JCECE 2017 Counselling will begin from June 7, 2017, as per an official notification by JCECEB. Candidates who cleared JCECE and also secured the minimum cutoff marks will be allowed to participate in the counselling rounds. JCECE 2017 Counselling will commence in the month of July and August after the declaration of JCECE Result 2017. Eligible candidates have to appear at the counselling center for admission rounds. Verification of certificates and documents will be done at the time of counselling and admission rounds. If candidate fails to produce the required document then he will be debarred from the JCECE 2017 counselling process.
Candidates qualifying the JCECE 2017 may attend the counselling. The JCECE 2017 counselling will take place in 2 phases- Round 1 and Round 2. JCECE 2017 applicants have to attend centralized counselling to be conducted by Jharkhand University in the month of July, 2017. Candidates called for counselling have to produce the required documents in original. If applicants fail to produce the required documents then they will not be entertained further.
The computerized parallel counselling will be conducted by the JCECE Board. More information regarding counselling will be updated soon on the official website after JCECE results are declared. Qualifying candidates are requested to go through the information bulletin for appearing in the counselling. JCECE 2017 Counselling will be held in the month of July, 2017. The JCECE 2017 counselling process for the examination is carried out in two rounds- Round 1 & Round 2, which are as follows:
First Round of JCECE 2017 Counselling- The candidates are selected on the basis of the merit rank obtained by him/her in the JCECE competitive exam. Only after perusal of all the required original certificates/documents and complete satisfaction about the identity of the candidate, he/she shall be allowed to make selections of the Institute and Course/Stream on Merit-Cum-Choice at his/her Merit Order.

Second Round of JCECE 2017 Counselling- In case there are vacant seats even after the First Round of Counselling then the JCECE Board chooses to host the Second Round of Counselling. The rules and criteria is similar to the First Round of Counselling.
The Counselling Process Fee for the JCECE 2017 Examination is paid by candidates through a Challan or IPO. The fee varies for the castes. The Counselling Fee for General/ OBC (I and II) is INR 300 while the counselling fee for SC/ST Category candidates is INR 250.
Note: The information about the partial admission fee payment shall be provided on both in the newspaper advertisement and on the official website prior to JCECE 2017 Counselling.
If any candidate has allotted a seat in the 1st counselling and want to change the institute in the 2nd counselling then the final and compulsory decision in such a situation is generated by the Controller of the Examination. The decision of the controller of the examination is unquestionable and irreversible in any case even after the admission of the candidate.
A list of the appeared candidates in order of merit based on the score attained in the examination will be prepared by the JCECE board and used for the purpose of allotment of seats. If two or more candidates score the same marks then there exists a tie. Tie-breaking or inter-se-merit criteria is used to define the merit/ ranks of the candidates. There are different inter-se-merit for candidates aspiring admissions in different courses and are as follows:
For Engineering (B.Tech) Stream:
Candidates scoring high in Mathematics will be preferred else if the candidate scoring higher in Physics will be preferred. If still tie doesn’t breaks then the older candidate will be preferred. And at last, the candidate will be preferred according to their names in alphabetical order.
Higher Marks in Mathematics > Higher marks in Physics > Older Age of the Candidate > Alphabetical Order of Candidate’s Name
For MBBS, BDS, BHMS Streams:
Candidates aspiring for medial courses shares same marks then the inter-se-merit will be used to obtain their ranks in JCECE 2017 Examination. Candidates scoring high in Biology will be preferred else if the candidate scoring higher in Chemistry will be preferred. If still the tie doesn’t breaks then the candidate of older age will be preferred. And at last, the candidate will be preferred according to their names in alphabetical order.
Higher Marks in Biology > Higher marks in Chemistry > Older Age of the Candidate > Alphabetical Order of Candidate’s Name
For B.Sc. Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture/ Forestry) Stream:
JCECE 2017 applicants aspiring for B.Sc. Courses in agriculture and forestry shares same marks then the inter-se-merit will be used to maintain the ranks in JCECE for counselling and admissions. Candidates scoring higher in Physics will be preferred first and then the candidate scoring higher in Chemistry will be preferred. If still the tie doesn’t breaks, after that the candidates of older age will be preferred. And at last, the candidate will be preferred according to their names in alphabetical order.
Higher Marks in Physics > Higher marks in Chemistry > Older Age of the Candidate > Alphabetical Order of Candidate’s Name
The applicants are required to carry original copies and self-attested Xerox copies of the listed certificates at the time of JCECE 2017 counselling. The candidate must note that a legal action shall be taken against him/her if any document/ certificate turns out to be fake. This shall lead to detention of candidate from seat allotment. Note: In case the JCECE 2017 Admit Card is lost then the candidate has to bring a copy of FIR in this regard.
