It is always advisable to start using a laminated drawing board in your practice sessions. This is so because the GMAT Exam Centres often offer these laminated boards for calculations and sketches to the appearing candidates. Let this not be one reason for a bad GMAT Score. Hence, practice as much as you can, to avoid any surprises in the actual GMAT exam.

This simple trick can save you a lot of time and energy. Get to learn about the structure, types of questions and the different sections. Once you have the answer choices in your head, rank them in order of suitability, excluding the wrong ones. Save your time by eliminating the most unlikeable answers. Of course, a proper evaluation is better, but sometimes time constraints render this something of a luxury.
Perhaps the most vital tip for the section is to be familiar with the item formats; there are four different item formats, and you should be comfortable with all of them. Most of the 12 questions require more than one response, and you will have to average about one minute per response.
We all know where we lack. Hence, focus on your weak points, but in a measured way. Time which section is eating your time. A good method can be to set a certain base level of prep questions in each category to do on each day. In the category in which you need to sure up your knowledge, additional questions and time should be planned on top. Therefore, you can improve on weaknesses without risking losing focus on other areas.
The most common phenomenon is running out of time by the time you reach the end of your GMAT Exam. Often, we do not realize it and forget to even give it a thought. While attempting the questions, you tend to forget the time constraint. One simple solution to avoid this situation is to set and stick to certain milestones. Set time goals for each question, say 15 minutes per question. Practice so much that you are able to finish all the sections smoothly, also saving revision time in the end. This strategy lets you know very early that how quickly you must attempt the remaining questions.
