AP EAMCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

AP EAMCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria is set by the conducting body, JNTU Kakinada. Candidates satisfying the set standards can fill the AP EAMCET 2017 Application Form. The engineering exam is scheduled from April 24 to April 27 (Engineering) and agriculture exam is on April 28. AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) is a state level exam, for candidates seeking admission in Agriculture and Engineering courses offered by Institutes in Andhra Pradesh. From this year, AP EAMCET will be conducted in online mode (CBT- Computer Based Test). The exam will be of 3 hours and the questions will be objective type. AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria 2017

The eligibility criteria are bifurcated by JNTU Kakinada for engineering and agriculture programs. The criteria of AP EAMCET 2017 enlist the requirements related to age, nationality, qualifying exam, marks obtained in qualifying exam, etc.

Courses Offered under AP EAMCET

  • Engineering, Bio-Technology, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B. Tech (Agr. Engineering), B. Tech (Food Science and Technology)
  • B.Sc (Ag), B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.V.Sc and A.H/B.F.Sc
  • B. Pharmacy, Pharma.D

Eligibility Criteria of AP EAMCET 2017- Engineering

Eligibility standards for engineering exam are different from agriculture exam. Engineering exam will be conducted during April 24 to April 27, 2017. The time slot for the exam is between 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM at the online test centers only. The eligibility for the exam is as follows:

On the basis Nationality

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • He/ she should be an Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).
  • Candidate should belong to Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana state. The candidates should satisfy Local/Non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana.

On the basis of Age Limit

Eligibility Criteria for age is different for all the engineering courses. 

  • Candidates should have completed 16 years of age, as on December 31 of the year of admission.
  • There is no upper age limit. 

For Pharma.D, B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering)

  • Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission.
  • The upper age limit for the applicants belonging to General Category must be 22 years, while for SC/ST category, they must be 25 years of age as on December 31 of the admission year.

On the basis ofAcademic Qualification

Candidates must satisfy the following academic requirement to be eligible for the Common Entrance Test:

  • Applicants must have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional.
  • Candidates qualifying in vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education and Technology are also eligible to apply for the exam.
  • The vocational courses must be conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. Along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidates enrolled during the academic year 2001 onwards, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • Candidates who have qualified the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering are also eligible to apply for the common entrance test.
  • The diploma examination must be conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • Candidates qualifying in any other examination recognized as equivalent to the diploma examination by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana are eligible.
  • Candidates must obtain a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the subjects mentioned above taken together in the qualifying examination.
  • Applicants belonging to Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste must secure at least 40% in the subjects specified taken together in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility for AP EAMCET Pharm.D course

For Pharma.D course candidate should satisfy the following standards-

  • A candidate should have passed or appeared in the final year of Intermediate examination with 10+2 pattern having Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as optional subjects or other vocational courses. OR
  • If a candidate has passed or appeared in the final year of Diploma examination in Pharmacy conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana or any equivalent examination recognized by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • Candidate should obtain at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belongs to reserved category) in the subjects specified taken together in the qualifying examination.  
  • The candidates should have a minimum age of at least 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission to the above course

Qualifying marks for Pharm-D Course 

For AP EAMCET 2017, the prescribed qualifying percentage of marks considered for ranking is 25% of the maximum marks. There is no minimum qualifying mark prescribed for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. However, the admission for them is limited to seats reserved for such categories.

Local and non-local Residents candidate relaxation

In relation to a local area (AU/OU/SVU), candidates will be considered as local candidate if they have:

  • Studied in educational institution(s) in such local area for no less than four consecutive academic years in which they have appeared or first appeared in the qualifying examination
  • During the whole four consecutive academic years in which they have appeared or first appeared in the qualifying examination, they haven’t studied in any educational institutions but have resided in such local area for no less than four years from the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination, appeared or first appeared.

The candidates, who do not fall under local candidates category, have to meet the following criteria for being considered as a local candidate:

  • One should have studied in an educational institution in the state for no less than seven consecutive academic years till the academic year of appearing or first appearing of the candidates in the relevant qualifying examination to be considered as local candidates in relation to: Local area where they studied for the maximum period out of seven years.
  • In case candidates haven’t studied in the educational institutions in any local area during the seven consecutive academic years till the academic year of appearing or first appearing of the candidates in the relevant qualifying examination but they have resided for whole seven years in the state are regarded as a local candidate in relation to: Local area where they resided for the maximum period out of seven years OR If such period is equal in two or more local areas is equal, then the area where they last resided in will be considered

Eligibility Criteria of AP EAMCET 2017- Agriculture

JNTU Kakinada has scheduled AP EAMCET 2017 on April 28, 2017. Candidates satisfying the following requirements are eligible to appear for AP EAMCET-2017:

On the basis of Nationality

  • Candidates should be of Indian Nationality OR 
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.
  • Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh / Telangana.
  • The candidates should satisfy Local/NonLocal status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh / Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

On the basis of Academic Qualification

  • For B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Hort) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (FS&T) courses: Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana, with any two / three of the subjects indicated against each course noted below:
