AIPGMEE 2017 Result and Counselling

AIPGMEE 2017 (All India Post Graduation Medical Entrance Examination 2017) is the largest medical entrance exam to various post-graduation courses all over India. The exam will be held in the month of December, the results will be out in the month February. The students can check the result online on the official website. The process of first round of APGMEE 2017 result and counselling seat allotment will start in the month of March.

How to Check the AIPGMEE 2017 Result?

Candidates can check AIPGMEE 2017 result online. Before checking the result the candidates should keep their Testing Id (the roll number given on the admit card for the test) with them

 To check the result one need to go to the National Board of Examination (NBE) website nbe.gov.in

  1. Click on “Result AIPGMEE-2017”
  2. The result window opens up. http://results.nbe.gov.in/aipgmee_2016/

AIPGMEE 2017 Results

  1. Fill the “Testing Id”, “Date of Birth” and the verification code in the fields provided.
  2. Click on submit and the result of the candidate is displayed.

AIPGMEE Result 2017 Qualifying Criteria

Qualifying criteria is the minimum percentage of score a candidate need to score in order to qualify the exam and get selected in the merit list. AIPGMEE 2017 has reserved seats for SC/ST, OBS and PH categories and the percentage of score required to clear the exam varies for each category

Note:

The reserved candidates can claim a seat under the General Category if they secure a rank in the merit list of general candidates.

The mark sheet-cum-result certificate for the AIPGMEE Result 2017 examination can be downloaded by the candidates from the official website of AIPGMEE 2017 while checking their results.

Validity of AIPGMEE 2017 Result

The result for AIPGMEE 2017 will be valid only for this session of the medical PG courses 2017. The result cannot be carried to the next session of Medical PG Courses.

The registration for all the PG Courses is governed by Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with the permissions granted by the Central Government of India and Supreme Court of India.

AIPGMEE 2017 Merit List

The AIPGMEE 2017 Merit List will be declared after the announcement of AIPGMEE 2017 Results. The Merit List will be published by NBE on the official site of MCC. Some of the important points related to the AIPGMEE 2017 Merit List are mentioned below:

  • The merit list of 50% All India Quota contains the names of all the candidates who can participate in the online counselling for the year 2017. The number of candidates in the list is either five times the total number of seats or five times the total number of candidates who have cleared the entrance test (whichever is lesser in number) as per the guidelines given to NBE by the Supreme Court of India
  • Candidates whose names are not included in the counselling list are still eligible to take admission in the various medical PG courses of institutions and states participating in AIPGMEE if they meet the eligibility criteria laid by them
  • Result for candidates who applied under various institutions/Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS)/ state institutions will be declared separately on the official website of AIPGMEE 2017. The Medical Counselling Committee will not entertain any queries related to the result and counselling list as it would be dropped in to the MCC separately by respective institutions.
  • AIPGMEE 2017 has no option for re-evaluation or re-checking of the exam answer sheet
  • Candidates who fail to meet the qualifying criteria won’t be shortlisted for further process for seeking admission in various medical PG courses of 50% all India Quota.
  • Institutes might change the number of seats reserved under the OBC category without changing the total number of seats under AIPGMEE 2017- 50% All India Quota
  • Seats reserved for the physically handicapped candidates, i.e.; 3% of the seats reserved for the candidates with 70% to 50% locomotive disability in the lower limbs might be transferred to the candidate with 40% to 50% locomotive disability in lower libs if the seats reserved under the former category remain unfilled.

AIPGMEE 2017 Equating and Scaling

AIPGMEE 2017 Equating scaling ensures that the final result of the test is accurate and without any discrepancy. The AIPGMEE 2017 is conducted in multiple sessions on different days. Also, there are different question paper sets used for different exam sessions. The equating process is meant for adjusting differences in difficulty. It establishes that performance from different question papers can be compared on a common metric which assures fairness to candidates appearing in different exam sessions.

