KEAM 2017 Exam Pattern

KEAM 2017 is scheduled on April 24, 2017 and April 25, 2017(Tentative)KEAM is a pen and paper based test. The KEAM Exam Pattern is of MCQ – Multiple Choice Question format. The question paper is set in English Medium.

The duration of KEAM 2017 is 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It consists of two papers: Paper 1- Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2- Mathematics according to the courses the candidate has opted for. There are total 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the exam of total 480 marks.

A candidate has to score a minimum of 10 marks each in Paper 1 and Paper 2 to qualify KEAM 2017. The students who do not score the minimum marks will not get their name listed in the merit list. KEAM 2017 Exam Highlights

KEAM 2017 Marking Scheme

A candidate will be rewarded 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. No marks will be rewarded or deducted if a question is not attempted. In case a candidate marks multiple answers to a question in the OMR sheet, then 1 mark will be deducted.

The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours. No extra time will be given to the candidate in any condition to complete the paper. There are total 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in KEAM 2017. A candidate can score maximum 480 marks in the paper.

A candidate who has not attempted even a single question is liable to get disqualified. The OMR Sheet consists of details like name and roll number of the candidate, Question paper set code and signature of the candidate with the date.


KEAM Syllabus 2017

The KEAM 2017 will follow the syllabus of 10+2 level. The syllabus for the exam will be declared by CEE Kerala. A candidate has to study Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for Engineering Stream.

Qualifying Marks for KEAM 2017

Minimum Marks Required for Qualifying KEAM 2017

A candidate has to score a minimum 10 marks each in Paper 1 and Paper 2 to qualify KEAM 2017. The KEAM Merit list does not include the names of those students who do not score the minimum marks. A candidate who has not marked any answer to even a single question is liable to get disqualified. SC/ST category students need not score minimum marks to qualify KEAM 2017 except for MBBS/BDS courses.

Qualifying Standards for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses

  • A general category student should score minimum 50% marks in the medical entrance exam taken together in Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • An SC/ST/SEBC category student should score minimum 40% marks medical entrance exam taken together in Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • A candidate with Locomotory Disability of lower limbs ranging from 40% to 70% must score minimum 45% marks in medical entrance exam taken together in Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Qualifying Standards for admission to Architecture Course

  • As per the Council of Architecture, the candidates must score 80 marks out of 200 in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
  • The candidates must successfully clear NATA before June 05, 2017.

KEAM Question Papers
