Declaration of MHT CET 2017 Results

The result of the candidate will be based on the marks scored by him or her in the exam. This year, there is no negative marking in the exam. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate. They can check their results on the official website of Maharashtra CET 2017.

Merit List Preparation

The Merit list is prepared on the basis of rank obtained by students in the particular program of entrance test that they had applied for. Scores are calculated with the help of a formula where each correct question of Physics, Biology and Chemistry is given one marks while of mathematics is given two. There is no negative marking for any number of incorrect answers. Only those students who acquire qualifying marks are placed in merit. 50% of marks need to be obtained to qualify for MBBS and BDS courses in open category while 45% is required in reservation quota as well as for persons with disability in General category.

Process of Marks Re-evaluation

There is a process of re-evaluating marks obtained in the MHT-CET if candidate is apprehensive about the marks allotted to him/her. If he/she wishes to get his/her Answer sheet evaluated, an application in prescribed Performa (Annexure ‘L’), along with self-addressed unstamped envelope (9”X 4.5”) should be submitted to any Divisional Authority. This needs to be done within 4 days of declaration of the result of MHT-CET 2017. The verification of re-evaluation could only be processed if a Demand Draft of Rs.1000/- is drawn in the favor of “Commissioner, State CET CELL, Mumbai”. The students are sent the photocopy of the answer sheet as well as model answer key by the Commissioner State CET CELL through registered post.

Tie breaking of MHT CET 2017

In case of equal marks secured by the candidates in MHT CET 2017, the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding inter se-merit,

  • First Level: A candidate with higher total of uncorrected marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the entrance exam shall be preferred, if the tie still persists then,
  • Second Level: A candidate with higher marks in Biology in MHT CET 2017 shall be preferred, if the tie still persists then.
  • Third Level: A candidate with higher marks in Chemistry in MH CET Medical 2017 examination shall be preferred, if the tie still persists then.
  • Fourth Level: A candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks at the SSC examination shall be preferred, if the tie still persists  then.
  • Fifth Level: An older candidate shall be preferred over the younger candidate

On the basis of MHT CET 2017 Result, the exam conducting authority will release a merit list for all the qualified candidates as per their categories. The merit list will be declared on June 14, 2017.

CAP counseling

For MHT CET 2017, the process of counseling would begin in July 2017. This counseling session would mean the officials get to talk with the candidates to decide which colleges they can get an admission. For example, a candidate who has scored average marks would be given a list of average colleges that he or she can be eligible. The counseling is also known as Centralized admission process or the CAP.

MH CET also known as Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. It is an umbrella term under which the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra organizes various entrance exams for admission to under graduate and post graduate degree courses in health sciences, engineering & technology, pharmacy and management. MH CET results are going to be declared in the months of March-June, 2017.

There is a centralized admission process or CAP where rounds will be organized for the counseling and allocation of colleges to the students. There are three exams conducted under MH CET, i.e. MHT CET, MAH-MBA/MMS CET and MH-MCA CET. MHT CET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is one of the most looked out opportunity for engineering, medical and pharmacy aspirants while MAH-MBA/MMS CET exam is held for admission to MBA and management studies. MAH-MCA CET examination is conducted for students who desire to acquire a degree in MCA.

These examinations are conducted to select deserving students for government and private institutions in the state of Maharashtra. The exam forms are available online on the DMER and DTE websites. The forms are usually available in the first week of March and exam takes place in the month of May. The basic eligibility for the entrance exam of MHT CET is XII standard or at least students appearing in XII examination while graduation with at least 50% of aggregate is required to apply for MAH-MCA CET as well as for MAH-MBA/MMS CET. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for MH CET

MAH CET 2017 Result

The result of MAH CET 2017 will be declared on March 29, 2017 at 5 PM. After the completion of the counseling rounds, the final merit list will be declared in the second week of June, 2017.

Merit List Preparation

The Merit list is prepared on the basis of rank obtained by students in the particular program of entrance test that they had applied for. After the MAHCET 2017 Result, DTE declare the cutoffs for the participating institutes. The next step is the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) or the counseling rounds. Some of the institutes even conduct their own admission procedure. JBIMS is one of them. The merit list is prepared in the descending order of state merit number, regional merit number, category merit number. The students are preferred respectively.

