CUCET 2017 PATTERN & SYLLABUS
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
The CUCET Exam Pattern contains two parts- Part A & Part B. Each part contains 25 and 75 Multiple Choice Questions respectively. Part A is common for all the CUCET test takers. However the sections of the PART B tend to differ according to the candidate’s course of study. CUCET Exam is conducted for the intake of candidates for various courses of undergraduate, integrated programs, postgraduate degree programs and research programs in the 9 Central Universities of India. The CUCET Application Form for 2017 will be available from March 14, 2017 to April 20, 2017. The tentative date of CUCET 2017 is May 21-22, 2017.

The CUCET Exam Pattern consists of multiple choice type objective questions. All the question papers consist of two parts. Total time duration of CUCET 2017 is 2 hours. The parts are contains question from different subjects and they are explained as follows:
Subjects covered: English Language, General Awareness, Mathematical Aptitude and Analytical Skills.
The number of questions is this part is 25.
Subjects covered: Domain Knowledge
This part contains 75 multiple choice type questions. This part may consist of one/two/three or more sections. Each section can have 25 or more questions. A candidate should answer a set of ‘X’ sections(75 questions) as specified on the front cover of the Test Question Booklet. However, he must make sure to fill the right circles in the OMR Sheet corresponding to the question numbers attended.
For example, if Part B consists of four subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology and the instruction says that the candidate has to attempt any three subjects to choose as PCB or PCM according to the subjects studied by the candidate in class 12th. If a candidate attempts all the questions from all the sections then the best of the 3 sections shall be considered while preparing the merit list.
For Admission to some Integrated Courses/MBA/LLB or any other general course(s), only one paper comprising of 100 MCQs covering English language, reasoning, data interpretations/numerical ability, general awareness and analytical skills will be held.
Each candidate has to mark only one answer on the OMR sheet. If the candidate marks more than one circle, then the question shall be considered as wrong.
The marking scheme of the question papers for all the entrance tests is same. There is negative marking for every wrong answer. Each question carries 3 marks and for every right answer, the candidate will be awarded three marks, however, for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. If questions are left unanswered, there is not deduction or awarding for them. These questions will not be assessed and will not be considered while preparing the merit list.

For UG entrances, the candidates have to refer to the any 3 of the following subjects. The syllabus is based on the general Class 10+2 level syllabus for the respective courses.
Apart form this for the Part A of the CUCET Exam for UG courses, there is no definite official syllabus. However, the questions will be asked from – English Language, General Awareness, Mathematical Aptitude and Analytical Skills subjects.
