NATA 2017 Scoring Process

The NATA Exam is divided into two sections: a drawing test and aesthetic sensitivity test. Every answer in the ‘Drawing Test’ will be reviewed by a panel of three examiners separately. Each examiner will assign a score and the average score of the three examiners will be calculated and set as marks for that question.

In the computer test, the applicants have to answer a set of questions which are of a certain difficulty level particularly designed to match the ability level of the applicant. To calculate the score in such a scenario, the statistical properties of the questions, the candidate’s performance on the questions, and the total number of questions answered are evaluated by the exam conducting authority.

Factors on which the sections are scored

Candidates can score maximum in the NATA 2017 Exam if they focus on the factors on which each section is scored. There will be no revaluation conducted and any application asking for a revaluation for any of the section will not be entertained.

General Aptitude & Mathematics Section

The score of candidate in this section will depend on their performance on the total number of questions in the section and the number of questions answered by the candidate in a stipulated time period. The factors on which the questions are presented to the candidate are as follows:

  • The statistical characteristics (including difficulty level) of the questions that have already been answered.
  • The required variety of question types for NATA 2017 Exam.
  • The appropriate coverage of content regarding Architecture.

To calculate the final score, the difficulty level of the questions will be used as a factor. The candidates, who answer less number of questions of high difficulty level correctly, will have a higher score than the students who answer more number of questions with a low difficulty level correctly.

NATA Drawings

The drawing section will be assessed on the following factors:

  • The Candidate’s drawing
  • Imagination used in making the drawing
  • Observation skills which reflected through the drawing
  • Candidate’s sense of proportion and perspective in the drawing
  • Candidate’s sense and use of colour and composition in the drawing
