CSIR UGC NET 2017 PATTERN & SYLLABUS
NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
CSIR UGC NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research UGC NET) exam is on June 18, 2017. UGC NET exam contains 3 sections and is to be completed in 3 hours. The candidate has to attempt all the sections to get selected. It will test the general as well as subjective knowledge of the applicant.
CSIR UGC NET is conducted in both the sessions. The morning session starts from 9.00 am and ends at 12.00 pm. The afternoon session starts at 2.00 pm and ends at 5.00 pm. The candidates who have a visual disability are awarded 40 extra minutes to work with the UGC NET question paper.
According to the CSIR UGC NET marking scheme, a candidate will be rewarded 1 mark for every correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. The UGC NET MCQ based exam is to be conducted in both Hindi and English languages.
CSIR UGC NET exam will be conducted in the paper-pen based mode. The candidate must keep the following details of the exam pattern in mind to prepare well for the exam:

CSIR UGC NET exam will have 200 questions and a candidate will get a time of 2 hours to complete these questions. For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded to the candidate. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total score. In case two options are correct for a particular question then marks will be awarded for both the options.
The UGC NET time duration is increased for the visually disabled candidates. They can complete their test in 2 hours 40 minutes. UGC NET written test will be followed by a typing test. For every vacant seat, 5 candidates will be competing. This means that the seat: candidate ratio will be 1:5.
The UGC NET MCQ based exam will be conducted in two sessions. The morning and evening session details of UGC NET are as follows:

CSIR UGC Net paper will contain 3 parts; part A, B and C. The UGC NET exam will contain subjects as follows:
Part A: The part A of CSIR UGC net exam is common for all the exam participants. This section is designed to check the basic General Aptitude. The emphasis is given on testing the logical science, quantitative ability, graphical analysis, puzzles, questions on series, etc.

Part B: It is designed to check the subject knowledge. The questions will be designed on basic theoretical knowledge. The candidates just need to be through the entire subjective course of his or her stream.
UGC NET exam can be easily cracked with the help of the UGC NET sample papers. The UGC NET sample papers are available online on the official UGC website. The candidate can check the UGC sample paper and the answer key for the sample papers on the official website.
The UGC NET sample papers or the UGC NET previous year papers give you an insight of the UGC NET exam pattern. The UGC NET exam paper for each of the subjects is loaded on the UGC website. There are 3 sets of question papers for each of the subjects. The candidate must work with the UGC sample paper and the corresponding answer key once he/she has completed the UGC NET practice paper.
