CSSET 2017 Exam Pattern

Combined Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed.) Entrance Test 2017 or CSSET is conducted by Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha. It is held every year for three Sanskrit deemed universities- Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, New Delhi; Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. CSSET 2017 is a national level test conducted for candidates seeking admission in B.ED course. The application form will be available from January 4, 2017 till February 26, 2017. CSSET 2017 will be held on May 8, 2017 (10:00 A.M to 12:40 P.M.). It is a 2.5 hour duration test. CSSET 2017 is divided into two sections Part A and Part B (Objective and Descriptive). Candidates can score maximum 200 marks in this examination.

Duration of CSSET 2017 Exam

A candidate who wants to take admission in B.ED Course has to appear for written examination. The medium of the examination will be Sanskrit language. The duration of CSSET 2017 is two and a half hours. It is divided as follows:

  1. Part A- (10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.)-This section contains objective type of questions. Candidates are given two hours to complete Part A.
  1. Part B- (12:10 P.M. to 12:40 P.M.)- You will be given half an hour to complete this section. It contains descriptive type of questions. Candidates will be provided separate question paper and answer sheet for Part B.

Students will be given 10 minutes extra for collecting the question paper booklets, OMR sheet and distribution of answer sheet for Part B. Question paper for Part B will be distributed at 12:05 P.M. only. Students are required to keep sitting in their respective seats during this period of time.


Format of CSSET 2017 Question Paper

CSSET 2017 question paper will be divided into two parts. Part 'A' and Part 'B'. The question paper format of both Part A and Part B is mentioned below:

CSSET 2017 Part A

CSSET 2017 Part A contains 40 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Four options will be given for every multiple choice question. Out of these 4 options, only one option is correct. Therefore, candidates must mark only one answer for every question. In case a candidate marks more than one answers for a question, then he or she will not be rewarded any marks. All the questions will be in Sanskrit. The answer to each question carries 4 marks.

Part A is further divided into four sections that are mentioned below in the table:

CSSET 2017 Part B

CSSET 2017 Part B will be of writing Sanskrit language-based questions. A candidate can score maximum 40 marks in this section. It is compulsory for a candidate to attempt all the sections.

Evaluation Method of CSSET 2017

A candidate needs to secure minimum 35% marks separately in both Sanskrit Literature and Proficiency in Sanskrit Language sections of Part A. In General Knowledge and Mental Ability and Teaching Aptitude sections of Part A; a candidate is required to secure minimum 20% marks independently in both sections. An applicant also needs to score minimum 35% marks in Part B. To qualify for the evaluation of Part B; a candidates needs to pass Part A with obligatory marks in all sections. An applicant who is able to secure minimum passing marks in both Part A and Part B will be eligible to get admission into the desired course in any of the three deemed universities.



Syllabus for CSSET 2017

CSSET 2017 is held for admission to B.ED course. The questions are asked from the syllabus provided by the competent authority. The candidates need to focus on both Sanskrit Language writing and literature subjects. You can download CSSET Syllabus from here.

Sample papers give you an idea about the type of questions that can be asked in the examination. Therefore, a candidate should go through at least one sample paper before giving an exam. You can download CSSET Sample Paper from here.


Instructions to Fill CSSET 2017 OMR Sheet

CSSET 2017 is a pen and paper based test. A candidate is required to fill the OMR Sheet for Part A of the exam. OMR Sheet will have Page 1and Page 2. On Page 1 candidates have to fill their details such as his or her Name, Roll Number, Question Booklet number, Answer Sheet Number and Date of Birth. You also need to sign at the bottom of the sheet. It is very important for a candidate to fill all the details in the OMR sheet very carefully. Details such as Name of the Candidate, Roll Number and Date of Birth should be same as mentioned in the Admit Card of the candidate. On Page 2 of the OMR sheet candidate has to mark answers to the respective questions.

Given below are the instructions to fill the CSSET 2017 OMR Sheet

  • A candidate needs to fill his or her details in the OMR Sheet using English capital letters or numerals.
  • Use Blue dot pen to fill the details in the boxes and Blue/Black pen to darken the circles in the boxes.
  • Below each box, you have to darken only the matching circle using Blue/Black pen.
  • Mark your answers carefully in the OMR sheet. Each multiple choice question has only one answer. Therefore, darken only one of the 4 circles with Blue/Black pen.
  • Once you have marked an answer in the OMR sheet, you cannot change it any situation. That is why; it is important to avoid these kinds of mistakes.
  • Candidates are not allowed to do rough work in the provided answer sheet.
  • Make sure you do not mark anywhere else in the OMR Sheet except for marking details in the boxes and answers with Blue/Black pen.
  • Candidates are advised to read and follow all the instructions mentioned on the Question Booklet and Admit Card.

A Separate answer sheet will be provided to the candidate for Part B. The candidates again have to fill all their details in the sheet. Separate space for answering each question is given is provided in the sheet.
