CEED 2017 Registration, Application Form

CEED 2017 Registration concluded on November 20, 2017. CEED 2017 will be conducted by IITB on January 22, 2017. To apply for CEED Exam, candidates had to register themselves at the official website, fill the CEED application form 2017 and then pay the Registration Fee. The fee was to be paid through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. All the candidates who successfully completed the CEED 2017 Registrations, can now download the admit card for CEED 2017 till January 21, 2017.

CEED 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Those candidates who wish to apply for CEED must first ensure that they are eligible for the CEED 2017 Registration. It is very important to check eligibility before applying. The application of a candidate who is not eligible may be liable for rejection.

Aspirants wishing to apply for CEED 2017 must fulfil any one of the following CEED Eligibility Criteria listed below:

  • Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or an equivalent (4 years programme after 10+2).
  • Candidate is required to have a Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years programme after 10+2).
  • Candidate must have B.F.A. (4 year professional programme after 10+2).
  • Candidate must possess a degree in G.D. Art (5 year programme after 10th).
  • Candidate is required to have a Master’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Applications (2 year programme after 10+2+3). ) with one year post qualification professional experience.

The candidates with a 3-years Bachelor degree are not eligible for CEED 2017 Registrations.

CEED 2017 Registration 

The candidates who wish to seek admission into the post graduate design programmes of the prestigious institutes in the country must appear for CEED 2017. The primary step for the CEED 2017 Application Process is registration for the exam.

The application process of CEED 2017 is broadly divided into four main steps. The following flowchart graphically explains the main steps of CEED 2017 Registration.

  • Visit the Official Website of CEED 2017 i.e. http://ceed.iitb.ac.in/2017/
  • Click on the link “Apply for CEED 2017” to begin the online registration process.
  • Provide a valid email address and a mobile number for the purpose of registration.
  • Post Submission of the details, an email is sent to the provided email address by the CEED office with a link to verify the email address.
  • Click on the link received for verification.
  • The password will be sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Feed the password sent to you via SMS into the login screen along with your email address.
  • After successfully logging in, you can start filling in the CEED Application form. You will also be provided with an application number.

CEED 2017 Registration Fee

The candidates are required to submit the application form for CEED through its official website. The CEED application form can only be submitted online and hence, the CEED 2017 application fee would have to be paid online as well.

Options such as Credit Card, Debit Card and Net Banking will be available for fee payment by the candidate. The application fee is a non-refundable amount and varies for different candidates. Given below is the detailed break-up of the CEED 2017 application fee scheme:

The candidate must pay the application fee for it to be submitted successfully. After the fee has been paid, no details can be further modified. The candidates can pay the CEED 2017 Application fee through online mode only.

Steps to pay CEED 2017 Registration Fee

Provided below are the steps the candidate must follow for fee payment –

  • Verify the details filled carefully.
  • Click on ‘Pay Fee and Submit’ button to be redirected to Bill Desk for application fee payment.
  • The fee payment can be done using Internet banking, Credit card or Debit card through Bill Desk.
  • If paying through Credit Card, enter the card number and PIN to carry out the payment.
  • If paying through Debit Card, enter the card number and CVV number for payment.
  • For Internet Banking, enter the account number and OTP received on the registered mobile number.

After the payment is received, the candidates are redirected to a confirmation page. The details about the same is given below:

  • Once the payment is successfully completed, you will get a confirmation page.
  • Save this confirmation for future reference.
  • Download a pdf copy of the application form after fee payment.

How to retrieve Registration/Application Number

The candidates receive the application number for CEED 2017 during the CEED 2017 Registration. The candidates must follow the steps given below to retrieve the application number if lost:

  • Check the e-mail ID entered during registration for the CEED 2017 Application Process.
  • Login to the CEED 2017 official website with the registered email id and password. All the details related to the application are available on the official website.

In case, the candidate forgets the password or loses the password to login as a registered user then he/she must follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Click on the “Forgot password” link.
  • Enter the details (e-mail ID and mobile number) entered during registration.
  • You may receive the password on your e-mail ID or mobile.

If you forget the email address, first try to enter other email addresses you may have.

As a last resort, you can send an email to CEED office at iitb.ac.in with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Date of Birth
  • Registered Mobile Number

CEED 2017 Application Form Filling

Once the candidate has completed the CEED 2017 Registration, he/she will be provided an application number for CEED 2017. Now, the candidate can start the process of filling the CEED application form 2017. Given below are the steps that the candidate is advised to follow for filling the CEED 2017 application form:

  • Login with the registered email id and password received.
  • Furnish the personal details such as Candidate’s Name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, Father’s Name etc.
  • Enter the academic details in the required fields.
  • Enter the communication details mentioning the e-mail ID, mobile number (mentioned during registration), address etc. in the CEED 2017 Application form.
  • Next, choose three examination cities in the order of preference. If first city is unavailable, the next choice will be allocated to the candidate.

Verify all the details carefully before submission of the CEED 2017 Application Form. The candidates are then required to upload the scanned images of the photograph, signature and other necessary additional documents. The steps to upload the documents is given below:

  • Now, upload your photograph, signature and required certificates.
  • Click on the link or blank area on the CEED 2017 Application Form to upload the photograph.
  • Browse the photograph and click on Upload.
  • Repeat the same steps for the signature and other supporting documents.
  • The file name must be according to the documents and the mentioned format.

