Analysis on the basis of Exam Pattern

In most of the entrance exams, every year certain changes have been made in the paper. Change in exam pattern affect the result & cutoff on small scale. Following table shows the exam pattern of the exam:

Analysis on the basis of Level of Difficulty

In Reasoning, students who had attempted 33 to 35 questions out of 37 were treated as good attempt. Difficulty level was easy. Most of the questions asked were taken from critical reasoning. Following table will give you the brief idea about the questions asked in Reasoning-

In Legal Aptitude, 30 to 32 questions out of 37 were treated as easy to moderate. Difficulty level of this section was treated as easy to moderate. The most surprising element in this section was the absence of questions related to legal reasoning. In overall,if a student who had solved 121 to 129 questions,his chances stands good to crack the entrance test.

Expected trend of IPUCET 2016 Law Paper

IP University conducts test in Pen-Paper (offline) mode every year for Law. IPU CETis conducted at various Test centers of Delhi.If we analyze the previous year’s trend, it can be concluded that questions asked in GA & LA were in different mode. Sometimes they skip the whole section as in 2015 and only legal reasoning was asked.


IPU CET 2015 for MCA was held on April 26, 2015. CET is held in offline mode. According to the test takers the test was easy in comparison with previous year papers. Here we are providing you detailed analysis of IP University MCA CET 2015 that will help you in understanding the pattern and difficulty level of question paper for CET 2016.

IP University will conduct the MCA CET on April 24, 2016 for admission into MCA for 880 seats to its affiliated colleges. Last date to apply online is March 29, 2016. Candidates applying for MCA and MCA (Software Engineering) are advised to check the IPU CET Exam Pattern and Syllabus before starting the preparation for the IPU CET 2016. Apart from this, previous year papers will help you in preparing well. Analysis of previous year’s paper is also helpful in understanding the trend of the test that is to be conducted.

IPUCET 2015 MCA Exam Analysis

IPUCET for MCA is an offline test with 150 multiple choice questions. Time duration for the CET is 150 minutes. Following are the highlights of the test-

Following is the section wise analysis of the test-

English Language and Comprehension: Total 37 questions were asked from this section. Questions were from various topics of English such as- Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Spelling test, Sentence Improvement, Idiom Phrases, Cloze Tests, Direct Indirect Speech, and Voice etc.

Comprehension passages were very long. At least 14 questions were asked based on the passages. This makes the English section lengthy. Apart from this vocab part and English grammar part was easy to moderate level. Test takers found little difficulty in vocab part. Overall this part can be considered as easy to moderate on level of difficulty. An attempt of 25-30 questions in 30 minutes was the good attempt for this paper.

Mathematics: Total 38 questions wereasked from this section. Questions were asked from various topics including- Sets, Complex Number, Quadratic Equations, Sequence and Series, Permutation Combination, 2D and 3D Geometry, Mensuration, Differential and Integral Calculus, Probability, Statistics, Trigonometry, Averages and Mixtures, Time and Distance, Time and Work, Simple Interest, Compound Interest etc.

The section is always said to be moderate to tough difficulty level. The majority of the questions from this section were on Arithmetic. Areas like Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Simple Equations, Ratio, Proportion, Variation were the most asked topics. Arithmetic was always like not very tough and not so easy. Although Higher Mathematics was difficult that it is usually asked. But overall mathematics in IPUCET MCA 2015 is said to be Moderate-Difficult. One could devote 35 to 40 min for this section and attempt a good number of questions.

Computer Awareness: Total 38 questions were asked from this section. Topics that were asked included Operating system, Current affairs related to IT sector, Data representation, Computer Language C, Computer basics, Data structure etc. This was the easiest section among all sections. A basic computer knowledge would require to attempt this section well. Those who have IT background in their graduation could attempt all the questions easily. Although for an average student 30-35 attempts is considered good in about 30 minutes.

Logical & Analytical Ability: 37 questions were asked form this section. The section comprises of Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. From verbal reasoning topics that were asked included- Analogy, Venn diagram, Classification, Coding decoding, Series, Alphabet Test, Direction Sense Test, Blood Relation, Ranking and Time Sequence Test, Problems on clock and Calendar etc. Most of the questions from this section were based on simple calculations and tricks. The questions were easy in nature.

From non-verbal reasoning topics included Series, Wrong figure out in series, counting of figures, figure completion, cube and dice, paper folding, paper cutting, insert missing image, mirror image, embedded figures etc. These questions were also simple and easy. A student with good reasoning ability could do them all easily.

Around 28-30 attempts in about 30 minutes, would have been good for this section. Overall, this test area can be considered to be Moderate for the test takers. Practice mock tests as many as possible to excel in this section by improving your calculation skills.

Overall IPUCET 2015 for MCA can be classified as easy to moderate on difficulty level. For 2016 candidates are advised to practice previous year papers as well as mock tests as many as possible. Candidates who attempted correct answers about 90-100 can expect average result.  Further test takers, who solved nearly 100-120 correctly, can expect moderate to decent good marks. While test takers who solved nearly 125-140 correctly can expect very good marks.

IPUCET BBA(Management) Exam Analysis

Analysis has been performed on the basis of facts & information revealed by the students, who have given the IPUCET, as IP University don’t allow candidates to take the question paper along with them.The pattern was same as that in 2014 i.e. 150 questions were required to be solved in 150minutes along with provision of awarding +4 marks for correct &-1 for wrong answer.

In Logical Reasoning section, attempt of 25 to 30 was considered to be good.

In Language Comprehension, the overall difficulty level was Moderate. Most of the questions were asked from Reading comprehension & Vocabulary(two passages of 4 questions each were asked). Questions asked in passages were based on inferences which make the section difficult. Synonym, Antonym, para jumbles, idioms, phrases & cloze test were also asked. Attempt of 25 to 30questions was good.

In General Awareness, there was mix of easy & difficult questions. Most of them require one line answer. One liner types of question saved the precious time of the students. Surprising factor was inclusion of science based questions. Most of the questions were related to Geography, Polity, Economy & sports.

In Aptitude for Management & Communication Skills, there were a total of 37 questions asked in this section & they took least time to solve. Surprising element was questions related to RBI’s Monetary Policies Business Awareness. Questions on Liberalization & Globalization were also asked. An attempt of 27 to 32 questions was considered as good. Students who had scored 450+ in the paper had chances of safe selection.
