JEECE 2018 Exam Pattern

JEECE 2018 is expected to be conducted in offline mode in the first week of May 2018. The questions asked in the exam are objective type in nature.

  • The duration of JEECE is 3 hours.
  • The exam is conducted in two sessions on the same day.
  • There are 150 questions in the exam divided equally into 3 sections.
  • The sections are- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates have to mark their answers by darkening the circle of their choice in the OMR Sheet.
  • For every correct answer, 1 mark will be given to the candidate while no mark is given for unanswered questions.
  • Candidates lose 0.25 mark for every wrong answer.

Candidates will be asked questions from topics from Class XI and XII CBSE Syllabus. Given below are the important topics from each section in JEECE 2018:

  • Important Topics in Mathematics- 3D and Vectors, Quadratic Equation, Probability, Sequence and Series, Complex Number, Application of Derivatives, Differential Calculus.
  • Important Topics in Physics- Modern Physics, Heat and Thermodynamics, SHM & Waves, Rotational Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Current Electricity, Electrostatics.
  • Important Topics in Chemistry- Chemical Bonding and Periodic Table, Periodic Properties, Carbonyl Compounds & their derivatives, Basics of Organic Chemistry, Mole Concept & the concept of equivalents, Solid state, Thermo Chemistry & the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

JEECE (Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination) is a state level examination which is held by JCECEB for admission into B.E/B.Tech programs offered by various Engineering colleges in the state of Jharkhand.


JEECE 2018 Exam Pattern Highlights

JEECE Exam is organized in pen and paper mode at the allocated JEECE Exam Centers. The duration of the exam is 3 hours divided into two sessions of 2 hours and 1 hour. There are questions from topics of Physics and Chemistry in the first session while questions from Mathematics are asked in the second session. JEECE 2018 Marking Scheme 

Knowing about the marking scheme is a crucial bit of information that helps a candidate in planning his attempts in the question paper. Details regarding the marking scheme of JEECE 2018 are mentioned below.

  • Each of the 150 questions (Paper-1 plus Paper-2) carries equal mark that is one mark each.
  • One mark is awarded for each right answer whereas 0.25 marks are deducted for a wrong one.
  • All unanswered questions are not marked

Note: OMR Sheets provided to the candidates during the exam are machine gradable sheets. They are highly scrutinized before declaring the result.


JEECE 2018 Syllabus

The syllabus of the exam is by and large based on the syllabus of class XI and XII for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each subject covers 50 questions in the paper. Knowledge of syllabus is the first thing a candidate must acquire before starting preparations as; it is like a guiding compass that will guide you through your preparations.  

Since the pattern and syllabus of JEECE exam is quite similar to the other engineering entrance exam like JEE Main, JEE Advance, BITSAT, WBJEE etc. candidates can follow the standard books prescribed for premier exams like JEE Main and Advance. Instructions to be Followed on Exam Day

Candidates should pay attention to the following Instructions to avoid any unforeseen circumstances on the day of exam.

  • Make proper arrangements of things to be carried like Admit card, stationery, Photo ID etc. beforehand.
  • Visit the exam venue 45 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam.
  • Bubble the OMR sheet as per the instructions given on the back of the sheet.
  • Do not carry any electronics items like mobile, calculators etc. with you on exam day.
  • Take your time in reading the instructions on the question paper so as to avoid any mistake.
  • Be calm and attentive while answering the questions. This would help you in increasing your efficiency and accuracy.
