CUSAT CAT ENGINEERING 2017 OVERVIEW
STATE LEVEL ONLINE TEST
CUSAT CAT 2017 engineering exam (Cochin University of Science & Technology Common Admission Test) is held for admission to B. Tech programme. It is conducted for candidates seeking admission to various colleges under Cochin University.
The candidate must go through the CUSAT CAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria before applying for the exam. CUSAT CAT 2017 Application Process will start from January 20, 2017 onwards. The candidates can apply in online mode only. There will be 250 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the candidates will be given 3 hours to complete the exam.
The candidates will be able to download CUSAT CAT 2017 Admit Card from the official website from April 15, 2017 onwards. CUSAT CAT 2017 Result will be out in May, 2017. Only those candidates who have scored qualifying marks in the exam will be called for the counselling process.

The CUSAT CAT 2016 exam will be held on April 30, 2016. The application process will begin from January 20, 2017 onwards. The other important dates related to the CUSAT CAT 2017 are given below:

A candidate must fulfill the CUSAT CAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria for applying. In case a candidate fails to fulfill the eligibility, then his or her candidature will be cancelled.

The candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination from a recognized board with 60% marks. The candidates of SEBC (Socially and Educationally backward candidates) have to score a minimum of 55%. The main subjects are physics, chemistry and mathematics. The candidate must have secured 50% marks in mathematics separately.
The candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination from a recognized board marks with physics, chemistry and mathematics as main subjects. He or she must have score minimum 60% marks. The candidate must have secured 50% marks in mathematics alone. There is no relaxation in percentage.
The candidate has to clear the examination of class 12 from the state of Kerala. The minimum percentage required is 50% combining all the three main subjects. The main subjects are physics, chemistry and mathematics. Overall percentage required is 50%.
Candidates can apply online for CUSAT CAT 2017 Engineering Exam from January 20, 2017 to February 15, 2017. The application process is a simple 2 step process:
Step 1: Registration Process
The candidate has to give details as asked on the official website. The candidate has to give the details such as Name, Phone Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID. The candidate will be given a user ID and password at this stage. The details will be received on email id and mobile number. The change of password must be done.
Step 2: The User ID and Password obtained at the CUSAT CAT 2017 registration process will be used for filling the application form. The candidate must upload the scanned copy of passport size photograph and signature. The size of the photo must be less than 100 KB and signature must be less than 30 KB.
CUSAT CAT 2017 Engineering Exam application fee is Rs.1000 for the general category candidates. The application fee is Rs.500 for the SC/ST candidates.
The application fee can be paid by the following two modes:
Offline or Challan payment mode: The candidate can download the challan form from the official website. The candidate has to get the challan filed within 48 hours. The candidate has to fill the journal number online on the official website. The CUSCAT application form will not be accepted without the fee.
Online mode-Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking mode: For Net Banking, login to the internet banking account and select the option "Power Jyothi Fee Collection (PUL). Do the process further as asked.

The CUSAT CAT 2017 Admit Card will be available for download on the official website from April 15, 2017 onwards. The candidate must download the CUSAT 2017 admit card to appear for the exam. The candidate cannot enter the CUSAT test center without the admit card.

The CUSAT CAT 2017 test centers are the list of centers available for the examination. The centers are located in all the major cities of India. The candidate has to write the code for the center in the application form. The centers have to be filled as per the preference. The center once allotted cannot be changed. CUSAT CAT 2017 Exam Pattern gives detail about the duration of the exam, the number of questions and number of sections in the exam. The exam is conducted in the online mode only. The candidate is advised to reach the exam centre 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam.

The CUSAT CAT 2017 reservation criterion is as per the government scheme. The candidates of the state of Kerala are getting state benefits. The reservation claim requires the candidate to produce valid reservation certificate at the time of CUSAT CAT 2017 counselling. The candidates apart from KST (Kerala Schedule Tribe) and KSC (Kerala Schedule cast) are coming under SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) scheme.
The candidates are getting 40% reservation due to special reservation category scheme. The candidates are getting reservation as per the scheme below:
