MH CET/MHT CET 2017 Eligibility

MHT CET holds different eligibility criteria for all the offered courses such as MHT CET 2017 Medical for admission to Health Science courses demand the candidates be at least 16 years of age on or before Dec 31, 2017. However, Candidates applying for Ayurveda and Unani courses must be of 16 years on or before Oct 01, 2017. A minimum of 50 % must be secured in the qualifying examination(45% for Open Category PWD candidates and 40% for Reserved category PWD Candidates).

Eligibility for Admission in Health Science Degree Courses

MHT CET 2017 aspirants can check their eligibility status for health science degree courses. Following are the common eligibilities that shares for the different courses comes under health science degree courses-

  • The applicant must be born on or before December 31, 2000. However, for admission in Ayurved and Unani courses, applicants must be born on or before  Oct 1, 2000. The certificate indicating the name of the applicant, Secondary School Certificate or equivalent examination certificate or School Leaving Certificate defining the DOB will be a valid proof.
  • Applicants must be medically fit and have to submit a certificate of medical fitness at the time of Preference form filling as per proforma in Annexure I
  • The applicant must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) as subjects at the time of admission.
  • Eligibility criteria for 1st Year of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery/ Bachelor of Dental Surgery/ Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery/ Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery - applicants belonging to Open Category must secure a minimum of 50% (150/300) in PCB in HSC Examination. Applicants belonging to Open Category with PWD must have obtained a minimum of 45% (135/300) in PCB in HSC Examination. Applicants belonging to Constitutional reservation and Constitutional reservation with PWD must have obtained a minimum of 40%  in PCB in HSC Examination.
  • 1st Year of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery/ Bachelor of Physiotherapy/ Bachelor of Occupation Therapy- Applicants must have passed HSC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing- Applicants must have passed in the subjects of PCB and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB in the qualifying examination. Applicants belonging to SC / ST and other backward classes, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination must be 40% instead. English is a compulsory subject in 10 + 2 for being eligible for admission in B.Sc. Nursing.
  • 1st Year of Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology/ Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics- Applicants should have passed HSC examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and Mathematics and/ or Computer Science.
  • MHT CET Marks Eligibility for Admission to MBBS & BDS Courses: applicant belonging to open category must secure a minimum of 50% marks, an applicant belonging to constitutional reservation and constitutional reservation with Person with Disability, must secure minimum of 40% marks and PWD applicants in General category must secure a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the MHTCET 2017.
  • MHT CET Marks for Admission to BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BPTh/ BOTh/ BASLP/ BP&O and B.Sc. Nursing: Applicants will be selected on the basis of merit in MHT CET 2017.
  • Additional Eligibility for BUMS course: Aspirants must have passed SSC or equivalent examination from the recognized board with Urdu or Arabic or Persian Language as one of their subjects.
  • Admission in Health Science Courses is subject to the grant of eligibility by Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik.

Eligibility for Admission in Pharmacy Degree Courses

Pharmacy Degree Courses require its candidates to have scored at least 45% in their requisite qualifying exam. Given below are the specific eligibilities that are described for the candidates belonging to different regions and reserved categories for admission in pharmacy course-

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) Candidates for admission in 1st year of degree course in Pharmacy

  • Aspirant must be an Indian National and have passed the HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology /Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject
  • There is no age limit
  • Secured a minimum of 45 % marks (40 % marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and PWD belonging only to Maharashtra State) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject added together (Maximum of marks obtained in Mathematics/ Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject will be considered for the purpose of addition)
  • Should have obtained a non-zero score in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology added together at MHT CET Exam.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign National / Persons of Indian Origin/ Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/ Children of NRI

Aspirants must have passed the HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject and secured a minimum of 45% marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject added together.

Note-

  • The eligibility of the candidates passing the HSC or its equivalent examination from a college/ school/ Examination Board situate outside India will be further decided by the University Authorities to which the candidate is admitted. Hence such candidates are advised to get their eligibility verified by the respective University Authorities before seeking admission to the Pharmacy degree course in the State of Maharashtra.
  • The applicant belonging to this category is not required to appear MT CET 2017.
  • Rounding off the percentage of marks for deciding the eligibility, if applicable (read the article below).

