KMAT KERALA 2017 PATTERN & SYLLABUS
STATE LEVEL ONLINE TEST
KMAT Kerala Exam Pattern 2017 provides details about syllabus, distribution of questions, marking scheme, distribution of marks, time duration etc. KMAT Kerala (Kerala Management Admission Test) will contain 180 questions of objective type. The exam will be conducted in offline mode i.e. pen-paper based test. This year, the duration of exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
KMAT Kerala 2017 paper is segregated into 4 sections namely English Language Usage & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency & Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge & Contemporary Business Scenario. The medium of examination is English. As for KMAT Marking Scheme, 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
MG University conducts KMAT Kerala two times in a year. The first phase of KMAT Kerala 2017 was conducted on November 06, 2016 across all the 7 districts of Kerala. The results were available for download up to May 31, 2016. Now, Phase 2 of KMAT Kerala is scheduled on April 02, 2017. The pattern of state level exam is defined by Admission Supervisory / Fee Regulatory Committee for Professional Colleges of Kerala. For the academic session 2017-18, MG University will hold the exam. There are 4 sections for KMAT Kerala. They are as follows:
Section 1: English Language and Reading Comprehension
Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude
Section 3: Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning and
Section 4: General Knowledge and Contemporary Business Scenario

There are total 180 questions divided into 4 sections. Candidates have to circle one out of four options given in the paper. According to KMAT Kerala 2017 Marking Scheme, each question carries 4 marks. For every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded. Candidates should not leave any question unanswered as there is no provision of negative marking. The below table represents the marking scheme for all sections of KMAT Kerala Exam Pattern.

Total time duration of KMAT Kerala 2017 is 2 and ½ hours. A candidate must divide the total time according to no. of sections in the test. Otherwise, he/she might fail to complete the test in time. KMAT Kerala Syllabus for the test is similar to that of other MBA entrance exams like CAT or CMAT. KMAT Kerala 2017 Syllabus is based on the following 4 subjects.
There will be total 50 questions from this section. This section primarily involves questions from topics such as English grammar, Vocabulary and Language Usage, Comprehension Passage, etc. Some of the key topics in this section are mentioned below.
Quantitative Aptitude section can prove to be the most scoring section. It is only possible if a candidate has a clear understanding of the crucial concepts of Mathematics and the knowledge of various Mathematical formulae. The questions are based on topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Mensuration, Calculus, Geometry. There are total 50 questions in Quantitative Aptitude section.
In this section, candidates need to go through various data sets and derive the correct answer by analyzing the pattern or data structure. The questions are framed in the form of various graphs, pie charts, charts in the data sufficiency section.
Logical Reasoning- Logical Reasoning requires an application of some common problem-solving principles as well as a strong analytical bent of mind. The key topics for Logical Reasoning are: Blood Relations, Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Propositions, Data Arrangement, Puzzles, Assumptions, Statements
This section carries 40 marks in total. The candidates should have a habit of reading newspapers, business journals, and magazines regularly to gain a stronghold over this subject.
