KEA has announced that the counseling procedure for admission into engineering institutions will be conducted first week of June 2017 onwards, for students who will meet the cutoffs for this year. Nearly 1.5 lakh students compete every year to secure a seat in across 220 engineering colleges in Karnataka.
Candidates who would have been assigned ranks in KCET 2017 will have to contact the nearest KCET Helpline Centers as declared by KEA for Verification of their Documents. In 2015, 13 KEA Helpline Centers were operational and helpline centers in the same range are expected this year as well.
While the detailed Counselling procedure for admission year 2017 has not been declared by KEA, we provide you with the KCET Counselling Procedure for 2015 to abreast you with the scenario and the steps to follow to ease your way through securing admission in a prestigious college under KEA. Candidates should constantly check the official KEA website and inbox of their registered email IDs for any important updates.
The candidates should carry all necessary documents and certificates in original, self-attested and otherwise xerox copes for the purpose of verification to the KCET 2017 Counselling venue. These documents would be checked with great detail and admission would be subject to cancellation if all the documents are not produced properly and in the right condition by the candidate.
Keep the following checklist handy at the time of verification. Arrange all your original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies in the sequential order shown below and produce the same on the verification counter when you go for verification of documents:
*DDPI: Deputy Director of Instruction Office
*BEO: Block Education Officer
The following documents should be produced only IF Applicable:
Note : CBSE, CISCE, J & K candidates need to produce the study certificate obtained from the Principal of their respective schools. Countersign from DDPI/ BEO is not required
The following are the usual helpline centres setup by KEA for Candidate Document Verificaton Process.
The potential candidates must bring all original and self- attested documents without any hiccups as document issues on the day of verification may lead to the candidate not being able to register and hence, not being eligible to carry out the filling of options process
You need to carry all your original documents for verification but only the photocopies of your certificates and documents will be retained by the KEA. The originals will be safely handed over to you by the official at the helpline center along with a verification slip, once the candidate data is fed into the online portal linked to KEA server.
Apart from the original documents and certificates, you will be given a verification slip and an acknowledgement. Before leaving the verification counter, make sure that all the entries on the verification slip are valid and that nothing is missing. In case of any discrepancy report to the Verification official immediately.
Note: Once the verification process is completed, the candidate cannot request any changes to the data.
