MH CET/MHT CET 2017 Application Form

MHT CET 2017 Application form is available now. Candidates can apply on DTE Maharashtra official website. General category and Foreign National Candidates will be required to pay an amount of INR 800(INR 600 for Reserved category candidates). The application fee is to be paid via offline mode (through challan) and the last date for fee payment is March 28, 2017.

MHT CET Admit Card will be available for download through official website from April 25, 2017 (onwards) till May 04, 2017. MHT CET 2017 Exam is scheduled to be held on May 11, 2017. Candidates, who wish to pursue the mentioned undergraduate courses from Maharashtra state, must complete their MHT CET 2017 Registration Procedure themselves before the last date i.e. March 22, 2017.

January 6, 2017- Engineering Aspirants have to apply for JEE Main 2017. DTE Maharashtra has released notification stating that for B.Tech admissions JEE Main score will be considered. 


How to Apply for MHT CET?

Candidates are required to register for MHT CET 2017 through ONLINE MODE ONLY. Candidates are advised to register before the last date. Mentioned steps should be followed for completing MHT CET 2017 Application Process.

Online Application Process

To apply, you must have to visit the official website, because the application form can be filled only online mode. A candidate wish to apply for this exam must use the following steps:

A. Go to the official website and click on the Apply Now tab in the header menu. This will redirect you to the MHT CET Application Form 2017 page on the official website.

B. You will be redirected to “application process instructions” page. You must read the instructions and click on the Apply Now button.

C. As you click on the Apply Now button the below window will appear on your computer screen. Fill all the details asked in the form.

Enter Your Personal Details:

  • Enter your first name (as mention in the 10th certificate). Don’t write your last name and surname
  • Enter your father/ husband name (as mention in the 10th certificate). Please don’t use prefix like Mr./ Shri.
  • Enter your last name/ surname (as mention in the 10th certificate)
  • Enter your mother name (as mention in the 10th certificate), and don’t use prefix like Mr./ Shri.
  • Select your gender
  • And fill your date of birth (as per the 10th certificate)

Enter your Contact Details:

  • Enter your address for correspondence
  • select state, enter pin code, and country
  • enter your mobile number (mandatory)
  • enter your permanent email id as well as secondary email id
  • select permanent residence type (Village/ Town/ City)
  • Nationality
  • Domicile – Candidate is a domicile of Maharashtra / Outside Maharashtra

Wherever required, refer to official documents to avoid mistakes in the MH CET 2017 Application Form.

Select Reservation Type:

  • Select your caste type for reservation
  • Select your certificate (which you have)

Fill Other Details (Religion, Income etc.)

  • Do you belong to – Def / MKB / PWD / HA / J&K migrant / Goa / Ward of employee of Maharashtra state govt. or undertaking / Ward of employee of Central govt. or undertaking
  • Select your religion
  • Tick on the box, if you have appeared for MHTCET exam/ other exam as given in the image. Or select None if not appeared
  • Tick on the appropriate button for total annual income
  • I have passed SSC with Urdu / Arabic / Persian subject

Keep checking that all the details you are entering in the MHT CET Application Form 2017 are correct and verifiable

Enter your Educational Details:

  • Select 10th class/ equivalent examination passed from Maharashtra or outside Maharashtra
  • Enter total marks obtained and percentage
  • Select 12th class/ equivalent examination passed from Maharashtra or outside Maharashtra
  • Enter institute name and fill the address of institute
  • Select your test centers

Details Required for MHT CET 2017:

  • Select the subject (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) to appear in CET 2017
  • You can select Min. 3 subject and Max. 4 subject
  • Physics and Chemistry is compulsory
  • Select the medium/ language of the question paper

Enter Password:

  • Enter your password
  • Password length must be minimum of 8 character and Maximum of 15 characters
  • Password must contain at least one upper case (A-Z), one lower case (a-z) and one numeric value (0-9)

After entering all the details as given above then the below screen will appear. You must read the declaration carefully and after that do the following:

  • Click on I Agree
  • Enter the security key (as given in picture)
  • And click on the Next button

As you click on the next button, the following confirmation page will appear on your computer screen. To avoid the mistakes, you must check and verify the entered data before final submission. Please note that the information highlighted in yellow in the confirmation screen will not be available for editing once you click on SUBMIT button.

  • If all the entered details are correct then tick on “I have verified all the details entered by me in the registration and want to submit the same”
  • If not correct then tick on “No I want to change some details”
  • Edit the data which is incorrect and after that
  • Tick on “I have verified all the details entered by me in the registration and want to submit the same”
  • Then Click on submit button

On clicking SUBMIT, the following message is shown. Click on the link that says “Click here to verify/view entered information”.

