MP DMAT 2016 Eligibility

The MP DMAT (Madhya Pradesh Dental and Medical Admission Test)  is an annual national level entrance exam providing admission to various health sciences degree courses like MBBS, BDS, BPT, BSc Nursing and other allied paramedical courses.

The exam is conducted by the Association of Private Dental and Medical Colleges of Madhya Pradesh (APDMCMP) and this year will be held on 15th May in online mode.

This entrance test is in a way a pre-requisite for candidates seeking admission to various private Dental and Medical colleges across the state of Madhya Pradesh.

MP DMAT 2016 Eligibility

The detailed eligibility criteria for the various courses offered has been explained below in detail in terms of different criteria like age, academic qualification etc.

MBBS/BDS

The eligibility criteria for the above mentioned course is described below:

Academic Criteria

  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination of 10+2 from the Board of Secondary Education MP or from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) subjects individually and should have secured a minimum of fifty percent (50%) marks in PCB combined together. The candidates should have also passed in English.

                                                                                                               OR

  • Those who have passed any equivalent or higher examination with above-mentioned subjects from any other recognised Board, University with the percentage of marks as mentioned above.

                                                                                                               OR

  • Any other qualification recognised by the Government of India/Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India as recognised qualification for admission to the MBBS/BDS courses.
  • For candidates belonging to the reservation categories, the minimum percentage required is forty (40%).

Age Criteria

Candidates should have completed seventeen (17) years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

No candidate shall be admitted to the MBBS/BDS course if he/she is under the prescribed age.

BPT/B.Sc Nursing/Other Applied Para-Medical Courses

The eligibility criteria for the above mentioned course is described below:

Academi Criteria

  • Candidates should have the qualifying examination of 10+2 from the Board of Secondary Education MP or from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects individually along with English.

                                                                                          OR

  • Candidates should have passed any equivalent or higher examination with the above-mentioned subjects from any other recognised Board/University.

                                                                                          OR

  • Any other qualification recognised by the relevant Council of India as recognised qualification for admission to the above-mentioned courses.

Age Criteria

Candidates should have completed seventeen (17) years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

No candidate shall be admitted to BPT/B.Sc Nursing/Other Applied Para-Medical courses if he/she is under the prescribed age.

Other Eligibility Related Norms/Criteria

Apart from the above mentioned criteria, there are some other eligibility norms applicable to MBBS/BDS/BPT/B.Sc Nursing/Other Applied Para-Medical courses that has been given below:

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the above-mentioned courses for admission.
  • Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination of 10+2 or equivalent examination are also eligible to appear for DMAT provided they fulfil the other eligibility criteria.

For example, if the total of the marks in the four subjects come to 99 out of 200, the percentage comes to 49.50,as a result the candidate will not be eligible to qualify.

  • No rounding off of the marks secured by the candidates in 10+2 or equivalent examination will be done in individual subjects of the final total while converting the marks of the individual subjects out of hundred or total marks out of two hundred.
  • If the marks of the candidate for the 10+2 examination have been revised after revaluation, the eligibility of the candidate may be altered depending on the final result.
  • The candidates will be permitted to avail the benefit of their revised marks subject to his/her representation to the Admission Committee and subsequent production of the necessary proof to the satisfaction of the same.
  • The candidates must note that the late declaration of result of such revaluation or late submissions of proof due to any reasons whatsoever and request to consider/reconsider the claim of the candidate arising out of such revaluation will not be entertained by the admission committee.
  •  A candidate is required to furnish all proofs before the publication of merit list.
  • Candidates who have failed in any subject and got supplementary are also eligible provided they submit the result of passing on or before the counselling (August 31, 2016).
