How to Apply for KCET 2017

KEA conducts KCET or Karnataka Common Entrance Test for admission to professional courses in various private and government colleges in the state of Karnataka. The online application process starts from January 27, 2017 and the last date to enter application details online is February 27, 2017.  The last date to make the fee payment at the bank is March 03, 2017. The admit card will be available for downloading from  4th Week of March, 2017.

The CET (Common Entrance Test ) is conducted for admission to courses in several streams such as Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy and Yoga, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Sciences.

KCET 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on May 02, 2017 And May 03, 2017. The steps wise details to apply for KCET is mentioned below for the reference of candidates.

How to Apply for KCET 2017

The application form is available online in online mode only. The following are the steps to apply online:

  • Go to official website
  • Click on the link CET-2017- UG Online Application
  • On the next webpage, click on New User? Click Here to Register
  • On the next webpage, the Registration Page will be available. The candidates are required to submit all the mandatory information in the Registration Page form and submit the application. And fill the required details: Candidate Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, Date of birth, Contact no., Email id & User id and password is created.
  • Once the submission is complete, the candidates will be issued an application number and a user id. This information will be delivered through the means of SMS on their registered mobile number and also a mail shall be sent on their email id.
  • The next step requires the candidate to login with the help of the user id and password.

Note: If the candidate has forgotten his/her password, then they must click on forgot password tab. After clicking on this, a new password can be created by entering the details like User Name, Application No. and the secret answer. The candidate will be then redirected to a new webpage where a new password can be created easily.

  • The next webpage displayed will require the candidate to fill in the “Student Information” for example category, mother tongue, religion, annual income, eligibility clause, etc.
  • The next step is to save all the information by clicking on “save and next” button.
  • After saving the application, the candidate is then required to fill in the “Study Details” which include address of the school or college last attended, classes studied, year of study from and to, year of passing and then the academic details like marks obtained in class 10th and 12th etc.
  • The next step will require the candidate to upload a scanned copy of the passport size photograph, candidate signature, candidate left hand thumb impression and parent signature. The passport size photograph should be of 3.5cm by 4.5cm in size. All the scanned copies must be in jpg/jpeg format, greater than 5kb and not more than 40kb. The signature and the left thumb impression  must be of 3.5cm by 1.5cm only.
  • Once the uploading part is complete, click on “save and next” button.
  • After completing the online application process, the candidates are required to take the draft print out and check the document carefully for all the details. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate can login at any point of time and change the details before selecting the declaration.The last step of the online application process requires the candidate to select the declaration, go through the entire document thoroughly and understand it completely before selecting the “Submit” button.

Application Fee for KCET 2017

The application fee is to be submitted by the candidate once the online application process is completed. The fee is submitted through a bank challan at the respective bank branch. After completing the application process, the candidate is required to print the bank challan which is in triplicate. These three copies are the bank copy, the candidate copy and the KEA copy.

The candidate is required to submit the fee at the specified bank branch. After the payment is done, the bank official shall keep the bank copy with himself/herself and return the two other copies to the candidate.

The application fee for candidates of Karnataka origin is:

The different banks where candidates can pay the fees are:

  1. State Bank of Mysore
  2. State Bank of Hyderabad
  3. Indian Bank
  4. Axis Bank
  5. State Bank of India

Once the declaration is submitted, no further changes in the application form can be made. The candidates are then required to download and print the bank challan and make the payment at the respective bank branch.

The payment shall be done at the specified bank branch with the help of the challan. The candidate shall be returned two copies of the challan, i.e. the candidate copy and the KEA copy once the payment is done and the bank official shall keep the bank copy.

After the payment of fees, the candidate is required to take a print of the application form on an A-4 sheet and affix the recent passport size photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression on the space provided for the same.

The candidates are then supposed to get the application form duly attested by the Principal from the college where they have studied 2nd PUC or 12th Standard. The space is provided on the form for Principal seal and signature. The attestation can also be done by Gazetted Officer in the space provided.

This original copy of the attested form must be retained by the candidate and must be produced at the time of the document verification along with the copy of the KEA Challan Copy.