Edit Application Form:

You will be again asked to verify information. If there is any need to correct the information you can do it by clicking on EDIT. If all the data is correct want to proceed to the next step then click on “UPLOAD PHOTO AND SIGNATURE“.

Please note that no change in the three name fields (Candidate's First Name, Father's / Husband's First Name, Last Name), Date of Birth, Email and Mobile No is possible.

Steps to Upload Photo and Signature

After filling the online MHT CET 2017 application form, candidate has to upload the scanned photograph and signature image. If you click on the upload photo and signature button then the following page will open. Here you can click on upload photograph and upload signature as given in the below image.

After clicking on any one of the link (as appeared in above picture), the following screen will open. Upload your photo from computer and same for signature. If any issue in the photo or signature then click on clear selection and upload it again.

Click on continue for next step.

The candidate should follow the guidelines stated below while uploading the photograph and signature image.

Specification for Uploading Photograph:

  • Photo must be recent and colored passport size
  • Photo should be taken against a light white background
  • Photograph should be without goggles or cap. Spectacles are allowed
  • File format should be in .JPEG
  • Size of the photo should be maximum 50 KB
  • You can reduce the size, crop the image of photo by using MS Paint or any other photo editor

Specification for Uploading Signature:

  • Signature should be on white paper with black ink pen
  • Scan the image in 200 dpi (dots per inch) resolution setting
  • Size of the scan sign file should be maximum 50 KB
  • File format should be in .JPEG
  • You can reduce the size, crop the image of photo by using MS Paint or any other photo editor
  • Please ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper on which you have signed

After successfully uploaded the photo and signature, the system will show the uploaded Photograph and Signature on the screen. If they are correct, you can proceed further to generate the bank challan for the payment through 'State Bank of India'.

How to ensure that the Photograph and Signature are within 50 KB per file?

  • Should you have a digital or scanned photograph and signature, please open the same in MS Paint by right clicking the photographs
  • Press Ctrl + W, a window will open which will have an option 'resize by %'. Here enter anything between 10 to 50% and save the file with an extension .jpeg.
  • Check for the size of the file in 'properties'. If the file size is still higher than 50 KB, once again open in paint and resize it to bring it down to less than 50KB.
  • Repeat this process till the file size is less than 50 KB
  • Save this file with the file Name as mentioned above as photo .jpeg and sign .jpeg

Documents Required

Candidate who is going to fill the MHT CET Application form must have the following important things before starting the MHT CET 2017 Registration Process.

  • Must have a valid Email ID and active mobile number (Only one registration is allowed per email id and mobile number)
  • A scanned photograph and signature in .JPG format and size should be 50 KB (max.)
  • You must have your educational details (10th and 12th class)
  • A PC with good internet connection
  • A printer for taking print out of Bank challan for making payment through offline and filled application form.

Fee Payment Process

After uploading the scanned images of photo and signature, you need to pay the application fee, and it can be only paid via offline mode (through challan). Note that application fee is non-refundable.

Downloading Bank Challan:

  • Click on the link to print your Bank challan
  • Download the MHT CET 2017 bank challan
  • Take the printout of this challan on A4 size paper
  • The bank challan contain the Candidate Name, MHT CET 2017 Registration Number, Address, Date of Birth, and Contact Number
  • The printed bank challan is in two parts

Payment of Fee at State Bank of India (SBI) Branch:

After downloading the bank challan, you must go to the any SBI branch with this challan after 48 hours of registration to make the payment. On the printed bank challan, the bank will enter following details:

  • Date of payment, Journal Number/ Bank Transaction ID, Branch Name & Code
  • The bank officer will put a bank seal on each part of the bank challan
  • The bank will retain the Bank’s copy of the bank challan and return the rest copy of the bank challan to the candidate

MHT CET 2017 Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 800 for unreserved category and Rs 600 for SC/ST Category. Candidates have to submit it online. Note that fee is non refundable.

 Note: The bank will take the Rs. 60/- as a bank charges (bank commission) for each transaction. The fee is non-refundable.

Complete Online Application Form

After making the payment, you should open the MHT CET 2017 website and login through MHT CET 2017 registration number and Password to fill the payment details. It should be done after 24 hours of making the payment. After login to the website do the following:

  • Update Bank transaction ID Number
  • Date of payment
  • After that click on generate MHT CET Confirmation Page
  • A confirmation page will open
  • Save this page and take a printout of the same.

