IBPS PO 2017 SELECTION PROCESS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The Selection Process for IBPS PO Recruitment comprises of 3 stages- Prelims, Main and Interview. The IBPS Notification for PO is yet to be released. But, IBPS has announced the exam dates for Prelim and Main Exam. Preliminary exam is scheduled on October 7, 8, 14 and 15 and Main exam is scheduled on November 26, 2017.
IBPS PO is an all India level entrance examination for recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT). Only candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination of IBPS PO will sit for Main Examination. And the shortlisted candidates will go through the Interview round.
IBPS PO is a 2 tier entrance examination so the result for CWE Preliminary and Main exam would be declared separately. Candidates clearing IBPS PO Preliminary Exam are shortlisted for the IBPS PO Main Exam while on the basis of result for ‘Main’ Exam, candidates would be shortlisted for IBPS PO Interview. As the exams will be conducted separately, so the Admit Card will also be issued separately. Also, the results for IBPS PO exam will also be published separately on the official website.
The IBPS PO Preliminary and Main Examination along with Interview wraps up the selection procedure for IBPS PO. Candidates have to appear and qualify in all the 3 stages to be eligible for provisional allotment of vacancies. The 3 stages of the selection process are explained in detail below.
The Preliminary Examination for IBPS PO is scheduled to take place on 7, 8, 14 and 15 October. It is the first stage in the IBPS PO Selection Process. It is an online test consisting of 3 sections- English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

Candidates will be shortlisted for IBPS PO Main Paper only if they qualify in the Preliminary examination.
IBPS PO Main Examination is also an online examination. IBPS PO Main Examination is scheduled on November 26, 2017. There are 5 sections in the exam- English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.

The overall difficulty level is higher than the Preliminary Exam for obvious reasons. It is mandatory for all the aspirants to secure minimum qualifying marks in each section of IBPS PO Main apart from clearing the minimum cutoff for the overall exam to be shortlisted for the IBPS PO Interview.
The interview round for IBPS PO is the final step of the selection procedure. The minimum marks for required in the interview is 40% (35% for reserved category candidates). This round will be conducted by the participating organizations and the nodal bank in each state. The call letters for the interview would intimate candidates about their center, time & date for their Interview. The call letters are accessible from the official site of IBPS- ibps.in.
Note: Shortlisted candidates are required to produce certain documents at the time of interview for verification of their eligibility and claim for benefits under reserved categories, if any.
Candidates are required to carry certain documents at the time of IBPS PO Interview. All the candidates need to carry the documents in original and self-attested photocopies. Failure to carry any documents during the interview process can lead to debarment of the candidates.
NOTE: The failure to carry any of the above-mentioned documents as per their applicability would lead to cancellation of candidature for shortlisted applicants.
The candidates applying and seeking relaxation under various reserved categories such as SC/SC/OBC/PwD are required to obtain the requisite certificates form the authorities designated by Govt. of India.
Certificates issued by any other authority would not be considered valid. The competent authorities for issuance of documents is listed in the table below.

Candidates would be shortlisted for the process of IBPS PO Provisional Allotment in various participating Organizations on the basis of number of vacancies and performance of candidates in the main examination and interview. The final score considered for the selection of candidates is based on 80:20 ratio of Main and interview score.
The provisional allotment would be done on the basis of final vacancies submitted by the participating organizations. The candidates are required to obtain higher combined score than the last allotted candidate in their respective candidate.
The allotment would be done on the basis of merit cum preference and is subject to candidate fulfilling the eligibility criteria for respective participating organization. Candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria would be debarred from further selection process.
There could be also a reserve list to the extent of 10 percent of vacancies under each category, depending on the availability of candidates. The list would automatically expire after March 31, 2019 and candidates in the reserve list would not be considered for allotment in subsequent editions of IBPS PO.
NOTE:All the vacancies are All India Cadre and the provisionally allotted candidates could be posted anywhere in India/Outside India as per the requirement of the participating organizations.
In case two or more candidates obtain the same score in IBPS PO, then the order of the candidates in the provisional allotment merit list would be decided by the date of birth i.e., candidates older in age would be given preference over the younger candidate.
