JEE Advanced result 2017 will be available online on the JEE portal. You can check your result by the following simple steps-
The Optical Response Sheet (ORS) will be checked and graded with extreme care. Candidates who have appeared for both the Papers will only be able to check their ORS. The ORS along with the machine read response will be displayed online on the JEE portal. In case of discrepancy in ORS sheet, candidates request for review of the machine read response.
Those candidates who want to seek the review in the ORS need to pay INR 500 per question. The payment details will be mentioned later on the portal. JEE Advanced Answer Keys of both the Papers will be published online.
Candidates appearing both the Papers will only be considered for ranking. Marks scored in either subject will be calculated on the basis of total marks scored in Paper 1 and Paper 2. You will get an idea in the following way, how it is calculated-
Physics Marks = Marks scored in Physics (Paper 1 + Paper 2)
Chemistry Marks = Marks scored in Chemistry (Paper 1 + Paper 2)
Mathematics Marks = Marks scored in Mathematics (Paper 1 + Paper 2)
The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE Advanced are calculated by taking in account the total marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in both the Papers. If any two or more candidates score the same marks, then tie-breaker method will be used for ranking. The rank will be maintained on the higher marks scored in Mathematics section. If the same rank still persists, higher marks scored in Physics section will be preferred. If still the rank doesn’t change, then the same rank will be awarded to the candidates.
Rank List of the JEE Advanced 2017 aspirants will be prepared separately on the basis of categories defined as per the courses. If any candidate qualifies in more than one category then he will be considered in all the categories to which he belongs for the ranking purpose. There is not going to be any waiting list for ranking. The candidates who qualify the minimum prescribed marks will only be considered for the rank list. The following table shows the minimum prescribed marks for each category-
|Rank List||Minimum % of marks in each subject||Minimum % of marks in aggregate|
|Common Rank List (CRL)||10.0||35.0|
|OBC-Non Creamy Layer Rank List (OBC-NCL)||9.0||31.5|
