NERIST 2018 Exam Pattern

NERIST Entrance Exam is a pen and paper based test. Since, there are different set of question papers for candidates with various academic backgrounds such as 10, 10+2, diploma holders and graduate candidates, comprehensive knowledge of exam pattern and syllabus for each paper is required.

  • NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 is expected to be held in January 2018.

NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 is an offline entrance test conducted by North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Arunachal Pradesh for providing admission to various courses offered by the institute. The entrance exam is conducted in 3 Phases namely, NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III for admission into Base module (equivalent to 10+2), Diploma Module and Degree Module respectively.

NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 Marking Scheme

NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 contain questions with either 1 mark or 2 marks weightage. There is also provision of negative marking in the test.

Let us understand the marking scheme of NERIST Entrance Exam 2018:

  • A question in NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 can be of either 1 mark or 2 marks; weightage of each question will be clearly stated in the question paper.
  • For every incorrect answer, marks equal to 1/4th of value of that particular question will get deducted.
  • There is no deduction for questions not attempted.

For Questions Having Weightage of 1 Mark:

  • For every correct answer, 1 mark will be added to the total score of candidate
  • For every incorrect response, 0.25 or ¼ marks will be deducted from the total score candidate
  • No marks will be deducted from the total score of candidate for not attempting a question

For Questions Having Weightage of 2 Marks:

  • For every correct answer, 2 marks will be added to the total score of candidate
  • In case of an incorrect response, 0.5 or ½ marks is deducted from final score of candidates
  • No marks will be deducted from the total score of candidate for not attempting a question

NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 Instructions for Filling OMR

Candidates appearing in the NERIST Entrance Exam 2018 need to carefully check these instructions while attempting paper in the OMR sheet.

  • Candidates also need to carry their own stationary on the day of exam.
  • Match all the particulars including question paper, OMR sheet no., etc. before proceeding to answer any questions.
  • Calculator or log tables are not allowed in NEE I. However, the same can be carried for NEE II and III.
  • Don’t carry mobile phone or any communication device inside the exam hall.
  • Read instructions carefully on the OMR sheet before attempting any questions.
  • Don’t leave any unnecessary stray marks on the OMR sheet.
  • Partially filled circles will not be considered as valid response from the applicants.
  • Since this exam has negative marking, candidates must answer questions with care and must not use guess work.
  • In case, any candidate is caught indulging in any unfair means, the candidature is liable to be rejected.