Tie breaking for MAH-CET 2017

The following order of preference is considered while preparation of merit list during a tie-breaker:

Maharashtra State Seats

The following order of preference is considered for calculation of the relative merit in case of equal score and equal percentile by the candidate in MAH-CET 2017 examination:

  • Candidate with higher percentage of marks scored in the aggregate at the HSC (Std. XII) or its equivalent examination shall be preferred first; if still tie persists then
  • Candidate with higher percentage of the marks scored in the aggregate at the SSC (Std. X) or any equivalent examination will get preference; if still tie exists then
  • Birth date of the candidate is brought into consideration then candidates older in age will get preference.

All India Seats and J&K Migrants Seats

In case of equal score and equal percentile of the candidate in the MAH-CET 2017 examination, the following sequence of preference is considered for determining the merit list for the candidates:

  • Candidates with higher percentage of aggregate marks scored in the HSC (Std. XII) or any equivalent examination will get preference; if the tie exists then
  • Candidates with higher percentage of the marks scored in the aggregate at the SSC (Std. X) or its equivalent examination shall be preferred; if the tie still persists then
  • Birth date of the candidate i.e. candidates who are older in age will be considered.

CAP Counseling

Post declaration of the result, the next step is MAH-CET 2017 Counseling. It is conducted by the DTE, Maharashtra. It commences from May 16, 2017 and extends till June 01, 2017. The counseling process includes verification of documents, updating and confirmation of Application Form for admission at various ARCs.

MAH MCA-CET 2017 Results

How to Check MAH CET 2017 Result

  • The result of MAH-MCA-CET 2017 will be displayed on the website. The result will indicate marks obtained by the candidate in the CET. The result will display two separate lists of eligible and not eligible candidates.
  • It shall be responsibility of the candidate to keep abreast of notifications displayed on the official website of DTE Maharashtra, from time to time and follow the instructions given therein. To check MAH-MCA-CET result, candidate must retain the application number which is required to log in to DTE Maharashtra.

Merit List Preparation

The Merit list is prepared on the basis of rank obtained by students in the particular program of entrance test that they had applied for. Candidates who secure non zero non negative marks are assigned State Level General Merit Number, Home University Merit Number, Category Merit No. in descending manner. Each OMS candidate who secures non-zero non-negative marks is assigned OMS merit number. Each J& K who secure a seat are assigned J & K State Level Merit Number. Separate merit list is prepared accordingly.

Tie breaking of MAH-MCA-CET 2017

If there is a tie breaker in the number of marks obtained by two or more students in the entrance exam of MAH MCA CET, the students are checked for the scores at higher secondary level, i.e. XII. If the tie still exists, then students with higher aggregate of percentage in X Standard. Yet there is a last provision of checking students’ marks obtained in the subject of Mathematics at SSC or equivalent level.

Important features of first three CAP Rounds for Maharashtra State Candidates

  • Allotment for Home University (HU) seats will be done on basis of inter se merit of University area/ Maharashtra State merit list. Seat will be allotted to candidates considering the two following conditions - firstly the institutes preferred by candidates and secondly availability of seat at that point of time.
  • Candidates who secure seats are required to confirm the admission by reporting at the concerned institute along with all needed on or before specified date for the same.

Important features of first two CAP Rounds for outside Maharashtra State (OMS) Candidates

  • Two rounds of direct allotment of seats will be conducted via online mode as per inter se merit of candidates.
  • Final seat allotment list will be displayed on the official website of DTE after MAH MCA CET result declaration.
  • Candidates who secure seat allotment are required to confirm the admission by reporting at the concerned institute along with all needed on or before specified date for the same.

Important features of Admission Round by Counseling for J&K Migrant Candidates

For this round, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Munshi Nagar, Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra will act as Admission Authority. Admissions shall be granted by offline Counseling mode. Candidates willing to seek admission have to report in-person at SPIT Mumbai campus premises. Candidates have to confirm admission by paying the required amount of course fee at respective institute.

