IBPS PO 2018

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is a conducting body of IBPS PO. IBPS PO is an entrance exam which is held for recruiting PO (Probationary Officer) in various participating banks across India. The exam for Bank PO 2018 (Prelims) is scheduled in October 2018. The online application for registration starts in July 2018.

Each year IBPS announces positions for PO posts in National Banks, State Bank and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). The minimum eligibility required is that the applicant must be a graduate in any stream. The eligible candidates are then supposed to apply online, register, pay the application fee and obtain their Admit card. They can then appear for Preliminary, Mains and then an interview before a selection panel.


IBPS PO 2018 Exam Dates

IBPS has released a tentative schedule for Bank PO Exam. IBPS Online Application for Bank PO starts in July 2018. Candidates can go through the following table to know about the Exam Dates:

IBPS PO Eligibility 2018

Candidates are required to satisfy IBPS PO 2018 Eligibility before registering for IBPS PO. Candidates have to satisfy the minimum age requirement, academic qualification and citizenship criteria to be eligible for the exam. Any candidate who is found ineligible for the IBPS PO Exam at any stage of the Common Recruitment Process will be disqualified immediately. The IBPS PO 2018 Eligibility is explained below:

On the basis of Educational Qualification

  • A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university by Indian Government or Central Government.
  • Candidate must have the Marksheet/ Degree Certificate indicating the marks obtained in the degree programme entered during IBPS PO Online Registration.
  • Candidates pursuing the final year of their degree programme can also apply for the IBPS PO exam.

On the basis of Age Criteria

  • The minimum age requirement is 20 years whereas the upper age limit is 30 years.
  • There will be an age relaxation depending upon the category of the candidate as per IBPS norms. The table below mentions the upper age relaxations for various categories in the IBPS PO exam:

Citizenship

  • The candidate must be an Indian Nationalor can be a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee who have settled in India.
  • Migrated candidates from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of settling in India are eligible to apply for IBPS PO exam.

Note: It is essential for the candidates to check the conditions set by the IBPS before applying for the post of Probationary Officer(PO). In case, Candidate fails to meet the Criteria, his/her application is liable to be rejected.


IBPS PO Application Form 2018

The application Form for IBPS PO 2018 will be available in July/ August 2018. Candidates can fill the form by visiting the official website of IBPS- ibps.in under the CWE PO/MT tab. All the aspirants have to fill the form only once for both Preliminary and Mains Exam of IBPS PO 2018. The applicants must read the instruction carefully before proceeding to fill up the form. Applicants have to enter the correct information in the Application Form to avoid cancellation. The digital/scanned images of the passport sized photograph and signature must be clearly uploaded and must satisfy the specifications mentioned in the instructions.

The steps followed at every stage of the IBPS PO Application Process are mentioned below:

Step 1: Registration

The candidate has to visit the Official website of IBPS first and then click on the tab CWE PO/MT. They will then have to follow the link ‘New Registration’ and fill in all the required dates. Then, they have to enter a security code and click on Save and Next.

Note: A provisional registration number and password will be displayed on the screen. It is also sent via SMS and E-mail to the candidate. Preserve the same for the further process.

Step 2: Uploading Images

In this step, through provisional ID and Password candidate has to login again. A candidate has to upload his/her scanned photograph and signature as per the specifications.

Step 3: Filling the details

The candidate has to enter his/ her basic information such as category with category code, nationality, IBPS PO Exam Center choice, name, academic details etc. under the basic tab of the detailed IBPS PO Application Form.

Note: After filling all the information, the candidate has to click on ‘I agree’ in the declaration to assure that the information entered is true. Also, it is important to preview complete application form before finally clicking on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Step 4: Fee Payment

The Application fee payment is the last step of the IBPS PO Online Application Process. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category are required to pay INR 100 for the IBPS PO Online Application whereas other categories have to pay INR 600. The Application fee for IBPS PO exam can be remitted only through online mode which includes payment through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/IMPS or Mobile Wallets/Cash Cards. 

