Candidates who are selected in JEE Main 2017 and JEE Advanced are eligible to participate in the counselling process. JoSAA will consider the following points before allotting the seat to the candidates.
Candidates need to produce the following documents at the time of document verification. All the original documents and certificates should be produced. Any failure to bring any or all the documents mentioned will cancel the admission and the candidate will lose their right to claim the admission.
JEE 2017 Seat Allotment is purely based on the merit and the choices made by the candidates. If the candidate rejects the seat allotted once, he will not be allowed to participate in the further rounds of the counselling process. First three rounds of the seat allotment will be conducted by JoSAA. The fourth round which is a special round of counselling is conducted by CSAB. The selected candidates must follow the following steps to participate in the JEE 2017 Counselling:
JEE Main spot counselling will be held if the seats are vacant after all the round of the usual rounds of counselling. However, the candidates do not need to apply freshly to participate in the Spot Round Counselling. The candidates who did not get allotted any seat after all the usual rounds of the counselling will be participating in the Spot Counselling of JEE 2016. Candidates who did not apply for the usual rounds of allotment can make a fresh application for Spot Counselling of JEE Main. Candidates who are applying fresh will have to lock the choices and make the payment of the fee before the last date.
According to JEE Main 2017 JoSAA, Dual Reporting is the one time chance to switch the allocated seat. The candidate will be given a chance to apply again for the Counselling and then fill their choices. Dual Reporting is reporting twice to switch the allocated seat from one institute to another. Candidates can dual report when they want to change the allotment from NIT + System Changes to an IIT/ ISM. If the candidate is allocated seat in NITs, IIITs or Other GFTIs but looking forward to confirming the allocated seat in IITs/ISM, in the next round of counselling, are required report once again at IIT/ISM Reporting Center. Same has to be done by the candidates who wish to leave the seat in IIT/ISM, to confirm the seat allocated in NITs + System Change. He/she will also have to report again at the NITs + System Change Reporting Center. Any failure to do so, the candidates will end up losing the seat in both NIT + System Change and IIT/ISM.
