He followed only NCERT books. He says, it is more than sufficient for AIPMT, read every line... every single of them… it really works! He followed the notes for Chemistry and says practice is more important. He preferred Universal Self Scorer (USS) book for chemistry.

He further answered some important questions which will clear your doubts regarding exam

Ans. At my rank (around 2000!), I was getting seat into almost every state college leaving the top 1-2 colleges in all the states. I was eligible for every college in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra except SMS Medical College, BJ medical college and Seth GS Medical College respectively.

Ans.  I didn't join any classroom programmes, just test series & distance learning programmes of Aakash Institute and Allen.

Q. Rate the Role of you Coaching Institute (Classroom or Online) in cracking AIPMT?

Ans. 7

Q. How did you manage AIPMT preparations along with your Class 12th exams?

Ans. With primary focus on AIPMT, class 12th exams didn’t need much attention... just last 2 months were sufficient for boards.

Q. What were your Strong and Weak areas? How did you prepare and what special efforts did you put for improving them?

Ans. Strong areas- All the three subjects had to be strong, you couldn’t afford to choose the favorite.
Weak areas- As in my case, I used to make really silly mistakes that cost me a lot.
For improvement on this, I tried doing maximum mock tests...online as well as offline.

Q. What is your Five Point Rule to excel AIPMT 2016?

Ans. 1) SELF STUDY... I can't stress this enough... don't depend on ANYONE.
2) SMART STUDY.... you don't have to do all of the books, stick to single for each subject.
3) REVISE REVISE REVISE... study less but revise more.
4) ATTEMPT MAXIMUM TESTS YOU CAN BEFORE THE REAL EXAM
5) STAY CALM… even if the paper seems difficult, it is same for everyone.

Q. What mock papers did you take?

Ans. As I've already mentioned, I joined test series of Aakash institute and helped me great in minimizing the mistakes I used to commit. It also helped in improving speed & accuracy.

Q. Websites you followed regularly for practicing sample papers and get updates?

Ans. None. There wasn't any website available back then. I used to follow the exam conducting bodies' websites for the updates.

Q. Share your thoughts on the Strategy for the aspirant who is starting 4 months before the exam.

Ans. Firstly, believe me it's enough time if you stay focused. Mug up NCERT Biology Book and practice as many as previous year questions for Physics & Chemistry as you can. Don't get diverted by the abundant study material available out there.

Q. What are the things you would like to go back in time and change to get into a better college?

Ans. I just wish to do just 1-2 more questions correct. Really, it all comes down to this. That day... decides all. But you can never change it. So, prepare beforehand.