Note: Applicants must keep all the necessary documents for Online payment with them at the time of filing of the Application form. In case of non-payment, login again and follow the same process of fee payment

Step 5: Confirmation

An additional page of IBPS PO Online Application opens after successful fee payment. A candidate has to enter the details asked by following the instructions to generate the e-receipt. Print the e-receipt and IBPS PO Application Form displayed on the screen.

IBPS PO 2016 Exam Center

IBPS is the allocating authority which reserves the rights to allocate the preferred IBPS PO Exam Center. The allotted IBPS PO Exam Center will be indicated on the IBPS PO Admit Card. The candidates have to indicate their choice of IBPS PO Exam Center during the IBPS PO Application Process while filling the details in the Application Form. The candidates have to mention the choice of IBPS PO Exam center for both Preliminary and Main examination with the state code in which it is located. 

IBPS PO 2018 Admit Card

Applicants must keep in mind that the IBPS PO Admit Card can only be downloaded from the official website of IBPS. No candidate will receive the IBPS PO Admit card via e-mail or post. There will be different Admit card for the pre-exam training, preliminary and main examination. The Admit Card for Preliminary examination of IBPS PO 2018 will be available on the official website in September 2018.

The candidate is required to follow the steps given below to download the IBPS PO Admit Card:

  • Visit the official website of IBPS- ibps.in
  • Follow the link to download the IBPS PO Admit Card
  • Enter the provisional ID and Password received during the IBPS PO Application Process.
  • Verify the details on the IBPS Admit card and Print multiple copies.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2018

IBPS PO 2018 Exam Pattern for Preliminary and Main examination will be different. The preliminary exam of IBPS PO 2016 is an online mode examination with 3 sections namely General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. The main examination of IBPS PO 2016 consists of 5 sections namely General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Computer Awareness.

This is the first exam that a candidate needs to crack for Bank PO recruitment. The Prelims Exam is designed to test the Reasoning Abilities, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language of the candidates.

For IBPS PO Mains Examination

After clearing the IBPS PO Prelims exam, a candidate will then have to clear the Mains exam. The exam is designed to test the qualities at a higher level along with applicant’s knowledge about computers and his/her general awareness (especially with reference to Banking Industry).

IBPS PO Results 2018      

After the exam of Prelims is successfully conducted, the result for IBPS Prelims will be released after 10 days. Then, the shortlisted candidates from Prelims round will be called for the next level i.e. Mains Exam. The exam is scheduled in November 2018 and results for the same will be announced in the last week of November 2018.

IBPS PO Results for Main will be released on the official website of IBPS. Again, shortlisted candidates will be called for the final level i.e. Interview. The selected candidates will then be appointed to the respective banks as per their final scores.

IBPS PO 2018 Interview Process

Candidates who have applied for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) will undergo an Interview conducted by the IBPS. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the preliminary and main exam. Candidates who will score the necessary marks will be invited for the Interview Round.


IBPS PO 2018 Answer Key

The general Answer Key for IBPS PO exam is generated before the declaration of the IBPS PO Result. The answer key can be downloaded from the official website. The IBPS PO Answer Key is published in four different sets i.e. Set A, Set B, Set C and Set D. The candidates can check the number of correct answers through the IBPS PO Answer Key. The steps to be followed to download the IBPS PO Answer Key is given below:

  • Click on the CWE PO/MT tab
  • Follow the link for IBPS PO Pre-Answer Key
  • Download the pdf file to save the answer key.

IBPS PO 2018 Cut Off

IBPS PO 2018 Cutoffs is decided based on various factors such as the number of vacancies, the number of candidates appeared in the exam, the common score obtained by the candidates, etc.

IBPS has set some sort of rules for deciding the cutoff:

  • Mean - 3/4 of Standard Deviation for SC/ST/PwD Category
  • Mean - 1/4 of Standard Deviation for General Category
  • There will be a second level cutoff point on total as per requirement

IBPS PO 2018 Selection Process

The main process for recruitment to the desired participating organization is the IBPS PO Selection Process. The candidates are shortlisted for the vacant position in the bank depending upon their performances in pre, mains and interview. Final selection of the candidates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) will depend upon the following factors:

  • Performance in the preliminary test,
  • Performance in the main test,
  • Verification of the documents, and
  • Performance in the interview
