GCET 2017 Exam Pattern

GCET 2017 (Goa Combined Entrance Test) is a common entrance test conducted by the university of Goa for admission to the professional B. Tech program. The GCET 2017 exam pattern states that there will be a total of 225 questions in the GCET 2017 exam. These questions will be designed from the GCET 2017 exam syllabus.

The GCET 2017 exam is on May 10, 2017 and May 11, 2017.  The candidates need to prepare the class 12 syllabus as prescribed by the Goa State board. The GCET 2017 exam duration is two hours. It is an MCQs based (Multiple Choice Questions) exam. There is no negative marking and the cadndidate will get 1 mark for every correct answer.

GCET 2017 Exam Duration

The total duration of the GCET exam is 2 hours. The candidate has to attempt all the 75 questions in that duration. The exam schedule for the various sections is as follows

Marking Scheme for GCET 2017 Exam

The marking scheme defines the marks that will be awarded for every correct answer and deduction that takes place for every wrong answer. As per the GCET 2017 marking scheme

  • There is no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
  • No marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions.
  • No marks will be awarded if more than one answer is marked.
  • No marks will be awarded for the partially colored bubbles.

The candidates have to circle the bubble properly in the ORS (Optical Response Sheet) to get the marks awarded. The candidate has to fill the name of the candidate, roll number and name of the test center with a blue ball point pen. The correct way of circling the bubble is to color it completely. The system is designed to read only the completely filled bubbles.

Instructions for GCET 2017 Examination

The candidate must be aware of the instructions to be followed on the day of the exam. The candidate has to read the instructions given on the back side of the GCET 2017 admit card. The candidate can check the detailed instructions on our website. The list of few important instructions to be kept in mind on the day of the GCET 2017 exam is as follows:

  1. The ORS sheet will be used as GCET 2017 answer sheet. The candidate must read all the instructions give on the GCET 2017 answer sheet. The answer sheet should not be tempered.
  2. The candidate must keep in mind that all the 75 questions must be attempted in 2 hours duration. Each section has to be attempted completely in given time.
  3. There are 4 options given in each section the candidate has to attempt any one answer.
  4. The GCET 2017 marking scheme will be followed according to which no negative marking will be there. 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
  5. The GCET 2017 Result will be available on the official website and the notice board of the Goa state University.
  6. The candidates are allowed to retain a copy of the GCET 2017 answer sheet. Thus, the provision for any revaluation is not given. No requests will be entertained in this regard.
  7. Any changes that are done in the GCET 2017 exam schedule will be updated on the official website and newspapers. The candidate must not make calls about the same to the office.
