, D or E-Type category can be classified as a “Maharashtra State” MS Candidate. Those candidates who will not fall in A, B, C, D or E-type category will be classified as Other Maharashtra State Candidate(OMS) Candidate. Eligibility of the candidate who can be classified in above-mentioned 5 types of categories are given below:

TYPE A Candidate: A Candidate who satisfy the following conditions are of Type A :

  • Candidates who have passed HSC or Passing Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy and also Qualifying Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State
  • A candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra.

TYPE B Candidate: A Candidate who does not fall in Type A, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate

TYPE C Candidate: A Candidate who does not fall in either Type A or Type B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the MAH CET Application Form for CAP, such candidates will fall under Type C.

TYPE D Candidate: A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type A, Type B or Type C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking will belong to Type D.

TYPE E Candidate: A Candidates passing HSC or Passing Diploma in Pharmacy or Engineering or Technology and also Qualifying Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi will belong to Type E.

A candidate who is Claiming the Candidature as Maharashtra Type A/B/C/D/E  has to submit the required documents specified later in this article, failing to submit the required documents specified later will lead to conversion of his/her candidature to OMS Candidate and such candidates will be given the benefit of OMS(All India)Seats Only.


Documents Required at Facilitation Centres

All the candidates are required to carry ALL Original Certificates/Documents along with one set of attested true copies of the documents in support of their claim at the time of filling up of MAH CET Application Form for the verification and scrutiny at the Facilitation Centre to get the Receipt-cum-Acknowledgement of MAH CET Admission letter duly signed by Facilitation centres. The table mentioned below clearly states the list of documents required to be carried out by a candidate at the time of CAP and to be submitted at the Facilitation Centre:

Document Required by all Candidate : 

1. SSC (Class X) mark sheet.

2. HSC/Diploma(Class XII or Equivalent)

3. Qualifying Examination mark sheet.

4. MAH CET mark Sheet/Score Card.

5. School Leaving Certificate, if required to substantiate claim.

6. Certificate of the Indian Nationality

In addition to the above documents. The Candidates are also required to produce the following additional documents depending upon the category to which they belong.

Type– D CandidatesCertificate from the employer in the Pro-forma – B stating that father/mother of the candidate who is a Maharashtra State Government / Maharashtra State Government undertaking employee Or Undertaking along with documentary evidences from the retired employee stating the place of settlement
Type-E Candidates Maharashtra Karnataka disputed border area Candidates

1. Certificate stating that candidate belongs to a disputed border area in Pro-forma – G1.

2. Certificate stating that the mother tongue of the candidate is Marathi in Pro-forma – G2 (List of the villages in Maharashtra Karnataka disputed border area is available on website)

Backward class Candidates belonging to SC/ST

1. Caste certificate

2. Caste/Tribe validity certificate*

Backward class Candidates belonging to VJ/DTNT(A)/ NT(B) / NT(C) / NT(D) /O.B.C/ SBC

1. Caste certificate

3. Non creamy layer certificate @ valid upto 31st March 2017.

Persons with Disability Candidates (P1,P2,P3)

1. Certificate in the pro forma–F/F-1

2. Domicile certificate of candidate.

Jammu and Kashmir Migrant candidates

1. Certificate of posting in case of defence and Government servants in Pro-forma – J

2. Certificate of stay in refugee camp for those staying in camp in Pro-forma – K

3. Certificate stating that the candidate belongs to displaced family Pro-forma –L

Foreign nationals / Foreign Students

1. Eligibility Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (AIU).

2. Passport of Candidate

3. Valid student visa of the candidate.

Persons of Indian Origin

1. Eligibility Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (AIU).

2. Passport of Candidate

3. PIO / OCI card.

4. Relationship certificate of candidate between parent/Guardian.

Workers in Gulf Countries/Non Resident Indian

1. Eligibility Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (AIU).

2. Valid NRI certificate issued by Indian Embassy.

3. Passport and visa of parent working in foreign country.

4. Relationship certificate of candidate between parent/Guardian.

5. Letter from employer on company letterhead.

6. Residence permit / card or Residence (address) proof

Minority Candidates

1. Declaration of the Candidate for the respective Linguistic / Religious Minority Community or Leaving Certificate having information pertaining to Religion / Mother tongue.

Pro-forma – P and Pro-forma - Q

The above mentioned Pro-forma A to Q is available in MAH CET Information brochure as well as on the official website of MAH CET for Type C,D, J& K and Reserved category candidates.


Important Instructions to the candidates

  1. Candidates have to submit the copy of their educational certificates at the time of verification and confirmation of Application form and also required to produce all original certificates.
  2. If filled application form is incorrect then candidature will be cancelled. The name of candidate will not appear in merit list for the purpose of admission through MAH CET.
  3. Reserved category candidates such as SC/ ST/ OBC will have to produce their caste certificates at the time of MAH CET (DTE MBA) counselling.
  4. Application received after due date from J&K migrants, NRI category candidates will be rejected. Candidates will get the Receipt cum acknowledgment through their login after confirmation of application form.
  5. If reserved category candidates are not able to produce caste validity certificate. They are required to submit the copy of Proforma H on Rs. 100/- Non-Judicial bond paper. Candidate can retain the original certificate which they have submit to the institute during admission.
  6. Candidate who have registered as a reserved category for MAH CET 2017. But they are unable to produce caste certificate for reservation claim will have to pay amount of Rs. 200.
  7. They are advised to ensure that they qualified from a recognised university. i.e. AICTE/ UGC approved.
  8. Candidates can fill the online application form, scan and upload the documents without any charges at facilitation centre or they can do its own.
  9. The printout of form will have list of documents required to be produced by candidate to made claim in the application form.
  10. They can edit/ update the application form before they confirm the application procedure.
  11. After filling the application form, candidate should verify the data. They are required to take a print out of the application form for its future reference.
