IBPS PO 2017 Pre-Exam Training

The Pre- Exam Training for IBPS PO is a training provided especially to candidates belonging to SC/ ST and Minority categories. Through this training, the reserved categories gets to enhance and improve their knowledge before appearing for the exam. The training is conducted before IBPS PO Prelims and Main exam. It is scheduled to start from July 2017.

IBPS PO exam is a two-tier exam process, where candidates who qualify the Prelims will be eligible to sit for the Mains. Further, the ones who clear the Mains, are called for the Common Interview round. This interview will be conducted by the Participating Organizations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank. Approximately, 2 million candidates take part in the IBPS PO examination every year. It is organized by the IBPS (Indian Banking Personnel Selection), through various examination centers across the nation.

IBPS PO Pre-Exam Training

The IBPS PO Pre-Exam Training is a special programme conducted especially for the minority classes. It helps to enhance the capabilities of the candidate appearing in the IBPS Exam. It is conducted for the candidates from the reserved categories i.e. Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe only. It is mandatory to clear the Common Written Exam (CWE) and hence, this IBPS Pre-Exam Training is conducted for better preparation of the same.

IBPS Participating Organizations/Nodal Banks arrange the IBPS Pre-Exam Training at the designated centers which are called Pre-Examination training centers. The training is free of cost but all other expenses (travelling, boarding, lodging, etc.) must be borne by the candidates. To be able to apply for this training, candidates must tick the Pre-Training Option while filling the IBPS PO Application Form.

It is to be noted that the administrative body has all the rights to cancel the programme any time at any of the centers, depending upon the response and feasibility or add some more centers or make alternate arrangements.

The Common Written Exam is an online exam, which will be held in two stages. The first round is the Preliminary stage and the next one is the Main exam. The structure of the Examinations are as follows:

a) Preliminary Exam

This is the first exam that a candidate needs to crack to qualify for IBPS PO Main Exam. 

Exam Mode: Online 

Time Duration: 1 hour (60 minutes)

Sections: 3 sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability

Question Type: MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)

Marking Scheme: 1 mark each

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for wrong answer

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question. Those candidates who clear this stage will able to go at next stage i.e. the Main Exam.

b) Main Exam

Candidates qualifying the first paper i.e. Prelims will then have to clear this exam. The scores in this exam will contribute in the final selection or final allotment of a candidate.

Time Duration: 2 hour 20 minutes (140 minutes)

Sections: 5 sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge
