ISI ADMISSION TEST 2017 RESULT & COUNSELLING
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
ISI Admission Test 2017 results are scheduled to be declared in the month of May, 2017. ISI Admission Test Counsellingis the last step which requires the applicant to appear for an interview. The ISI counselling requires the selected candidate to go through a medical check up at the Medical Welfare Unit located in the ISI Hostel campus. The candidates must get the checking done well before the interview schedule.
The candidates have to pay the ISI admission fee immediately as soon as they are selected if they wish to join the course after the ISI counselling is over. The candidates in the final semester can apply for the ISI A exam.
The ISI schedule gives details about the display of the ISI result according to the different streams. The candidates who have been shortlisted have to appear for the interview on the date mentioned. The tentative dates for ISI 2017 are as follows:

The ISI result can be checked online on the official website. The candidate has to simply follow the 5 step process given here.
No alert emails or messages will be circulated by ISI Kolkata to the students. Hence it is advised that the candidates do check about the result’s availability regularly.
The ISI cut off for each of the streams is different. The candidates have to clear the minimum cut off defined so that he/she gets a call for an interview. The cut for OBC category is different from the SC/ST category students. The candidates must keep in mind that the cut off here is given for ISI 2016. The ISI 2017 cut off may change. This is provided to give a rough idea of the cut off.
Cut off Marks for M. Math are given below

The ISI Kolkata has a different selection procedure for each of the exam streams. The candidate has to appear for the written ISI exam. The candidates in some courses may get sponsorship in some cases. The candidate must check the courses below to see if they are eligible for the sponsorship program.
Bachelor of Statistics (Honours)[B STAT (HONS)]
All the candidates have to appear for the ISI exam. The written test has two stages. The INMO AWARDEES (the candidates who have been selected to participate in the International Mathematics Olympiad training camp) are exempted from the written test. The candidates who have a certificate of merit from National Board of Higher Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India are exempted from the ISI exam. The candidates, however, have to complete the ISI Admission Test Application Form. The final selection depends on the performance in the ISI exam and the interview process.
Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours)[B MATH (HONS)]
The candidate has to appear for the ISI exam. The candidates who have a certificate of merit from National Board of Higher Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India are exempted from the written test. The candidates however have to appear to complete the ISI registration process. The candidates who have got a certificate from INMO Certificate of Merit from Homi Bhaba Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) have to appear for the ISI written test.
Master of Statistics [M STAT]
The candidates who have completed the B Stat(Hons) from ISI Kolkata do not have to appear for the ISI exam. Such candidates are directly eligible for the interview stage. They just have to fill the ISI application form.
The candidates who have not pursued graduation from ISI Kolkata have to complete the application process and appear for the ISI exam. The candidates who clear the ISI exam will be called for the interview. The ISI exam or written test will contain different questions at the different stages. The question details are as follows:
Master of Mathematics [M MATH]
The students who have completed graduation degree B Math (Hons) from ISI Kolkata are eligible for direct admission to the program without any written test or interview. The candidates who have completed the B Math (pass) from ISI have to appear for the written test and interview. The performance in the previous academic years will be considered. All other candidates have to appear for the ISI exam. The candidates will be asked questions to test the knowledge of the Mathematics Honours/ Major of Indian Universities. The special emphasis is given on the Real Analysis, Linear and Abstract Algebra.
Master of Science in Quantitative Economics[MS (QE)]
The selection procedure requires you to appear for the ISI exam and interview. The academic record will be taken into consideration. The questions will come from both Economics and Mathematics at the undergraduate level.
Master of Science in Quality Management Science[MS (QMS)]
The candidates have to appear for the written ISI exam and interview if they clear the exam. The candidate’s academic record will be checked and verified later. The candidate can get a sponsorship from any government, semi government, public sector undertakings, autonomous institutions and commercial/ industrial organizations. The candidate must satisfy the requirement given by the organization, which is sponsoring the candidate. The candidate sponsored will not receive any stipend from ISI Kolkata and must submit an amount of Rs.20000 received from the organization that has come up for sponsorship as tuition fee. The candidate will be receiving also full salary from the organization apart from the stipend.
Master of Science in Library & Information Science [MS (LIS)]
The selection process requires the candidate to appear for the ISI written test and interview. The academic records will be considered at the time of final selection.
Master of Technology in Computer Science [M TECH (CS)]
The candidate has to appear for the written ISI exam. The candidate will receive a sponsorship in this case from any government, semi government, public sector undertakings, autonomous institutions and commercial/ industrial organizations if he/she matches all the eligibility criteria laid by the organization. The candidate’s tuition fee in the case of sponsorship will be paid by the organization.
The candidate has to pay Rs. 20000 as the tuition fee. The sponsored candidate must get the leave for 1 year and will be paid full salary by the organization. The sponsored candidate will not receive any stipend. The candidates have to appear for a written test. The written test has two stages. The candidates who clear both the stages have to appear for the interview.
The written exam has following two parts:
Group A: A test consisting of logical reasoning and mathematics at the undergraduate level.
Group B: A test which contains 5 sections; all of the equal marks. The section names are Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at the postgraduate level and in Computer Science, Engineering and Technology at the B Tech level. Anyone section has to be attempted by the candidate.
Master of Technology in Quality, Reliability & Operations Research [M TECH (QROR)]
The selection procedure involves the candidate to appear for a written test. The candidates who have valid GATE score also have to appear for the ISI exam. The candidates can get sponsored by any government, semi government, public sector undertakings, autonomous institutions and commercial/ industrial organizations.
The candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria laid down by the organization and in the case of sponsorship need to submit a year’s leave. The candidate will receive full salary from the organization. The candidate must pay an amount of Rs.20000 as the fee every year. ISI counselling is to commence in the month of June 2017 once the ISI result is declared. The ISI counselling is done for both the M.Tech (C.S.) and M.Tech (QROR) in the same month. The ISI counselling was conducted on June 16, 2016 for M.Tech (C.S.) last year which was followed by ISI counselling for M.Tech (QROR) on June 20, 2016. This year also the same trend is expected to be followed. The candidates who have the valid GATE score can appear for the ISI counselling. The GATE score is applicable only to the M.Tech (C.S.) course and not for M.Tech (QROR). The candidates who wish to do M.Tech in QROR (Quality, Research and Operations Research).
The candidates who are selected will be called for the ISI counselling according to the schedule uploaded on the official website. The candidates must check the ISI counselling schedule before coming for the counselling. The ISI counselling procedure in details is as follows:
The candidates who are in their final semester of examination i.e. final semester of B. Tech will be given provisional admission.
The candidates after clearing the document verification process have to deposit the fee if they wish to join. The document verification step is next to personal interview. The following amount has to be paid at the same time:
The candidates who join the ISI Kolkata will receive a stipend of Rs.8000 per month. The candidates will be receiving the stipend on the basis of their performance in the semester exam after semester 1. The candidates will receive Rs.5000 as annual contingency grant.
