JEE ADVANCED 2017 RESERVATION
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
JEE Advanced Reservation can be availed by candidates belonging to SC /ST /OBC (NCL)/ Pwd / Defense Personnel categories in IIT Advanced. The category once submitted in IIT records, cannot be changed under any circumstances. Valid Proofs of eligibility need to be submitted in order to avail the reservation and have lower cutoffs for the rank lists.Candidates appearing for JEE Advanced must take note of the following points:
a) Unoccupied seats under OBC-NCL will be shifted to OPEN or GENERAL seats
b) Unoccupied PwD seats under each category will be made open to other candidates under those categories
c) Unoccupied SC/ST seats cannot be shifted to other categories

Reservations in JEE Advanced are decided and declared after taking into consideration the rules and guidelines laid down by Govt. of India. Refer to the following table for a detailed description of categories qualifying for Reservations:

SC/ST Candidates: Original and 1 attested photocopy of Category (SC/ST) certificate.

NOTE: The OBC certificate must be signed before June 01, 2017
Defense Service candidates are defined as children of defence/paramilitary personnel killed or permanently disabled in action at war front or peacetime operations.

Persons with Disability (PwD)- 3% seats (horizontally) are reserved in each of the following categories:

A scribe is an individual who writes the examination for a person with a physical or learning disability and which restrains him from writing the examination. Typically, the scribe reads out the question and writes the response/marks the response in OMR sheet after the candidate says the final answer. For IIT JEE Advanced, scribe is a class 11 student from science stream having Mathematics as one of the subjects
