CCMT 2017 - Centralized Counselling For M.tech/M.Arch

CCMT 2017 – Centralised Counselling for M.tech/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Des is an online admission program for getting enrolled to all National Institute of technologies and other Technical colleges like IIT Allahabad and IIEST Shibpur, etc, which are centrally sponsored. The Centralised Counselling to postgraduate technical courses will be commencing from April 10, 2017. Candidates those who qualify GATE 2017 are eligible to participate in CCMT 2017. The Centralised Counselling is associated with the admission to postgraduate technical programs like engineering and architecture to all the Institute listed for this counselling also known as ‘Participating Institutes’.

The CCMT allows the candidates to fill only one application for all programs and to the colleges taking part in it provided that they meet the eligibility criteria. Unlike last year, this year the Centralised counselling will be conducted by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology of Surat (Gujarat).

Highlights of CCMT 2017

As per notification there are slight modifications in the rules and regulations of CCMT 2017. They are as follows:

  1. The participating colleges will the sole venue for the counselling to be held.
  2. In order to get final admission, candidates who were eligible for selected seats or attained any of the three rounds from any of the reporting centre or already paid the Seat Confirmation fee has to be physically present to that specific allotted college for payment of the balance fee of the institute and completion of other final admission procedure.
  3. All the new National Spot Round listed candidates must go to any of their nearest RC for verification of documents in order to consider their application for seat allotment of NSR.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the M.tch/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.Des courses are as follows:

  • The candidate must score a suitable GATE Score on any of the three year (2015/2016/2017).
  • As qualifying degree candidates must score minimum 6.5 CGPA or 60% (OC/OB categories) or 55% (SC/ST/PwD categories) from are recognised university.
  • If the result is yet to be announced for the above instance then the candidate has to produce a valid proof of the document till pre-final semester of that year at the reporting centre during DVC.
  • Percentage conversion to CGPA or vice versa is not allowed.
  • The courses eligibility depends on the combination of degree and streams and the GATE paper.  For seat pattern visit http://ccmt.nic.in as it states the availability of seats for each category.

CCMT 2017 Counselling Prcoedure:

  1. Registering online, Mentioning choices and Locking the same: All the candidates who are eligible for CCMT should list their names via payment of the specific registration fee for the counselling within a specific time period from the nearest location suitable to them. The payment should be strictly made through online with the SBI MOPS which involves payment through Net Banking, Credit Card/Debit Card and e-Challan. Post payment candidates will be allowed to access all the courses and its choices across all the Participating Institutes through online. Besides, candidates may take seek help of the Help Centres by logging on to http://ccmt.nic.in –Reporting Centres-Help Centres) for listing and mentioning the choices.
  2. Allotment of seats, Depositing fees of seat acceptance and Being physically present at the Reporting Centre: Candidates are allotted the seats according to their choices as stated in the registration form. It is also decided on the basis of merit list which is being done with more than one round of allotment procedure. The candidates who are listed for seat allotment have to pay the ‘Seat Acceptance Fee’ (Rs. 20,000) through SBI MOPS. For details of the ‘Reporting Centre’ visit the official web portal. Candidates who fail to pay the fee within the specific time period will be barred from admission. The documents which are needed to be produced at the time of reporting are: all the original documents for cross-checking, self-attested copy of the documents (photocopy), valid evidence of the payment of ‘Seat Acceptance Fee’. After the verification process candidates will be issued the Document Verification Certificate (DVC).

Category of Fees charged

Registration FeeNon-refundable security fee charged for taking part in CCMT allotment process.
Seat Acceptance FeeCost Charged when the candidate agrees to take the seat fixed to him/her. This is a portion of College fee, which will be later regulated with the finally fixed Institute’s enrolment fee.
Seat Confirmation FeeFee charged when the candidate gives consent about her/his acceptance of the final seat allotment. This is also a portion of College fee, which will be later regulated with the finally fixed Institute’s enrolment fee.
NSR partaking chargePayment of taking part in NSR round which is later adjusted with the College fee for allotting seats.
NSR FeeIt includes both NSR Participation fee and NSR Registration fee.
  1. Granting Admission to the ‘Allotted Institutes’: The candidates who are allotted seats and attained any if the three rounds from any of the RC have to pay the ‘Seat Confirmation Fee’ (Rs. 10,000) via SBI MOPS within certain time duration. The balance amount will be adjusted as per the ‘Allotted Institutes’ and its fees. The provisional amount of all the ‘Allotted Institutes’ are given in the CCMT web portal. After the payment is done candidates can download the ‘Provisional Seat Allotment Letter’ from the website within the last date.

Following to the download of ‘Provisional Seat Allotment Letter’ the candidates can directly approach the respective colleges for attending classes on the basis of schedule given in the website. For more details track the website regularly.