If any candidate does not receive the confirmation message within 24 hours of Registration, he/ she should check his/ her spam/junk folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there instead of his/her inbox. If not in spam/ junk folder then write a mail to admissions@mhtcet2017.co.in citing your primary email id or call us up on 0120-4055011 between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm on all working days. 


orgot Password?

If any candidate forgot his/ her login password of MHT CET 2017, don’t worry it can be easily retrieved by following some steps. For obtaining the password use the following steps:

Steps to Retrieve the MHT CET 2017 Forgot Password:

  • Open the MHT CET 2017 official website
  • Click on Login tab and then click on Forgot Password link
  • Candidate is required to enter details like MHT CET Application Number, Date of Birth and Mother's First Name as filled at the time of registration
  • The above data submitted by candidate will be validated with registered candidate's database
  • If the above entries match, only then the system will allow creating a new password

Process for Allotment of Exam Center

The center for examination will be allotted by Commissioner State CET CELL and it will be district place where the candidate passed /appearing 10th/ 12th/ equivalent examination. In the online application form facility for choice of examination center is available only for candidates pass/ appearing 10th/ 12th/ equivalent examination from outside the State of Maharashtra.

  • Each centre may have many "Venues" depending upon the number of candidates appearing at that centre
  • A candidate applying for MHT CET 2017 exam must enter his/ her preference for the exam centre, however the Competent Authority reserves the right to allocate the centre and venue
  • Competent Authority, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Examination Centres and/ or add some other Centres, at its discretion, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc.
  • Competent Authority also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any centre other than the one he/she has opted for
  • If sufficient number of candidates does not opt for a particular centre for "Online" examination, Competent Authority reserves the right to allot any other adjunct centre to those candidates OR if the number of candidates is more than the capacity available for online exam for  a centre, Competent Authority reserves the right to allot any other centre to the candidate
  • Any request for change of exam centre/ date/ time / and session will not be entertained at any circumstances
  • MHT CET 2017 Exam will be conducted at the venue given in the respective MHT CET 2017 Admit card

Process of Obtaining Unique Registration Number

After finishing your MHT CET 2017 registration process you shall get a unique MHT CET 2017 Registration number and a Password. And same will be sent to your registered email id. The email address that you enter in the registration form will be treated as your primary email address and all communications will also be sent to the same.  Please note that emails to candidate and Login on http://mhtcet2017.co.in (Accessed by MHT-CET Registration No. & password) will be the standard mode of communication, so please provide a valid and personal email id. Through this unique registration number and password, you can do the following things:

Class Validity Certification:

If the cast validity certificate (CVC) is pending or Non-creamy layer certificate (NCL) is pending, still the candidate must claim the Constitutional Reservation in original online application form. In case of Non production of CVC/NCL, the candidate will be automatically considered in general category at the time of document verification. Request for giving claim from general category to reserve category will not be entertained at any stage during the process.


Rejection of Application Form

Due to the following any one of the reason, your MHT CET 2017 Application form will be rejected.

  • An incomplete application form in any respect
  • If application form sent by post/ courier
  • If submit more than one application form than previous one will be rejected and last submitted application form along with fee payment will be treated as valid
  • Without uploading photo and signature
  • An incomplete application form in respect of without fee payment will be rejected

Reservation Information

The candidates desirous of claiming the constitutional and/or specified reservations must have claimed the same in the original online application form of MHTCET 2017, failing which the claim will not be entertained subsequently. A candidate belonging to backward class from Maharashtra state only is eligible for claiming seat under reserved category.

Maharashtra-Karnataka Disputed Border Area (MKB) Reservation:

If Candidates belong to Maharashtra-Karnataka Disputed border area, some seats are reserved for them. Eight seats in Government Medical Colleges, two seats in Government Dental Colleges and five seats in Government and Govt. aided Ayurvedic Colleges in Maharashtra are reserved on the following conditions:

(i). The candidate must be a domicile of place situated in the areas as specified in the list given below, and produce a domicile certificate from the District Collector accordingly.

(ii). He should have passed SSC (or equivalent) and/or HSC (or equivalent) examination from an Institution situated in the border area. The candidate must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head-Master of the College/School stating that candidate has passed SSC/HSC (or equivalent) examination from the Institution.

(iii). Mother tongue of the candidate must be Marathi. The candidate must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head-Master of the School from which he/she has passed the SSC (or equivalent) examination, stating that the candidate’s mother tongue is Marathi as per the original school record.
