CLAT 2017 Exam Centers

CLAT Exam Centers 2017 are pre-defined by CNLU Patna (Chanakya National Law University, Patna). Exam centers are locations where the national level exam will be conducted. Candidate needs to select at most 3 centers at the time of filling in CLAT Application Form 2017. The authorities will finally assign the exam center as per the availability. 

For academic session 2017-18, the Council of Architecture has assigned CNLU Patna (Chanakya National Law University, Patna) as the conducting body. JNTU has scheduled the exam for May 14, 2017. It will be conducted in online mode. CLAT is conducted separately for admissions to LL.B. and LL.M. programs. For this year, there are around 66 exam centers across India.


CLAT Exam Centres 2017

Candidates while filling CLAT Form 2017 needs to mention their exam center choices. It is important to fill the choices carefully and wisely, to avoid any hurdles during the process. The list of 66 examcities is now released on the official website of CLAT. One can go through the following table to know about the centers. It is provisional as the number of exam cities may vary depending on the number of candidates appearing in the exam.

Note: Candidates will have to indicate their preference of Exam Centers while filling-in online CLAT Application form on official website. They have to mention the exam centers in the decreasing order of preference. They can choose a maximum of three exam centers. After choosing the centers, candidates will click on ‘Save & Continue’ to submit their preference and move to the next tab as indicated below. CLAT Committee will try to ensure that candidates are allotted exam centers as per their preference during registration.


Important Points relating to CLAT Exam Center

  • The CLAT Authority reserves the right to allot by the final CLAT Exam Center.
  • Candidates should note that once the center is allotted, no changes can be made at later stages.
  • One must reach the center at least 30 minutes before the exam commences.
  • CLAT Admit Card will have complete address of CLAT Exam Center.

Verification Documents Required at Exam Center

Candidate must carry anyone of the photo ID proof mentioned below for verifying identity, along with CLAT Admit Card. The list is as follows:

  • PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter’s ID Card
  • Bank Passbook with photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized College/ University
  • Aadhar card with a photograph/ Employee ID/  Bar Council Identity Card

Scribe for PwD candidates

The candidates who are applying under Specially Abled Persons (SAP) category will be allowed 40 minutes extra to complete the exam. The category of disability would include blindness, low vision, locomotor disability, mental retardation, hearing impairment, etc. They are required to provide a certificate of disability, issued by a competent authority.

The facility of scribe is also applicable for PwD candidates. Applicants who require scribe during exam should indicate the same during online registration. They must also upload the photocopies of the relevant documents (attested by Gazetted officer). The list of documents are mentioned below:

  • Certificate of Disability from appropriate authority
  • Statement indicating whether scribe will be brought by candidate or required to be provided by the CLAT authorities.
  • Declaration from the scribe, in case arranged by the candidate, stating that he/she would comply with all the rules & regulations and would not indulge in any unfair activity like helping out the candidate in answering questions. They will only perform their duty of reading out the questions and marking/clicking the correct answers.

Do’s and Don’ts at Exam Centers

Candidates are advised to adhere to the instructions mentioned below at their respective exam centers:

Do’s

  • Carry all the requisite documents carefully along with the CLAT 2017 Admit Card.
  • They should ensure that the computer systems are working
  • Candidates are advised to report at least one hour prior to the commencement of exam.
  • Candidate should maintain the conduct during the examination.
  • Rough work is required to be done only on the space available on the exam booklet.
  • Handle the OMR sheet carefully to prevent any damage.

Don’ts

  • Candidates should make sure that they are not carrying any unrequired things like paper chits or electronic devices to the test center.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter examination after 30 minutes from the commencement of the exam.
  • They should not carry any electronic gadgets like calculators, mobile phones, digital watches, etc.