 To avoid any sort of disputes related to the counselling process and final admission the decision taken by the Chairperson of CCMT will be the ultimate.

CCMT 2017 Admission procedure

The admission process involves many rounds which are as follows:

Pre-allotment steps

It is suggested for the candidates to read the instruction carefully before registration and filling of choices:

  1. The registration fee is ₹ 2200/- for OC/OB and ₹ 1700/- for SC/ST/PwD, to be paid only via SBI MOPS. The registration fee is not reusable and would not be in sync with any other fee.
  2.  Candidates are instructed to check their eligibility for different programmes very cautiously.
  3.  All eligible candidates will have to register and fill their choices ONLINE during the specified time. All candidates must carefully enter the correct and verifiable personal information during online registration.
  4.  Candidates should read thoroughly all the norms before clicking on the “I agree” check box.
  5. During the choice filling process,  the candidates are free to change, reorder, delete and add their choices of courses till the last date.
  6. Candidate must ensure that whether they are fully eligible and satisfy all the special eligibility conditions.
  7. All the candidates must lock their final choices by 11:59 pm of May 11, 2017 i.e, Thursday for all the rounds of allotment.

Seat allotment and Reporting

The seat allotment in any round will be available on the CCMT website. A brief overview of which are as follows:

  1. All the candidates who get an allotment will have to report in person at any of the Reporting Centres, failing which seat allotment to that specific candidate will be cancelled.
  2. Candidates will have to produce valid GATE Score Card and all other valid original certificates for verification process.
  3. Before coming to Reporting Centre, the candidates have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of ₹ 20,000/- for all Categories via SBI MOPS. Evidence of payment of Seat Acceptance Fee is to be shown at the time of reporting.
  4. During reporting period, candidate is given the facility of specifying his willingness.
  5. If the allotted seat is of ‘higher preferred choice’ for a candidate, then, she/he will definitely forfeit the claim on the seat allotted in the earlier rounds.
  6. A Document Verification Certificate (DVC) will be issued to the candidates at the Reporting Centre after all documents verification.

Reporting at any Reporting Centre during any of the three rounds

When the seat is allotted to the candidate for the first time in any of the rounds, the candidate has to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee. Candidate has to produce the following documents during reporting at any of the RC:

  1. Printout of the Registration form and the locked choices.
  2.  Provisional Seat Allotment letter downloaded from the CCMT website
  3. Self attested copy of GATE score card (2015 or 2016 or 2017)
  4.  Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms
  5. Original Birth certificate Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth
  6. Original Mark sheet of Class XII
  7. Original Grade/Mark sheets of qualifying examination for all semesters
  8. Original Degree certificate, if completed
  9. Original Caste Certificate, if applicable.
  10. Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD),if applicable\
  11. Proof of payment of Seat Acceptance fee.
  12.  Three color passport size photographs
  13. Original Conduct Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended
  14. Original Transfer certificate from the Head of the institution last attended

Note: If the original certificates are not in English/Hindi version then translation of such certificates, duly certified by the Principal/Director of the graduating Institute, will be required to produce during the verification of documents. The certificate mentioned at Sr. No. xiii if not available at the time of reporting at RC, and then it is to be produced the same at the time of admission to the allotted Institutes.

National Spot Round

The National Spot Round (NSR) will be conducted after Internal Sliding by CCMT and physical reporting at the allotted institute. Following candidates are eligible for NSR:

  1. All eligible candidates who have taken withdrawal or not reported to any RC in earlier rounds for document verification or allotted institute for final admission.
  2. Candidates whose allotted seat is cancelled in earlier rounds due to non-fulfilments of any criteria but still fulfil eligibility requirement for admission.
  3. (iii) All eligible candidates who did not register for earlier three rounds (fresh candidates for NSR)
  4. Vacant seats for NSR will be displayed on the CCMT website as per the CCMT schedule.
  5. All eligible candidates for NSR will have to register and fill their choices ONLINE during the specified period.

Guidelines of e-challan processing

All payment of fee must be made as per schedule in the CCMT website. CCMT will not be responsible for any payments made after the due date. For making payment through e-Challan, the guidelines are as follows:

· The candidate needs to take print out of e-Challan form and make payment of the fee, in order to proceed with the counselling process within the specific time duration

· Candidates can pay the fee at any SBI branch.

· E-Challan form can be generated by the system only after fee payment.

· In case the candidate generates the e-Challan but do not make payment, their application process will be considered incomplete.

Jurisdiction

In case of any dispute rising out of the counselling procedure at any phase till the final allocation of institution, the decision of Chairman, CCMT-2017 shall be final. The jurisdiction for legal disputes, if any, will be limited to High Court of Gujarat at Ahmadabad and District Court Surat only.
