CAT 2017 Exam Centers

CAT 2017 is scheduled in the month of December. There will be 2 sessions , In forenoon  from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon  and in afternoon 2:30 p.m.to 5:30 p.m. Candidates have to report to the test center  1 and a half hour prior to the test timings.Candidates have to carry admit card and original Id proof to the exam hall.

This year CAT Exam will be conducted in 135 cities. In the year 2015, the number of test cities were increased from 99 to 136. Consequently, number of exam centers were also increased from 307 to 650. For Candidates in the Differently Abled category (Low vision and Cerebral palsy), Wheel Chairs will be made available at the test center according to the preference filled in the application form. CAT 2017 Post Exam Interview Centers

Candidates who clear the CAT Exam stage are called for Group Discussion/Written Ability Test, and Personal Interview. The interviews, earlier, were held at the respective IIMs and the selected candidate had to travel to the respective city for the GD-PI session. However, this posed a problem to candidate’s who received calls from multiple IIMs.

KNOW ABOUT CAT PREPARATION

With the aim of cost cutting, and for convenience of candidates, many IIMs conduct interviews in common cities. The table below lists out the interview cities for respective IIMs. For the newer IIMs, one of the older IIMs is the conducting authority.

Do’s and Don’ts at CAT Exam Center

Appearing for CATcan be a stressful experience. While a good preparation can help control the jitters, there are always certain points other than preparation which an aspirant should keep in mind. Here we have listed a few points which a candidate must keep in mind on the day of exam.

  1. Must bring CAT 2017 Admit Card on Exam Day: On no condition, should you forget to bring your admit card to the exam center. Without your admit card you will not be allowed to appear for the exam.
  2. Carry a valid ID proof: Along with your admit card, you should also carry a valid id proof with you. It could be any document from the following:
  • College Id Proof
  • Employer Id
  • PAN Card
  • Voter Id card
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Driving License
  • UID
  1. Do not carry any other document besides Admit Card and Id Proof: Apart from your admit card and Id proof, you do not need to carry any additional document to your CAT 2017 exam center on the exam day.
  2. Carry Name Change Document (if applicable): For candidates who have changed their name with due process but still have their old names on official documents should also carry their name change document along with admit card and Id proof.
  3. Do not carry a Calculator: You will be provided with a virtual calculator during the exam. So you do not need to carry a calculator. If you still bring a calculator you may be liable to rejection.
  4. Do not carry a watch: CAT is a computer based exam and will have an on-screen timer to keep a track of duration elapsed. So you do not need to carry a watch or a timer.
  5. Do not carry any Stationery item: As mentioned, CAT is a computer based test and a candidate have to select their answers on the computer screen allotted to them. So there is no need to carry any stationery item to the exam center.
  6. Any other personal item is not allowed: Any other personal item such as mobile phone, purses, wallets, bags, any kind of case etc. would not be allowed at the exam centers. If you bring any such item to the exam center, you will have to leave them outside the center. Your allotted center may or may not have the provision for baggage care, it is prudent to leave these items at home and carry only essentials with you.
