GATE 2017 CCMT - Centralized Counselling

CCMT 2017 is the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Plan./ M.Arch. conducted for the admission in 29 National Institutes of Technology and 11 Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. These institutes are the foremost institutions in India for Technical Education and are managed under the Ministry of Human Resource. The CCMT Counselling 2017 is an online counselling in which candidates can register themselves and put their GATE score, then candidate has to chose colleges and based on GATE score, candidates will be alloted the college. Candidates can register for the college which is alloted to them. CCMT Counselling 2017 schedule will announced after the declaration of GATE result. The candidates who qaulify the GATE 2017 can participate in CCMT 2017. Application Fee for CCMT is Rs. 2000 for general category candidates and Rs. 1500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

CCMT 2017 Dates

For participating in CCMT you need to follow the below mentioned calendar of CCMT 2017 dates for the admission process in NITs or CFTIs. The process will begin from release of brochure followed by the application process, 3 rounds of seat allotment and result declaration.

CCMT 2017 Eligibility

Candidates who want to take admission in NITs for M.Tech must register for CCMT 2017. However, only selected candidates will be able to participate in the CCMT Admission process 2017. The candidates wishing to apply for CCMT 2017 must satisfy the following eligibility criteria.

  • A CGPA of 6.5/ 10 or 60% is required in the qualifying degree for the candidate to apply.
  • A candidate must also have a valid GATE score and should be selected for CCMT 2017.

Steps to Apply for CCMT 2017

CCMT 2017 usually opens in the month of April after the GATE Result are declared. The selected candidates for CCMT 2017 must register and fill the preferences on the official website of CCMT. Following steps should be followed by the candidates to apply for CCMT 2017.

  • Candidates must register online by their name, email ID and details about the GATE Exam.
  • Candidates must login to their GATE account providing the correct email ID, personal details, academic qualification and other GATE details.
  • The Application/Registration fee for the counselling procedure must be paid by the candidates.
  • Candidates must choose between all the courses and institutes and submit their preferences.
  • Candidates are advised to print and preserve the registration form for future reference.

CCMT 2017 Rounds

CCMT 2017 is an online admission process for the candidates with a valid GATE Score. CCMT Counselling is announced by the Conducting Office after the GATE Results 2017 are announced. The selected candidates should register and participate in the online counselling procedure to take admission in the post-graduation courses in different NITs. The Seat Allotment in CCMT is based on the GATE score and preferences made by the candidates. Following is the counselling process of CCMT 2017:

  • Candidates must register and select their preferences for courses as well as the institutes they wish to get admitted in. The CCMT 2017 Registration Fee must be paid by the candidates during the registration process.
  • Candidates must choose and lock their choices till the last date. Any failure to do so, will lead to automatic locking of choices on the last date.

1st Round of Allotment 

  • All the candidates who have participated in the allotment process must open the official website and select the link for CCMT Round 1 Counselling Result.
  • Candidates must login by entering their registration no and password and download the CCMT 2017 Round 1 Counselling Result.
  • The candidate must choose between the options of Floating, Sliding and Freezing.
  • The candidates who are allotted an institute in this list must pay a sum of Rs. 20,000 as CCMT 2017 Seat Acceptance Fee through online payment gateways or through e-challan at any SBI Branch. He/she must also report at the reporting center before the last date after 1st round of allotment with all the original documents for document verification and with the proof of payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee in order to mark their acceptance of seat.
  • The candidates who are not allotted any college must opt to participate in the second round of the counselling process.
  • Candidates who are not allotted any colleges in the first round should verify their documents at the Verifying Center instead of any college as they are not allotted any.

2nd Round of allotment

  • All the candidates participating in the second round of the counselling should follow the same steps as mentioned in the first round to check CCMT Round 2 CounsellingResult.
  • The candidate must choose between the options of Floating, Sliding and Freezing.
  • The candidates who are allotted an institute in this list must pay a sum of Rs. 20,000 as Seat Acceptance Fee through online payment gateways or through e-challan at any SBI Branch. He/she must also report at the reporting center before the last date after 2nd round of allotment with all the original documents for document verification and with the proof of payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee in order to mark their acceptance of seat.
  • The candidates who are not allotted any college must opt to participate in the third round of the counselling process.

3rd Round of allotment

  • All the candidates participating in the third round of the counselling should follow the same steps as mentioned in the first round to check CCMT Round 3 CounsellingResult.
  • The candidate must choose between the options of Floating, Sliding and Freezing.
  • The candidates who are allotted an institute in this list must pay a sum of Rs. 20,000 as CCMT 2017 Seat Acceptance Fee through online payment gateways or through e-challan at any SBI Branch. He/she must also report at the reporting center before the last date after 3rd round of allotment with all the original documents for document verification and with the proof of payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee in order to mark their acceptance of seat.
  • The candidates who are not allotted any college must opt to participate in the Spot Counselling or the NSR Round of Counselling CCMT 2017 round of the counselling process.

CCMT 2017 Spot Round 

The CCMT 2017 NSR Round will be conducted after Internal Sliding. The candidates who are eligible and were not allotted a seat and fresh applicants can apply for the CCMT 2017 Spot round of Counselling. To Apply for NSR Counselling, candidates will have to apply again freshly.

  • All the candidates participating in the NSR Round of Counselling must check the Spot Round Result and report at the Reporting Centers for submitting fee using NIFT or Net Banking. Candidates who do not pay the NSR Fee or registered for the Spot Counselling will not be considered for the NSR Allotment.
  • Candidates who are already allotted colleges can directly report at the allotted college to submit the Document Verification Note, Provisional Admission Letter and the Payment Receipt of the fee after reporting.
  • If the Seat it allotted, there will be no fee refunded. If any seat is not allotted to the candidate, he/she will be refunded only the NSR Participation fee.
  • Candidates can either lock the allotted institute or choose to upgrade at any stage of the allotment process. If the candidate chooses “upgrade”, he/she will shifted upwards in the list of the institutes in the next list, if any.
  • After the document verification and payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee, a Document Verification Note (DVN), after all the relevant documents are verified and the fee payment.
  • Candidates must then pay the balance admission fee and then print and preserve the Provisional Admission Letter generated after the payment.
  • After receiving the Provisional Admission Letter, the candidates must report at the allotted institute and submit Document Verification Note, Provisional Admission Letter and the Payment Receipt of the fee after reporting.

CCMT 2017 Important Points

  • Candidates can change, delete, add or modify the order of the preferences given by them at any time till the last date of submitting the choices.
  • The candidates participating in the Seat Allotment process of CCMT 2017 Counselling will have to choose between the options of Floating, Sliding and Freezing.
  • Floating: If the candidate chooses this option, it would mean that the candidates is willing to be considered for all the higher ranking choices in his/her preference list across the institutes for further rounds of allotment.
  • Sliding: if the candidate opts for Sliding, it would mean that the candidate is willing to be considered for all the higher ranking choices in his/her preference list within the institutes allotted to him/her during the further rounds of allotment.
  • Freezing: If the candidate opts for Freezing, it would mean that he/she is willing to remain with the given programme and institute allotted to him/her.
  • Candidates who fail to pay the CCMT 2017 Seat Acceptance Fee during the given time period will not be considered for internal sliding and their seat will be forfeited.
  • If the seat allotted to the candidate is of higher preference than the last list, the seat allotted to the candidate will be automatically forfeited. That means that the candidate will automatically lose his/her right over the seat allotted to them in the last round.
  • The candidates who have paid the CCMT 2017 Seat Allotment Fee and opted for Sliding at the end of Round 3 will be considered for Internal Sliding.