Eligibility criteria for Candidates for the Wards of Defence Service Personnel

Applicants who have appeared & obtained a non-zero score in the MHTCET2017 and satisfying any one of the following criteria are eligible against seats for Sons/ Daughters of Defence service personnel.

  • Candidate is a son/ daughter of ex-service personnel who is domiciled in Maharashtra State
  • Candidate is a son/ daughter of active service personnel who is domiciled in Maharashtra State
  • Candidate is a son/ daughter of active service personnel– 1) who is transferred to Maharashtra State but is not domiciled in Maharashtra State

2) Who is not domiciled in Maharashtra State but his family is stationed in Maharashtra State under the provision of retention of family accommodation at the last duty station on the grounds of children’s’ education, provided further that, such candidate should have appeared and passed the HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from a school/ college situate in the Maharashtra State.

Note: This provision is NOT available to the children of CIVILIAN STAFF who is working OR has worked in the Indian Defence Service.

Eligibility criteria for Persons with Disability Candidates (only for Maharashtra State Candidates)

Applicants who have appeared & obtained a non-zero score in the MT CET 2017 and suffering from any one of the following disability is eligible to seek admission against seats for Persons with Disability candidates-

Candidate who is visual, orthopedic disorders, dyslexia, speech & hearing impaired, impaired (blind), learning disabilities, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and Spastic.

Note: The certificate (Annexure F-F1) should clearly state that the extent of disability is more than 40% and the disability is permanent in nature.

Eligibility criteria for Diploma Candidates in Pharmacy and seeking admission in First Year of Pharmacy

Diploma holders who have passed the Diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum of 45% marks and medium of instruction as English from AICTE approved Polytechnics.

Rounding off percentage of marks

If the percentage of marks comes out to be 49.50% to 49.99% then it shall be rounded to 50% and if the percentage of marks comes out to be 51.01% to 51.49% then it shall be rounded to 51%.



Eligibility for Admission in Engineering Degree Courses

Here are the following specific eligibilities, please go through it to know more about your eligible status for different engineering degree courses-

Eligibility for All India Candidates (Maharashtra & OMS), GOI Nominee

  • Applicant must be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects Physics, Mathematics, English and Chemistry/ Biotechnology / Biology/ Technical Vocational subject
  • There is no age limit
  • Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign National/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/ Children of NRI

  • Applicant must have passed the HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects Mathematics, Physics, English and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject
  • Secured minimum of 50% marks aggregate in HSC

Eligibility criteria for J & K Migrant candidates

  • Student must be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology / Biology/ Technical Vocational subject
  • Secured minimum of 50% marks aggregate in HSC

Eligibility criteria for Candidates for the Wards of Defence Service Personnel

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra Karnataka Disputed Border (MKB) candidates

Students belonging to this area are required to fulfil following additional eligibility criterion-

  • Applicants belonging such villages/ towns, from the Maharashtra Karnataka disputed border areas, on which Maharashtra puts its claim.
  • Applicants should produce the certificate that his father/ mother/ candidate himself is a domicile of Karnataka in the disputed border area or else the he should produce the domicile certificate of his father/ mother/ candidate stating that he/she is a resident of a village.
  • Aspirants should have passed SSC (or equivalent) and/or HSC (or equivalent) from an Institution situate in the disputed border area. They have to produce a certificate from the Principal/ Head Master of the College/ School stating that the student has passed SSC/ HSC (or equivalent) Examination from that Institution.
  • Mother tongue of the applicant must be Marathi. He must produce a certificate from the Principal/ Head Master of the School from which he has passed the SSC (or equivalent) Examination, stating that his Mother tongue is Marathi as per the original School records.
  • Applicants should have passed SSC or HSC (or equivalent) Examination with Marathi as one of their subjects.
  • Composite Score of MKB aspirants will be calculated in the manner similar as applied to Maharashtra state board students considering that he has passed HSC from Maharashtra board.
  • Composite Score of MKB students will be calculated by mapping his HSC performance with Maharashtra state board.

Eligibility Criteria for specialized branches of Engineering/ Technology

Female candidates are not eligible for admission in Mining Engineering course.

Eligibility criteria for Diploma Candidates in Engineering and seeking admission in First Year of Engineering Degree Courses

my daughter does not reside in maharashtra and is doing her 12th from CBSE board in karnataka. my husband works at Solapur,maharashtra. is she eligible for mhcet?
