CLAT Exam Centers

CLAT Exam Centers 2018 are predefined by NUALS Kochi (National University of Advanced Legal Studies). Exam centers are locations where CLAT exam is conducted. Candidate needs to select at most 3 centers at the time of filling in CLAT Application Form 2018. They have to mention the exam centers in the decreasing order of preference.

The authorities will finally assign the exam center as per the availability. Around 50,000 candidates appear for CLAT each year. To accommodate such a large number, the exam is conducted in several cities across India.

Listed below are key points related to CLAT Exam Center:

  • There are nearly 66 exam centers where CLAT 2018 will be conducted.
  • Candidates appearing for the law entrance exam must not forget to carry their CLAT Admit Card.
  • Once the venue is allocated, there will be no option to change the center at later stages.

Common Law Admission Test is a national-level entrance examination which is conducted on rotational basis by 18 NLUs every year. NUALS Kochi has scheduled the exam for May 14, 2018 (tentative). It will be conducted in online mode. It is conducted separately for admissions to LL.B. and LL.M. programs. 


CLAT Exam Centers in India

  • There are 66 cities where CLAT exam will be conducted in May 2018.
  • It must be noted that the list mentioned below is based on the last year’s exam cities.
  • This year, there may be some changes in the number of cities and exam centers.

Documents Required at Exam Center

Candidate must carry anyone of the photo ID proof mentioned below for verifying identity, along with CLAT Admit Card. The list is as follows:

  • PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter’s ID Card
  • Bank Passbook with photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Photo identity proof issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead along with photograph
  • Valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized College/ University
  • Aadhar card with a photograph/ Employee ID/  Bar Council Identity Card

Scribe for PwD candidates

The candidates who are applying under Specially Abled Persons (SAP) category will be allowed 40 minutes extra to complete the exam. The category of disability would include blindness, low vision, locomotor disability, mental retardation, hearing impairment, etc. They are required to provide a certificate of disability, issued by a competent authority.

The facility of scribe is also applicable for PwD candidates. Applicants who require scribe during exam should indicate the same during online registration. They must also upload the photocopies of the relevant documents (attested by Gazetted officer). The list of documents are mentioned below:

  • Certificate of Disability from appropriate authority
  • Statement indicating whether scribe will be brought by candidate or required to be provided by the CLAT authorities.
  • Declaration from the scribe, in case arranged by the candidate, stating that he/she would comply with all the rules & regulations and would not indulge in any unfair activity like helping out the candidate in answering questions. They will only perform their duty of reading out the questions and marking/clicking the correct answers.

Do’s and Don’ts at Exam Centers

Candidates are advised to adhere to the instructions mentioned below at their respective exam centers:

Do’s

  • Carry all the requisite documents carefully along with the CLAT Admit Card.
  • They should ensure that the computer systems are working
  • Candidates are advised to report at least one hour prior to the commencement of exam.
  • Candidate should maintain the conduct during the examination.
  • Rough work is required to be done only on the space available on the exam booklet.
  • Handle the OMR sheet carefully to prevent any damage.

Don’ts

  • Candidates should make sure that they are not carrying any unrequired things like paper chits or electronic devices to the test center.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to enter examination after 30 minutes from the commencement of the exam.
  • They should not carry any electronic gadgets like calculators, mobile phones, digital watches, etc.