The candidates must check that all the documents are successfully uploaded before submission of the CEED 2017 Application Form. The candidates are required to submit the CEED 2017 Application form to continue the process of application fee payment. The steps to submit the CEED 2017 Application form are given below:

  • The CEED 2017 Application form can be saved anytime later.
  • Check that all fields are filled and the information entered must be true and authentic.
  • Review the form carefully before paying the fee as no changes are allowed after fee payment.
  • Now, click on “Pay fee and final submit” to pay the fee and submit the final CEED 2017 Application form.

Documents Required during CEED 2017 Application Form Filling

In order to successfully fill theCEED Application form, the candidates are required to upload some important documents. These documents must be scanned properly in correct format and size to complete the CEED 2017 Registration Form. The list of necessary documents required for form filling are –

  • A recent colour photograph of the candidate in .jpg format
  • Signature of the candidate in .jpg format
  • Scanned copy of Category Certificate for SC/ST and OBC Candidates in .pdf format
  • Scanned copy of PwD certificate issued by an appropriate authority for candidates from the PwD Category in .pdf format 
  • Scanned copy of the candidate’s eligibility certificate (.pdf file);  degree certificate if the course is completed or the certificate from the Principal of respective college if the course is not completed
  • A certificate for the post qualification professional experience for students with a degree in G.D. Art

The candidate must note that the documents must be scanned properly and tagged with the correct application number in the CEED 2017 Application Form. The photograph and signature must be of good quality as it will be included in the CEED Admit Card and CEED 2017 Score Card.


CEED 2017 File Naming Specifications

The files that have to be submitted in digital format as a part of the application process of CEED 2017 must be named appropriately. Candidates must make sure the correct documents are scanned and named properly.

Some guidelines have been issued for helping the candidates name these files correctly. Following are the rules to name the necessary files-

  1. Photograph – applicationno._photo.jpg
  2. Signature - application no._sign.jpg
  3. Eligibility Certificate – applicationno._degree.pdf
  4. Experience Certificate – applicationno._exp.pdf
  5. Category Certificate – applicationno._catcert.pdf
  6. PwD Certificate – applicationno._pwdcert.pdf

CEED 2017 Photograph Specifications

The photograph of the candidate that has to be uploaded in the CEED 2017 Application Form needs to meet some specified requirements. The candidate must ensure that his/her photograph is in accordance with the guidelines specified below:

  • The photograph of the candidate must be taken in colour in a professional studio. No self-composed portraits and mobile photographs are acceptable.
  • Only white or a light blue background photograph is acceptable.
  • The photograph must be recently taken and should not be more than 3 months old.
  • The candidate’s face should occupy about 50% of the area in the photograph with eyes looking into the camera directly.
  • The main features of the candidate’s face must not be covered by hair, cloth or shadow.
  • If the candidate is wearing spectacles in the photograph, he must ensure that there is no glare in the spectacles. Candidates can avoid it by tilting the spectacles downward slightly.
  • The candidate must not be wearing dark or tinted spectacles. They must be clear.
  • The photograph must be in .jpg format.
  • The maximum pixel resolution allowed is 640x480 while the minimum pixel resolution can be 320x240.

CEED 2017 Signature Specifications

The candidates are advised to follow the below mentioned steps to upload their digital signature as a part of their application form successfully.

  • The candidate must put his signature on a plain white paper with dark blue ink.
  • The signature must be digitally scanned and cropped to the specified size.
  • The signature must be in .jpg format.
  • The maximum pixel resolution allowed is 300x800 whereas the minimum pixel resolution can be 150x400.

CEED 2017 Category Certificate

The candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) Category are required to provide their valid Category Certificates when applying for CEED 2017.

  • For OBC-NCL Certificates, only those that have been issued after March 31, 2016 will be accepted.
  • For Person with Disability (PwD) Category, the candidate must provide his PwD Certificate that has been issued by appropriate authorities.

The final merit list of CEED will be prepared after taking into consideration all the certificates that have been submitted by the candidates in the CEED 2017 Application form. Therefore, the candidate must ensure the accuracy and authentication of the Category Certificates.

CEED 2017 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Ques. What is the mode of payment of application fee for CEED 2017?

Ans. Application Fee (non-refundable) is INR 2200 for Men General/OBC category Applicants, INR 1100 for SC/ST/PwD candidates and all women candidates. The fees can be paid through Internet banking, Credit card or Debit card.

Ques. Do I need to paste photograph and put signature on my application?

Ans. No. Since the application would be submitted online, you need to upload photograph and signature in JPG format as instructed in online application process. For more details, refer information brochure.

Ques. Do I need to post my application and attachments?

Ans. No. Do not send the printed copy of your application and enclosures. Candidates have to upload scanned copies of additional supporting documents in PDF format (degree certificates /marksheets / category certificates / PwD certificates, and experience certificate in the case of candidates with GD Arts qualification), if the candidate has more than one experience certificate, scan all of them and create a single pdf file and then upload.

Ques. After submission of application, am I permitted to change my Examination City?

Ans. Requests for change of Examination City may be permitted if a request with a valid reason for the same is received in the office of the Chairperson, CEED 2016, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai – 400 076 on or before 26th October, 2015 along with a Demand Draft of 500/- drawn in favour of “Registrar, IIT Bombay”, on any Nationalized Bank, payable at Mumbai. The decision of the Chairperson, CEED, in this regard will be final.
