AFCAT 2018 Application Form

AFCAT 2018 Application Form is expected to be released in the month of December 2017. The application forms can be filled through online mode only. Note that AFCAT 2018 Application Forms will be released 2 to 3 months prior to the exam date.

  • Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted by Indian Air Force twice a year in the months of February (AFCAT I) and September (AFCAT II).
  • Candidates have to thoroughly check the educational, age, height/weight and visual standards eligibility criteria before initiating the application procedure.
  • Prior to filling AFCAT 2018 Application Form, applicants will have to register on the official website.
  • For successful completion of application process for AFCAT 2018, provide correct details asked in the form.
  • Candidates must have scanned images of their passport size photograph, signature and right thumb impression in the specified format and must upload the same to complete AFCAT 2018 Application Form.

Candidates must fill in information very carefully as there is no scope for modifying details entered once the application is submitted.


AFCAT 2018 Important Dates

AFCAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must carefully check every single eligibility requirement before applying for AFCAT 2018. The minimum educational qualification required and the lower and upper age limit criteria for various branches are shown in the table below.

The physical standards qualification required and visual standards for various branches are shown in the table below. It must be noted that candidates who wear spectacle regularly are not eligible to applying for courses under Flying Branch.

How to Fill AFCAT 2018 Application Form

Candidates, after checking their eligibility, can apply for AFCAT 2018 in the online method. For this, they need to visit the official website (http://www.careerairforce.nic.in) and complete the 5 steps involved in the application process.

Applicants are advised to have the following documents ready before they start the application procedure.

  1. High quality scanned images of candidate’s recent passport size color photograph, candidate’s signature and fingerprint with the file size in between 10kb-50kb.
  2. Candidates must also have all education certificates, from their class 10 to their latest qualification, ready for reference while filling out the application.

Candidates can then begin the application procedure.

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official website and click on ‘Apply Now’ link’.
  • At the new page directed, find and click on the ‘Candidate’s Login’ link
  • Register as a new user by clicking on ‘New Candidate’ link.
  • Enter personal details along with a valid email id. Login credentials will be sent via mail to this email id.
  • Username and Password received in mail must then be entered to complete the registration part.

Step 2 and 3: Educational Details and Selection of Subjects in Graduation

  • Step 2 involves filling up of educational qualification details.
  • This is divided into 2 parts, namely ‘Details of Graduation’ and ‘Details of 10+2’.
  • Under ‘Details of Graduation’ candidates need to choose/enter the following information.
  1. Select Qualification Education (from graduation option A,B,C or D explained in next section)
  2. Exact Qualification
  3. Qualification Duration (in years)
  4. Name of College/institute
  5. Name of University
  6. Date/Expected Date of Obtaining graduation
  7. Percentage (in case of CGPA, refer conversion formula shown beside)
  8. Number of Backlogs (Candidates with backlogs are not eligible to apply)
  • Under ‘Details of 10+2’ candidates need to enter the following information/
  1. 10+2 Percentage
  2. Percentage obtained in Physics in 10+2 level
  3. Percentage obtained in Mathematics in 10+2 level
  • After entering all the details, candidates can click on ‘Continue to Part 3’ button.
  • Candidates must then enter the subjects in their graduation.

Step 4: Choice Filling

  • In this step, applicants need to select their Choice of Course and Choice of Examination Cities.
  • Courses are offered to candidates based on information provided by candidates in Step 2 and 3.
  • Candidate can choose their preferred examination center from the options given.

Step 5: Uploading Documents

  • In this step, candidates will be required to fill in all the other personal details asked.
  • Candidates must then proceed to upload the high quality scanned images of Passport size photograph, signature and right thumb impression in specified format.

Candidates must then carefully ‘PREVIEW’ their application before they click on ‘SUBMIT’ button. Once the application is submitted, candidates will not get a chance to make any modifications to the submitted application.

Upon clicking on the SUBMIT button, application status can be checked on left side of the window. There is a message that reads ‘Application Successfully Submitted to Indian Air Force’. Candidates will also get a confirmation mail sent to their registered email Id. Registration/Application number must also be noted down carefully.


AFCAT 2018 Application Form Correction

A two day window (which will be notified to candidates) is given to make modifications to the submitted application. Candidates must note that modifications can only be made to name (spelling) and address. Changes to name and address cannot be made after the two day window. Other details filled up by candidates in the online application cannot be changed.