  • A psychometrically-sound approach is used for the purpose of evaluating the AIPGMEE 2017 answer sheets.
  • The difficulty level for all the AIPGMEE test sheets remains more or less the same throughout. Difficulty level varies in term of different subjects appearing for the tests.
  • All the minor statistical differences are taken under consideration during the preparation of the final AIPGMEE 2017 Merit list to ensure fairness for computing final scores of the candidates.
  • Item Response Theory (IRT) is a psychometrically supported statistical model is used for post evaluation process. The final result of the candidates is drafted after considering the various difficulty levels of different exams conducted in AIPGMEE 2017
  • The test administration uses the linear scaling approach which helps in placing the results on the same metric ensuring appropriate interpretation of performance of all the candidates
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the AIPGMEE 2017 answer sheets

AIPGMEE 2017 Tie Breaker

If two or more candidates score same marks in AIPGMEE 2017 then the inter se merit of the candidates would be takes into consideration according to their age and the older among the two would be given the preference.

“Inter se merit considering age” is comparing the marks on the basis of age of the candidates.

If two or more candidates score the same percentage of marks in AIPGMEE 2017 the candidates who is older in age would be selected for the AIPGMEE result 2017 counselling process

AIPGMEE 2017 Counselling

AIPGMEE 2017 Counselling is the process of seat allotment for various medical post-graduation courses under 50% All India Quota. The counselling for AIPGMEE 2017 will be an online process and it will have 3 rounds of seat allotment. 

  • As per the instructions and guidelines given to NBE by the Central Government and the Supreme Court of India, AIPGMEE 2017 counselling process in help ONLINE for the 50% All India Quota for taking admission in the Medical PG Courses all over India
  • The candidates would be given admission to various seats under the 50% All India Quota for various medical PG courses through the process of online Counselling conducted by various authorities for their respective institutions
  • For further information about counselling the candidates may check the official website for AIGMEE 2017 in order to remain updates with all the new information regarding counselling.

Candidates are advised to follow the steps mentioned below to complete the admission process.

  • Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)starts online counselling
  • The candidates need to register, submit their choices from the indicative seat allotment and lock their choices.
  • If the candidates are allotted a seat they need to report to the allotted college and complete the admission process. Or they can opt to participate in the further rounds of seat allotment.

Candidates who have not been allotted any college need to check the website for the next round of seat allotment

  • The next round of seat allotment is started by MCC.

  • The final round of seat allotment starts. All the candidates who had opted to appear for this round are also included
  • MCC enlists all the available seats and candidates now need to finalize a seat using the fresh choices and lock their personal preferences and report to the allotted college. Previous choices made by the candidate would be considered as NULL.
  • The AIPGMEE 2017 Counselling Process will come to a conclusion after the third round of seat allotment unless otherwise directed by the Medical Counselling Committee.

Documents Required at the Time of Admission                  

Candidates are required to carry certain documents at the time of reporting for admission to seats in Postgraduate courses under 50% All India Quota after the conclusion of AIPGMEE 2017 Seat Allotment. The documents required are listed below.

  • AIPGMEE 2017 Admit Card issued by NBE.
  • Result/ Rank letter provided by NBE.
  • Mark Sheets of MBBS 1st, 2nd and 3rd Professional Examinations.
  • MBBS Degree Certificate.
  • Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the Head of Institution or College stating that candidate is supposed to complete the Internship by March 31 of year of admission.
  • Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate approved by MCI /State Medical Council.
  • High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate for verifying date of Birth
  • Proof of Identity (carried to AIPGMEE 2017 Exam Center)
  • The following documents will be required if candidates are claiming seats under reserved categories:
  1. SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority prescribed format and should be in English or Hindi language. Sub caste should be clearly indicated in the certificate.
  2. OBC certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format. The sub-caste should be present in the Central List of OBC. The OBC candidates’ category should not fall under Creamy Layer.
  3. Orthopedic Physical Disability Certificate issued from authorized Medical Boards. Any other PH certificate, issued by any other Authorities / Hospital would be summarily rejected.
