NEET 2017 Seat Allotment

NEET Seat Allotment 2017 – NEET Seats will be allotted in the on the declaration of merit list in NEET counselling. MCC will declare the NEET Seat Allotment result in two rounds. NEET Counselling will take place in month of June 2017. Earlier the NEET seat allotment result was declared three times. But After the Supreme Court Notice, the NEET Counselling will be held in two rounds only. The Seat Allotment result will comprised Name of Candidate, Candidate’s Rank and College Alloted. Candidate insterested in NEET must know that the exam is scheduled on May 7, 2017. All the seat allotment process and result will be updated in this Article.

Candidates must note that they have to apply for the counselling for being alloted a medical or dental college. Candidates have to appear physically in the college alloted to them.  The Seat allotment will be done on the basis of the rank secured by candidates in NEET exam and what colleges they have choosed during NEET counselling registration according to their preferences.

Dates for NEET 2017 Seat Allotment

The NEET 2017 Seat Allocation is an online process which commences from June 2017. The seats are allotted on the basis of the NEET 2017 Result. There will be only two rounds of NEET seat Allotment. The important dates related to NEET 2017 Seat Allotment are mentioned below:

NEET 2017 Seat Reservation

The candidates can claim the NEET 2017 Reservation during the NEET 2017 Counselling by producing the necessary documents. The candidates belonging to the following categories can claim the mentioned percentage of reservation through NEET 2017:

NEET 2017 Reservation of 15% All India Quota Seats

The candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste can claim a seat reservation of 15% of the total number of seats available under the 15% All India Quota seats. The OBC category candidates and Scheduled Tribe candidates can claim a reservation of 27% and 7.5% respectively under the 15 % All India Quota seats. The candidates with Physical Disabilities can claim horizontal reservation of 3% through NEET 2017.

The candidates with 50%- 70% locomotor disabilities are required to produce a Disability Certificate issued by the following Disability Assessment Boards:

  1. Vardhman Mahavir Hospital, New Delhi
  2. Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi
  3. All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mumbai
  4. Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Kolkata
  5. Madras Medical College, Chennai

NEET 2017 Reservation of Seats other than 15% All India Quota

The candidates are required to satisfy the NEET 2017 Reservation Policy and NEET 2017 Eligibility which is already prevailing in the state or union territory. The private NEET 2017 Participating Medical Colleges and NEET 2017 Participating Dental Colleges will consider the State and Union Territory’s norms for admissions to MBBS/BDS programmes.


NEET 2017 Seat Allotment Procedure

The NEET 2017 Seat Allotment is the third stage of the NEET 2017 Counselling process. The NEET 2017 Seat Allotment is a two round process namely Round 1 and Round 2. The process for Round 1 of NEET 2017 Seat Allotment commences after the choice filling and choice locking process is over. The process for the NEET 2017 Seat Allotment is as follows:

  • The candidates have to register for the NEET 2017 Counselling on the official website of Medical Counselling Committee.
  • Post registration, the candidates have to enter their choice of NEET 2017 Participating Medical Colleges or NEET 2017 Participating Dental Colleges.
  • The process for Allotment of Seat through NEET 2017 for Round 1 commences after the submission of choices. The candidate is required to check whether the seat has been allotted to him/her or not.
  • If the candidate is allotted a seat in the desired institute then he/she has to report to the institute and complete the admission process. The candidate is required to submit a willingness for up-gradation in Round 2 of NEET 2017 Seat Allotment.
  • The candidates who have not been allotted any seat based on their merit must check the official website of MCC for Round 2 of NEET 2017 Seat Allotment process. The candidates who respond positively to the willingness for up-gradation in round 2 must also check the website for Round 2 of NEET 2017 Seat Allotment.
  • After the announcement of Result Candidates have to report the colleges, they have allotted in Round 2 of NEET counselling. 

NEET Seat Allotment for State Quota Seat

85% seats will be allotted by the various states counselling authorities. These authorities will release their own counselling dates on their official website. State Authorities will follow the state Govt. Rules. for the reservations criteria and seat allocation process. Candidates are adviced to check the for the various NEET state counselling notifications.

Sir, Iam Native of Andhra Pradesh and my son will write NEET-2017.My Question is , If a candidate is allotted seat in other than his native state under 15% All India quota , and he has accepted the seat and submitted his willingness but after this is he eligible to claim seat or can he participate in 85% state quota counselling. Pls clarify me . Thank You.
