AP PGECET 2017- Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test
AP PGECET 2017 is a state level examination conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Through this exam candidates are granted admissions into M.E., M.Tech. and M.Pharma. courses offered at universities in Andhra Pradesh. For the academic session 2017-18, APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) appointed Andhra University as the organising body for PGECET 2017. The exam successfully concluded on May 12, 2017. It took place across12 centers in two sessions across Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad.

- Post declaration of Results, the participating colleges/universities will release their respective AP PGECET Cut Off.
- Candidates satisfying the required cut off will be eligible to participate in the counselling process for final admissions. Candidates have to go through the certification process before appearing for AP PGECET Counselling
AP PGECET is a prerequisite for admission to Engineering and Pharmacy courses offered by various universities in Andhra Pradesh. Candidates must go through AP PGECET Eligibility before applying for PGECET 2017. Hall Ticket of PGECET 2017 will be issued from April 29, 2017 onwards. The exam is a Computer Based Test wherein a candidate has to answer questions online, in English medium. The exam consists 120 Multiple Choice Questions to be answered within 2-hour. Note: Candidates having GATE and GPAT scores are not required to appear for AP PGECET 2017. Admission will be granted on the basis of their rank in GATE/GPAT. They need to register separately for admissions.
Latest Updates in AP PGECET 2017
- The state-level Common Entrance Test is conducted in online mode (CBT- Computer Based Test).
- APSCHE has assigned Andhra University, Visakhapatnam to organize the exam for the academic session of 2017-18.
- Andhra University will hold the exam for 3 days (May 10 to May 12, 2017) in 2 shifts per day.
- The number of AP PGECET Exam Centers have now been increased to 12.

AP PGECET Eligibility Criteria 2017
Candidates willing to pursue PG courses from colleges in Andhra Pradesh must ensure that they satisfy AP PGECET 2017 Eligibility before applying for the exam. Failure to fulfill any conditions will lead to rejection of AP PGECET 2017 Application Form. The eligibility conditions are given below:
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- They must belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
- Candidates must meet the local /non-local status requirements as prescribed for admissions.
For Engineering courses:
- Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
For Pharmacy Courses:
- Candidate must have scored at least 55% marks (50% for SC and ST category) in the qualifying examination.
Note:Each institute affiliated to Andhra University has their own eligibility standards for M.Tech courses.
AP PGECET Application Form 2017
Candidates must fill the AP PGECET Application Form 2017 in order to get registered. The application form is available online at www.sche.ap.gov.in/pgecet. The window for registration closes on April 06, 2017. The step by step process to fill the form for the exam is given below:
Step 1: Fee Payment of AP PGECET Application Form
Candidates interested in giving AP PGECET 2017 have to fill the Application form. Before making the payment, a candidate is required to mention the following details (mandatory):
- Qualifying Exam Hall Ticket Number,
- Candidate’s Name,
- DOB (Date of Birth) as per SSC or Equivalent,
- Mobile Number,
- E-Mail ID,
- Qualifying Degree,
- Specialization in Qualifying Degree.
After filling all the details, total fee will be displayed. Make the payment from the options available:
- Net Banking,
- Credit Card,
- Debit Card and
- At AP Online Centers
Application Fee for AP PGECET 2017- The application fee is defined as per the candidate’s category. For General/ OBC category, the application fee is INR 800. Whereas, for SC/ ST category the application fee is INR 400. If in case, the payment is debited from your account and the website gets disconnected before receipt generation, then check the Payment Status using ‘Know Your Status’ option.
Step 2: Fill the AP PGECET Application Form 2017
After paying the requisite fee, candidates can then go on and fill the AP PGECET Application Form. But before that, 4 major fields need to be filled:
- Payment Reference ID (as generated at the time of payment)
- Qualifying Examination Hall Ticket Number.
- Mobile Number and
- DOB (dd/mm/yyyy)
After filling the above-mentioned fields, one is redirected to the Application Form of PGECET 2017 AP. Here, all the details- personal, academic etc is to be provided and photograph and signature have to be uploaded as per the set standards.
Uploading Standards- After filling all the details as per requirement, candidates have to upload 2 mandatory documents. The documents are- Passport Size Photograph and scanned image of Signature affixed with a black pen on a white paper.

Step 3: Print AP PGECET 2017 Application Form
After submitting the application form, candidates can then save the document. They are required to take 2 print outs for future references.
Forgot Registration Number
In case a candidate has forgotten his or her registration number or ID, he or she can retrieve it by visiting the official website i.e. sche.ap.gov.in. Transaction ID, DOB (Date of Birth) and mobile number is to be provided to recover the forgotten Registration ID for AP PGECET 2017.
Forgot Transaction Number
In case the candidate has forgotten his or her transaction number, he or she must visit the official website and enter details such as payment source, mobile number and date of birth, SSC hall ticket number and SSC year of passing.
Correction in Application Form
If a candidate has made some mistakes while filling the application form, he/ she can request for corrections to be made. For this purpose, the candidate needs to visit the official website and enter his or her D\OB, registration ID and mobile number. Then, candidate will be able to edit any wrong fields in the form and provide correct information.
AP PGECET Hall Ticket 2017
Andhra University, Visakhapatnam will issue Hall Ticket of PGECET 2017 AP from April 24, 2017 onwards. Hall Ticket for AP PGECET is a primary document to be carried on the day of exam. It is a getaway to PGECET 2017 examination hall. Entry to the test center is prohibited without the AP PGECET Admit Card/ Hall Ticket 2017.

Step 1: Visit the official website i.e. sche.ap.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the ‘Download Hall Ticket’ link.

AP PGECET 2017 Result
AP PGECET 2017 results will be declared on the official website i.e. sche.ap.gov.in. Only those candidates who appeared for AP PGECET 2017 are able to view their results. Login credentials are required in order to check the results.
Andhra University will release the results in June 2017 (tentatively). AP PGECET 2017 Result will be announced in the form of total marks obtained by the candidate and the rank achieved. The steps to view the result are given below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of AP PGECET 2017- sche.ap.gov.in.
Step 2: Enter the AP PGECET 2017 Hall Ticket number and click on submit.
Step 3: The candidate will be able to view the percentile and rank obtained along with the qualifying status.
Step 4: Download the AP PGECET 2017 Rank Card. AP PGECET Rank Card 2017 will be available post the Result declaration.
Note:GATE or GPAT students do not need to take the entrance exam and hence, will not be able to view their results. It may be noted that GATE / GPAT students will be given preference over the AP PGECET 2017 candidates.
AP PGECET 2017 Counselling
The counselling process will start after the results are declared on AP PGECET 2017 official website. Candidates qualifying the entrance exam are eligible to participate in the AP PGECET 2017 Counselling Process. Before participating in the process, document verification is done. Also, the whole process is done via web counselling. No separate call letter or notification is sent informing about the process to qualified candidates.
The counselling will be based on the merit of the students and their scores in AP PGECET 2017 and in GATE / GPAT 2017. The first step is document verification. Thereafter, the candidates will be able to fill and lock their choices for seat allotment process. Depending on the ranks of candidates, the date for web option filling will be different.
