LSAT 2017 Application Process

LSAT India (Law School Admission Test India) is a national level admission test, which is conducted by Pearson VUE for Law School Admission Council (LSAC) every year. LSAT India test scores are accepted by as many as 61 law schools in the country for admission to the various law programmes offered by them at undergraduate and postgraduate level- BA L.L.B, L.L.B. and L.L.M.

LSAT India 2017 will be conducted on May 21, 2017 and will be administered in 16 cities across the country. The registration window for the LSAT India 2017 commences from May, 2017 and the mode of registration is online only. The registration fee for LSAT India 2017 is INR 3800 and it could be paid in both online and offline mode. LSAT India is conducted in a paper and pencil format.

Taking the LSAT India 2017 does not secure admission in the associate law colleges. Taking the test will only provide the candidates with their LSAT India score and using the LSAT India registration number and the LSAT India Scores, the candidates will have to apply to each desired law college separately.

Important Dates for LSAT 2017

The registration for LSAT India 2017 can be done through online mode or offline mode (by sending a Demand Draft). Accordingly the Registration windows are different. The LSAT 2017 important dates are given below:

LSAT India 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are required to fulfil the minimum requirements of both the minimum academic qualification and the age, as mentioned below to be eligible to take the LSAT India 2017.

If a candidate registers for LSAT India 2017 and then finds that he or she is ineligible for admission to the intended law school, no test fee would be refunded.  Hence, candidates should check the eligibility criteria of LSAT India 2017 before applying.

Academic Qualification: Candidates must qualify XII standard of 10+2 educational system / Higher Secondary School (HSC) Examination or equivalent examination from a recognized educational board with minimum passing marks.

Candidates must note that that the minimum passing marks could vary for different law schools and they should check with each LSAT India 2017 participating institute for the minimum passing marks requirement.

Age: Candidates must be of a definite age at the time of application/ admission. Every participating law school of LSAT India 2017 would specify the same. They should check with each LSAT-India 2017 participating institute, the minimum and maximum age required for LSAT-India 2017 applications.

LSAT India 2017 Registration Fee

The registration fee for LSAT India is INR 3800.

There is also combo offer available of buying the ‘Official LSAT India Handbook’ along with the LSAT 2017 registration for Rs. 4250.

Mode of payment of LSAT India Registration fee:

There are two modes of payment of LSAT India 2017 Registration Fee: online and offline.

Online Mode of Payment:

The payment of the registration fee can be made online through credit card (only through Visa and Master Card credit cards, issued in India).

Offline mode of Payment:

The payment of the registration fee can be made offline through Pay Order/ Bankers’ Cheque. The candidate is required to enter the  pay order/ banker's cheque details online, obtain an online acknowledgement, and mail the physical  PO/ Banker's cheque, along with the acknowledgement, to the following address.

The demand draft is to be drawn in the name of ‘Pearson India Education Services Private Limited’ payable at New Delhi or Noida.
Candidates must ensure that they mail the Demand Draft early enough to be delivered on or before the last date for registration.

Registration Process for LSAT India 2017

Candidates can register for LSAT India 2017 online only at The registration fee however, can be paid in both online and offline mode.

Candidates must note that registration is only for taking the LSAT India 2017 and in order to apply to the intended law colleges, they must do so for each participating college individually.

They must ensure that they also download/ obtain the respective application forms from the associated colleges and provide the LSAT India registration number in the Application Form of the associated colleges. They must also check the eligibility requirements of the associate college, where they wish to apply before taking the LSAT India 2017. Once the candidate has paid the registration fee, it will not be refunded.

Steps for LSAT India 2017 Registration

1) Log on to

2) Click ‘Apply for LSAT India 2017’.
3) Fill the LSAT India registration by providing the required details.

4) Upload the scanned photograph and signature.

5) Pay the registration fee using offline or online mode.

Upon successful registration, an LSAT India registration number will be generated. Candidates will be needed to mention this LSAT India registration number when they are submitting the individual application forms to the participating colleges.

Registration for LSAT India 2017 for candidates with disabilities

  • Candidates who require special assistance must provide the necessary details in the LSAT India 2017 application form at the time of online registration.
  • Such candidates are required to scan the Disability Certificate and to email it with their LSAT— India registration number and name to, after submitting the online registration form and before the last date of registration.
  • Any request and/ or certificate received after the last date of registration will not be accepted.
  • Candidates who require scribe/ reader must submit the scribe details on the prescribed format. Such candidates will be needed to arrange for the scribe/ reader on their own, as per the provided guidelines.
  • Every application is reviewed individually. Candidates are contacted to ensure that they receive proper assistance on the test day.
  • If a candidate did not fulfil any of the eligibility criteria or is found to have suppressed material facts, the candidature of that applicant will be cancelled.

Photograph Specifications for LSAT India 2017

While filling the LSAT India 2017 online registration application form, candidates will have to upload their recent photograph, according to the following guidelines:

  • Format: JPEG format only
  • Dimensions: 200 pixels high by 150 pixels wide
  • Size: Should not exceed 500 KB
  • White or light coloured background.
  • Eyes should be open and clearly visible.
  • Face should be distinctly visible, straight and at the centre. Shoulder tops should also be clear in the photo.
  • Should not be more than 6 months old.

The following photos will not be accepted and shall be liable for rejection:

  • Facebook type of photos and/ or photos not complying with the above mentioned specifications
  • Photos where the candidate is wearing cap or goggles
  • Photos with dark background

Important Instructions regarding LSAT India 2017 Registration Process

  • The registration for LSAT India 2017 will be done in online mode only at
  • The online registration window is different according to the mode of payment of the registration fee. The online registration will close at 11:59 pm IST on May 3, 2017 for online payment mode and on May 2017 for offline payment mode.
  • In case a candidate is submitting the registration fee offline through Demand draft/ Pay Order/ Bankers’ Cheque, he or she must ensure that their DD/ PO/ BC reaches the mentioned LSAT office address on or before the last date of registration. No requests of delay in post will be entertained.
  • confirmation of the Registration completion and the payment acceptance will be sent by e-mail only.
  • The registration forms received without the required registration fee, or without the necessary details, or received after the last date will be rejected and no queries will be entertained in that regard.
  • Candidates must check that the information provided by them is correct and complete in all respects. If at a later stage, a candidate is found to have supplied incorrect information, then the test score will be cancelled and the associated law colleges will be informed of the same.
  • Candidates must upload their photographs according to the guidelines, otherwise the registration will be cancelled on the grounds of incomplete application form.
  • There is no on- the- spot registration for the LSAT— India on the day of the test. Hence, candidates must follow the proper procedure of the online registration to be able to take the test.
  • Only one registration by a candidate is allowed. Duplicate registrations will be rejected.
  • The LSAT India online application form filling process allows the candidates to save the registration form without submitting it. However, once the registration form is submitted, no changes can be made to the form except the educational qualifications and the associated college information.
  • Candidates must ensure that they have provided the correct email ID and other contact details as these will be used for all correspondence regarding the LSAT India 2017 and these details cannot be changed at a later stage.
  • If a candidate registers online using a credit card which does not belong to him or her, the candidate must provide a signed statement from the credit card holder according to the format given below.

The candidate will be needed to print the following statement, get it filled and signed by the credit card holder, and carry the physical signed statement, along with the credit card that was used for the transaction, for the signature verification, to the test venue on the day of the exam, otherwise the candidate will not be allowed to take the test. These instructions will be sent to the candidates via the email ID provided on the registration form, at the time of successful registration also.

According to Pearson VUE, as many as 68 law colleges in India accept the  LSAT India 2017 test scores for admission in their law programmes.
