For each test paper in JAM 2017, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all the appeared candidates based on the performance of the candidates in the test paper. IIT JAM Merit List 2017 will be formed including the names of all qualifying candidates. Out of them, candidates qualifying IIT JAM Cutoff will be called for the IIT JAM 2017 Counselling.
Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is conducted for admission to M.Sc. and other Post-Graduate programmes at the IITs. It also admits students to Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science. Approximately 1700 seats are filled in 15 participating institutes of IIT JAM each year.

The official notification for IIT JAM 2018 will release in August 2018. Candidates with a minimum of 50% in their Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for IIT JAM 2018. IIT JAM 2017 Result is declared on March 24, 2017 (Saturday). Candidates can visit the official website (jam.iitd.ac.in) and login with their details to view their results. The admission process will begin as per the schedule present on the website. Candidates qualifying the exam can apply for the IIT JAM 2017 Counselling.
The IIT JAM question papers 2017 are available on the official website from February 18, 2017. Candidates may download the question booklet. IIT JAM Result 2017 is generated on the basis of IIT JAM 2017 Answer Key.
IIT JAM Answer Key 2017 was made available on the official website of IIT JAM 2017 i.e. joaps.iitd.ac.in/. They were released by the examination authority, IIT Delhi. Students can check JAM answer key after entering their enrolment ID and Password on the login page. Check IIT JAM Answer Key 2017
For each test paper in JAM 2017, an All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned to all the appeared candidates based on the performance of the candidates in the test paper.
The tie-breaking criterion for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a test paper will be as follows:
The candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank. If this criterion fails to break ties, the candidates concerned will be awarded the same rank.
The IIT JAM merit list 2017 will be declared on March 27, 2017 (Monday). IIT JAM results 2017 will be available on the website: http://jam.iitd.ac.in. For each test paper, an All India Merit list will be prepared based on AIR. The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in each category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD) in a given subject. These candidates (henceforth called Qualified Candidates) are eligible to apply for admission to any of the corresponding academic programmes available (see Appendix-I) at IITs and IISc.
Please note that the number of category-wise (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD) candidates included in the All India Merit List will be based on the category declared by the candidates in their application. The Score Card (indicating the All India Rank(s) and the mark(s) obtained by the candidate) will be available for download in the JAM 2017 website from April 07, 2017 to July 31, 2017 to qualified candidates.
Candidates can check the IIT JAM Cut Off for the minimum rank required to be eligible for the IIT JAM 2017 Counselling. IIT JAM Cut off is generated post declaration of the IIT JAM 2017 Result. The candidates have to fill the IIT JAM 2017 Admission Form if they secure the rank equal to or more than the rank mentioned in the IIT JAM 2017 Cut off.

Candidates who obtain the ranks similar to the ranks in the IIT JAM 2017 Cut off qualify for the IIT JAM 2017 Counselling. Candidates must fill the IIT JAM 2017 Admission Form to seek admission in IISc Bangalore and IITs. The IIT JAM 2017 Admission Form will be available on the official website from September 2 till October 13, 2016.
Candidates can pay the fee for the IIT JAM Admission Form 2017 through only offline (E-challan) mode since only cash payment is acceptable. The fee for the IIT JAM 2017 Admission Form is INR 600. This fee is not refundable. After making the payment, get the SBI-stamped JAM copy of E-Challan scanned and upload the scanned image on the admission website in JPEG/PDF format.

Candidates seeking admission through IIT JAM must have a Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates belonging to General/OBC (Non-Creamy) category must have secured at least 55% aggregate in Bachelor’s Degree. The marks secured include all the subjects studied in the graduation in all the years, without rounding off the marks. The Reservation policy will be as per government norms. The candidates are required to submit the proof of passing Bachelor’s degree with the required Eligibility to give the entrance exam.

Registration for IIT JAM 2017 can be done at the official JAM website. Follow the steps given below to register and apply for IIT JAM 2017 before the last date of application submission.

Candidates who successfully submit the Application Form can download the JAM Admit Card from the official website i.e. http://jam.iitd.ac.in/index.php. The IIT JAM 2017 Admit Card will be available from January 10, 2017 till February 12, 2017.
A printout of the downloaded Admit Card must be brought to the test centre along with an original and valid photo identification. Please note that you have to give the details of this ID proof while filling the online application. No candidate will be permitted to appear in JAM 2017 examination without a valid Admit Card, and a valid and original ID. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators/JAM officials for verification.

Candidates must bring any one of the given identity proofs to the exam hall.
The JAM 2017 examination is conducted through a collaboration of eight zones.Candidates can make their choice of the IIT JAM 2017 Exam Center in their preferred zone. Candidates have to mention three choices of the IIT JAM 2017 Exam Center in the IIT JAM Application Form.
In exceptional circumstances, a change of examination City/Town may be permitted, if a request with a valid reason for the same is received in the office of the Organizing Chairman, JAM 2017, IIT Delhi, New Delhi- 110016, on or before October 28, 2016, along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of “Chairman JAM IIT Delhi”, on any Nationalized Bank, payable at New Delhi.

IIT JAM 2017 is scheduled for February 7, 2017. In total, there are 7 test papers, carried out in two time slots. IIT JAM 2017 is an online mode examination i.e. a computer based test, where will be shown the questions in a random sequence on a computer screen. The test is conducted in two slots each of 3 hours duration with 3 sections. There are a total of 60 questions in English carrying 100 marks. Questions in Section A will have four choices of which only one will be correct. Questions in Section B will have four choices of which one or more answer(s) will be correct. Candidate will be awarded full marks only if they select all the correct answer(s) and no wrong answers. Questions in Section C will be numerical based where answer is a signed real number, to be entered using virtual numeric keypad on the monitor. There will be no choices and answer should be typed using virtual numeric keypad.

In Section A, the candidates are given 1 mark for every correct answer and 1/3 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer. The questions carrying 2 marks for correct answer, 2/3 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer. There is no negative marking and partial marking in Section B or Section C
In order to do well in IIT JAM 2017, it is important to put in preparation in a well-thought manner. One must ensure there is minimum wastage of time and resources throughout the preparation plan. It is important to identify the section which is most difficult and set aside extra time to work on it.