IV CAP Round- Counselling round for Maharashtrian Candidates Only

In this round, all vacant OMS seat will be merged to Maharashtra State seats.

Candidates, whose names have appeared in eligible candidates for CAP IV round list, are allowed to participate in the Counseling process. Eligible candidates have to report in-person at concerned venue.

Candidates have to confirm admission by paying nonrefundable fee of Rs 10000/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of “The Director, Technical Education” payable at Mumbai”. Remaining fee will be deposited at respective institute.

Overview of the Result

The exams as well as the results are declared by Directorate of Technological Education. The results of MH CET are declared in the month of March to June. The admission is offered in the colleges on the basis of common entrance test. The result based on the merit list that is prepared after the verification of the marks of students. There is no negative marking in the entrance exam. There is a provision of applying for verification of marks. Students are allotted seats only after their marks have been verified and counseling session practiced. There is a direct allotment of seats after a centralized counseling session for Maharashtra State Candidates. There are three rounds of CAP conducted for the allotment of seats.


MHT CET 2017 Relaxation

There is a special relaxation of overall as well as entrance marks for students applying through reservation quota. A candidate belonging to constitutional reservation and constitutional reservation with Person with Disability (PWD) are given 10 % relaxation in marks as the qualifying marks for open category is 50 %. Thus, a student acquiring reservation must not secure less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the MHT-CET-2017. On the other hand, Person with Disability in a General category is given 5% relaxation and thus must not secure less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together in the MHT-CET- 2017.


MAH MCA CET 2017 And MAH MBA/MMS CET 2017

The list preparation for the reservation candidates is based on the percentages of the seats available for Maharashtra candidatures which come under the purview of the Competent Authority in the Government Aided/University Dept. / Unaided Non-Minority Institutions. There is no reservation for backward class category candidates In Unaided Minority Institutes. Yet reservation could be availed under CAP by backward class candidate with the consent of management institute. The SC category as well as the SC coverts to Buddhism has 13.0% of seat allocated to them in the merit list. Scheduled Tribes has 7.0 % while Vimukta Jati & Denotified Tribes (VJ/DT) i.e. NT (A) has 3.0%. There is 19 % percent reservation for OBC candidates. Therefore, the total percent of reserved seats is 50%.

MH CET 2017 Counselling

Thus, MH CET or Maharashtra Entrance exams results are based on the merit list prepared by the Directorate of Technical Education and students are further called in for the process of counseling. There is a provision of Centralized Process Admission wherein students are called in for counseling and allocation of colleges based on the merit list prepared after determining their scores in entrance examinations. The provisional merit list is displayed on the website. Students can contact for the discrepancies found in the merit list. The counseling takes place for the candidates who have qualified the entrance examination. The students are required to score marks more than or equal to the cutoff declared by the Maharashtra government. The counseling usually commences after two weeks of declaration of the results and probably held in 3rd week of June. The candidates who are called in for the counseling session are eligible for the further process. They are required to mark the choices of colleges and courses in the descending order of preference. It is mandatory to reach the counseling venue on the exact date and time allotted by the exam governing body in order to qualify your for final admission formalities. If a candidate is unable to reach for the counseling, he is marked as absent. Further, candidates are required to be physical present at the counseling venue for the seat allotment process. All the necessary documents and certificates are needed to establish authenticity and seal the admission.


MHT CET 2017 Overview

MHT CET exam or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is an entrance exam conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for admissions in different colleges of Maharashtra. It is classified in three sections:

  • This year, DTE is conducting a combined “Common Entrance test” MHT-CET 2017 on May 5, 2017 for admissions in engineering/pharmacy/ Health Sciences graduation degree.
  • MAH-CET 2017 will be conducted on March 12, 2017 and March 13, 2017 for two year post graduate MBA and MMS courses.
  • MAH MCA CET 2017 will be conducted on March 27, 2017 for three year postgraduate MCA degree.

Interested candidates must have cleared all the eligibility criteria to apply for all the above MH CET 2017. You can download the application forms from the official website of MHCET. For filling the forms, you must have a valid email id, mobile number and a password. The forms have been out since quite some time and are getting filled by many students around India.
