HPCET 2017 Counselling

The HPCET Exam is held by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) for admitting students into B. Tech. and M. Tech courses in the institutions affiliated with HPTU. The HPCET 2017 Counselling starts once the HPCET 2017 Result and HPCET 2017 merit list is declared.

The HPCET 2017 counselling will consist of two rounds. The admissions to B. Tech. courses take place via three criteria- JEE Main 2017, HPCET 2017 and 10+2 examination score. Similarly, the HPCET 2017 seat allotment process for M. Tech. courses will be based on GATE 2017 score, then on HPCET 2017 and finally on the basis of B. Tech/B. E. marks.

HPCET 2017 Counselling Schedule for B.Tech Courses

The HPCET 2017 Counselling will start from the month of July, 2017. The HPCET 2017 seat allotment processwill follow the 15% All India Quota during all the rounds and stages. Below are the category-wise schedules for Round 1 and Round 2 HPCET 2017 Counselling. The schedule also mentions the venue of HPCET 2017 Counselling along with the Date and Time. HPCET 2017 B.Tech. Counselling Round 1

The Round 1 of HPCET 2017 Counselling consists of two stages in this particular order -JEE main 2017 and HPCET 2017 Entrance test. The HPCET 2017 seat allotment process for every consecutive stage will be based on the availability of seats after the previous stage has been over.

This round of HPCET 2017 counselling will be conducted via the JEE Main 2017 score. 50% of the seats are filled via this process. The JEE Main 2017 score is the normalized score of the candidate obtained by the giving 60% weightage on the JEE main 2017 entrance and 40 % weightage on the Class 12 score. The candidates must satisfy the minimum cut off set for the admission via the JEE Main 2017.

HPCET 2017 Counselling Round 2

The Round 2 of HPCET 2017 Counselling is conducted after the Round 1 has been over. This round of HPCET 2017 seat allotment is subjected to availability of seats. It consists of three stages- JEE Main 2017, HPCET 2017Examination and Class 12 score.

Stage 1: HPCET 2017 Counselling on the basis of JEE Main 2017 (subject to availability of seats)

50% of the remaining seats will be filled in the Round 2 of HPCET 2017 Counselling initially via JEE Main 2017 Score. The JEE Main 2017 score is the normalized score of the candidate obtained by the giving 60% weightage on the JEE main 2017 entrance and 40 % weightage on the Class 12 score. HPCET 2017 Counselling Guidelines

For those candidates who haven’t participated in the HPCET 2017 entrance and wish to take admission in the participating institutes via JEE Main 2017 should follow these HPCET 2017 Counselling steps:

  • The candidates must fill an Online Application Form. Only online submissions will be accepted and that too, the candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria. Every programme will need a separate application.
  • The candidates who have not taken the route of HPCET-2017 need to make payment of non-refundable Application Processing Fees of Rs.1200/- for each and every category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC), prior to submitting the Online Application Form.
  • The Online Application forms will be made available on the official website of the University. http:// himtu.ac.in. The candidates need to carefully go through the instructions given on the website regarding the application forms.
  • In case a candidate belongs to a particular reserved category, the fact should be mentioned clearly in the application form. If the candidate does not mention his or her category in the application form, a category against general will be considered by default.

For all the candidates who have to participate in the HPCET 2017 counselling has to follow these guidelines stated below:

  • Counselling session of a candidate will be considered valid only when he or she is personally present at the time of such procedure.
  • The Admission Selection Committee may call a candidate at any given time during counselling procedure and the candidate has to be personally present at that time.
  • The candidate who is in present there at the time of counselling shall be given the advantage of opting a seat of his or her choice from all the seats vacant.
  • In case of absence of the candidate at the time of counselling, the seat allotted to him/her shall stand forfeited. The candidate holding subsequent rank in the merit list will be offered that particular seat.
  • The candidates looking forward to get admission under the Management Quota will have to directly apply to the concerned Private Affiliating College together with all the necessary certificates and documents. Additionally, the mark sheet of National Level Entrance Test -2017 or HPCET-2017 shall be submitted.
  • The selected candidates will be forwarded the selection letter post-completion of all formalities.
  • In case of any change in the admission or counselling schedule, a notification will be issued at the official website of HPTU itself. No separate communication procedures will be adhered to with regard to this.

Note:  Last Date for filling any vacant available seats will be August 15, 2017, according to the judgment order of the Humble Supreme Court of India. There would not be any further admissions post this date under any category or quota. Any procedure related to counselling can go on till July 30, 2017.

Note: In case of any false or concealed or restrained information on the part of any candidate, such particular admission will be cancelled by default. That particular candidate will not be entitled to any claims against such institute or college or government or HPTU.

HPCET 2017 Counselling Guidelines for Candidates of Backward Areas

The below-mentioned clauses have to be adhered to by the candidates regarding admissions belonging to the backward areas:

  1. Candidates having cleared a minimum of 2 examinations via Primary or Middle or High or +2 from a school situated in any backward area.
  2. Candidates having cleared a minimum of 1 examination amongst Primary or Middle or High or +2 from a school situated in any backward area.
  3. Candidates having cleared the above-mentioned 2 examinations from a school that is situated in any instantly adjacent backward area.
  4. Candidates having cleared the above-mentioned 1 examination from a school situated in any area that is directly adjacent to a backward area.
  5. Candidates who only belong to a backward area having not cleared any of the examinations from there.

HPCET 2017 Counselling Guidelines for Candidates of Defense/Wards of ex-servicemen

The following mentioned points should be considered while giving admission to wards of defense personnel (including the civilians concerned with the G. T. Company, ASC)

  1. A person deceased in any war/action
  2. Handicapped during any war/action
  3. Death because of military service
  4. Handicapped during the course of service (Medically Board-out because of disability by reason of military service)

HPCET 2017 Counselling Guidelines for Sports Category Candidates

The candidates have to compulsorily fulfill the following conditions along with the production of necessary documents. The points in relation to this are as under:

These are the HPCET 2017 Counselling guidelines to be followed by the Sports Category Candidates:

  • Every candidate falling under the Sports Category will be listed under a specific merit list.
  • The merit ranks will be determined by allotting additional weightage as per the best sports played by the candidate.
  • The certificates issued by the above-specified Sports Authorities will only be considered valid.
  • Such merit rank obtained by a candidate will be relevant only for the Sports category.
  • The candidates who are from the sports category are required to provide their respective certificates before the Expert Committee for revaluation of authenticity.
  • If the documents are not found to be valid, the claims of the candidate will be out rightly rejected. Such revaluation of the certificates will be done by the Expert Committee set-up for this purpose at the HPTU, Hamirpur, HP. 
  • Reserved category candidates will be given preference over the general category candidates at the time of admission. In case of any vacancy in the seats of reserved category, such seats shall be offered to general category candidates at the conclusion of the final round of counselling.
  • A merit list candidate will be entitled to every round of counselling whether or not that particular candidate got involved in an earlier round of admission /counselling.

The following original documents are to be submitted by the candidates during the counselling procedure with 1 set of photocopies of the same:

  • Mark sheet given by the University/Board
  • Document certifying of passing in the qualifying examination
  • Character certificate issued by the immediately previous institution attended
  • Mark sheet or score card of the HPCET 2017 or National Level Entrance Examination
  • Date of Birth proof in the form of Higher Secondary Part I/Matriculation/Indian School Certificates
  • In case of Reserved Category candidates, a certificate regarding the same.
  • A certificate by the Executive Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate regarding the residence and address proof of the candidate.
